A very smart frontage and reception area gives a great initial impression. The check-in and -out processes were well handled in a friendly manner. The lift worked (when so many in budget class hotels do not!) The room was small and simply furnished, as one expects in London for this rate. However, I have experienced much smaller and considerably poorer quality than this. The bathroom was clean and adequately appointed although the water pressure in the shower (level 3) left much to be desired. A nice modern LCD TV and excellent free wi-fi access made for a comfortable stay.

Room very basic, but what you'd expect for this money in London, so no complaints. Staff friendly and efficient and location ideal.City centre, budget hotel.

As other reviewers have said the hotel is...
As other reviewers have said, the hotel is pleasant from the outside and in the lobby. However generally the rooms and interior are quite disappointing. The service was quite unfriendly for us. For example when we arrived the receptionist was on the phone, and without even a gesture to acknowledge that we were waiting, pushed a form to in form towards us and still without even looking up he gestured at us to fill it in. Also on departure the service was pretty cold.Double room was the size of the bed, plus about one metre each side. With suitcases on the floor there is no room to move. The room was very warm as the radiator was on and there was no heating control, but window opens onto the street. TV has all the freeview channels, but no remote (have to use buttons on the tv). Room was however generally clean and quiet. Not an awful hotel, but even though it is convenient for Paddington I would probably not return in future and try one of the other hotels.

Initially given a room next to the lift on the fourth floor, I asked for a quieter room and was given a room on the other side of the lift on the third floor which was equally unsatisfactory. In fairness, the lift wasn't used regularly until 7:00 am the following morning and the room was otherwise at the back of the hotel and quiet. There was no remote for the TV. Breakfast was very busy and food selection quite poor. Wi-fi only available for payment in the lobby, not in my room. Having said that, the room was clean enough, the bathroom was tiny but adequate for overnight, coathangers supplied, kettle worked, tea and coffee supplied in the room and no noise from neighbours.
