The breakfast was good though a little pricey. The other outlets were not sampled on this trip. The Polo bar has a good atmosphere for business or social meetings. The concierge came up trumps on theatre tickets. The only disappointment was the housekeeping of the room which seemed to miss a few obvious points in tidying and changing linen etc. The refurbishment of the hotel has certainly helped and the location is an enviable one for Piccadilly and the west end as well as business shopping and galleries.

Can't swing a cat

Now I've been to the westbury on a few occasions but never stayed. I think I will keep it that way. You could hardly swing a cat in the room and after a long day I just wanted a cup of tea. But there were no facilities of this sort. If you want a crash pad with a bad view this is for you. But if your looking for a 5 star experience I'd stay elsewhere

Great location for shopping and very friendly attentive service by all staff.

Overall excellent if expensive. The building isan art deco style and the room we took a suite which was of a reasonable size and furnished classicly. Only minor issues were that there was an extra bed in the room when we arrived, which we had not asked for and this was quickly removed. Also breakfast is a little slow as it is a-la-carte rather than buffet. The doormen and concierge staff were very attentive. We would probably go back.

A great area for accessing Regent Street, Bond Street and Oxford Street

I have stayed at this hotel many times and like the friendliness of staff and the Polo Bar where we always go for a great cocktail. The rooms are always acceptable, although it would be nice if there were tea/coffee making facilities in the room, or complimentary water. The food in the dining room is excellent and the breakfast is good too.

Really disappointing. Worst 5 star hotel I've stayed in.

Was looking forward to staying in the Westbury as one of London's famous 5 star hotels. Really disappointing. The bed was fantastic but that's the only good thing I can say. Room was about 10 foot square and the bathroom about 5 foot square. No clock, no coffee or tea facilities, no complimentary water, wi-fi available but for £13 a day, anti-theft coat hangers, only one robe per double room. Overall seemed really penny-pinching. When I mentioned these at check out I was told I could book a bigger room next time and pre-pay for internet. Cheers!

The ideal anniversary hotel

A fabulous hotel with a modern and luxurious feel. We were upgraded and treated especially well by a very courteous and pleasant team. The hotel was in an ideal location in Mayfair, a five minute stroll to Oxford St and Piccadilly. This would be my first choice hotel for celebrating another anniversary and look forward to staying there again in the very near future.

A lovely sumptuous stay.

Will definitely recommend Westbury to friends. Had a lovely stay. We were in the standard room, which was sumptiously comfortable. The size was big enough for the two of us. Bearing in mind that we were in central london, in the middle of a very busy shopping district, our room was quiet. There was no noise from the the streets below us. The staff were very curteous. I would definitely stay there again the next time we arrange a theatre trip to london.

Wonderful weekend

My sister and I stayed at the Westbury, which was central to the activities we had planned. on arrival the reception staff where very helpful and held our bags until the room was ready, so we could go off shopping. We found the staff very polite and friendly and had the knowledge to deal with any enquires, which instills confidence. The staff are perfect ambassadors for the hotel and the breakfast in the morning was excellent. I was happy to pay the Lateroom rate for this hotel, and plan to be in London in a few weeks, so if I can obtain the same deal, this would be my preferred location.

Anniversary night in London

We hose the Westbury for our anniversary night in London given its central location for the restaurant, cinema and shopping the following morning. The room was spacious and had everything you needed. Breakfast was exceptional, amongst the best I have had around the world. If I had to be overly picky I would have liked a bottle of water on the house in the room and the TV picture was pretty poor. Other than that the laterooms deal meant it was a bargain for the Westbury

Good location

This hotel is in a great location with easy access to the tube stops of Green Park and Oxford Circus. Easy walking distance of all the main shopping areas.
Our room was clean and comfortable and quite spacious, the bathroom was tiny but clean and functional.
I would expect a better standard of hairdryer for a 5* hotel, tea/coffee making facilities and complimentary water.
And the £5 price of a coffee in the lounge/bar is nothing short of robbery, even at London prices.

Not 5 Star

Was very disappointed with hotel, I've stayed in far superior 3 and 4* Hotels. Rooms were small, basic and dated, bathroom very small and shower not very good. There were no tea and coffee making facilities, not even bottled water. Breakfast wasn't that special and the eggs were cold even thought they were supposed to be cooked a la carte. A very substandard 5* in my opinion.

Super location

With a fantastic location, on Bond Street, this hotel is a must for shoppers. Our allocation room was so small we upgraded to a larger room and bed but the bathroom was the smallest I've seen. Bathroom very tired looking. Comfortable bed and very clean. Staff very attentive and polite. Bar pricey as with most London hotels but nice atmosphere. Would stay again but only if on offer.

Fabulous hotel, centrally located, safe to walk back to in the evening. We booked a standard double but were given a room with a double aspect with a balcony - nice!. Cosy, comfy bar, good service. Only disappointment was the bed - we had booked a double room and it was 2 twins pushed together. Overall I would recommend whether for business or leisure.

The London Trip

The Westbury is a beautiful hotel in Mayfair where service is clearly king. The room was really comfortable and spacious which is unusual for London. The bathroom was clean but small - the only disappointment, which is really picky is that the shower was quite dated - in a 5 star establishment I like to see a power shower head. The breakfast was very generous and nothing seemed too much trouble. The Polo Lounge served fabulous cocktails in a very relaxed atmosphere. A great experience overall.

Really rather disappointed

I had previously had a lovely lunch at the Westbury and was delighted to be staying there, however we were somewhat disappointed. We arrived and accepted an upgrade to a King room for a further £20 (this seemed to be offered to everyone arriving). The room was however still small even if the bed was big! (But the pillows are hard and the bed made my husbands back ache!) The bathroom was cramped and the fittings elderly; the loo seat was chipped and the showerhead needed a good scrub, there was shampoo and shower gel but no body lotion, cotton wool or mending kit and NO KETTLE. As neither my husband or I eat breakfast but both like a drink before leaving our room we were faced with the option of paying £5 each plus tax and service for a hot drink. I admit to being mean but I don't think this is good value. Not a five star experience. Yes I could have asked for different pillows but I'm British and I don't complain at 2am except to myself...

Central location, but quiet enough for a good nights sleep

My sister and I stayed at this hotel as part of her birthday treat, and it didn't disappoint. The location was fabulous. The ambience of the hotel was special, but was still comfotable enough for us to feel relaxed. Breakfast was lovely, served until half ten which meant we didn't have to get up too early and it set us up for the day. We were pleasantly surprised by how quiet our room was and both of us slept really well.

Paid as little as £120 for a five star hotel in the heart of london.... wasnt disapointed.

Overpriced, tiny room - avoid!

Even at a good LateRooms rate, the superior double is very much overpriced for its size. I opted to pay an extra £40 to upgrade to a deluxe double, which was much better.
However, the arrogance of the hotel is breathtaking. Be aware that they will add a 'discretionary' 12.5% service charge to any room service items. They will also add a 5% 'accommodation service charge' to your bill. I managed to get the room service extra removed but not the accommodation service charge. I believe this is an underhand way of increasing prices by 5%.
There are much nicer, better value hotels in the area. I travel to this area approximately twice a month and I will never stay at the Westbury again.
I have also used its sister hotel, Kingsway Hall, and they have the neat trick of putting you into a lower quality room than you booked but not telling you.
Avoid both or pay through the nose for the privilege.
