We stayed here end of November 2011 after getting a half price deal on lastminute.com We were looking for something a bit more special, and the hotel initially did have that WOW factor.
The negatives: I wouldn't say our welcome at reception was particularly warm - staff not particularly "smiley ", we had to remind housekeeping that they hadn't yet made up the sofa bed for the children, though that said when they were reminded it was sorted very quickly. The route to the pool and spa was a bit like walking through a tradesmans entrance, scruffy lift and corridors, not what we were expecting from a hotel of this calibre. (though the pool was very nice when you were there) . Quality of the food was average.
The Good points: Concierge very helpful, Rooms were good size and very well kitted out, lovely bar overlooking the harbour, close to tube station, lovely pool,
Good value for what we paid, but would have been disapointed if we had paid the full rate
