Great position but lacking character?

Excellent position ,upgraded as my birthday which was very nice! (to an exec room) recently refurbed but bathroom hadn't been, which was dissappointing. Whole hotel was very hot we turned heating off and had window open all day(waste of resources?) .Bar/ lounge lacked atmosphere.Rooms had door bells which were extremely loud when pressed I presume for room service at other rooms on our floor. Not appreciated at all at 1*30 am and 8am.

Perfect

Came here after checking out early from another hotel. Arrived well before check-in time but nothing was a problem for the staff. Professional, courteous and accommodating. The location is perfect - Cafe Nero across the rode, Tesco convenience on the corner and Sushi at your doorstep and a pleasant stroll to central London. What more could you ask for! A fantastic hotel with exceptional staff. Will be back.

Pleasant comfortable hotel off Mayfair.

Have stayed at the Washington twice this year. One week-end on a business trip and another for a theatre trip. Very pleasant stay on both occasions. Staff particularly helpful. Room comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. Good wifi connection for my iPad. TV reception rather poor and choice of channels very limited. Breakfast at the hotel restaurant very good. Hotel very well placed for visits to Royal Academy, National Gallery, Buckingham Palace and West-End theatre land. All within comfortable walking distance. Would definitely stay there again.

Lovely hotel

We stayed at the Washington for my husband's birthday, and were immediately upgraded to a nicer room, which had the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. Lovely bathroom, great power shower. The staff were friendly, professional and very eager to help. The buffet breakfast wasn't as good as I'd expected, but that was due to it sitting around for a while as it was a very quiet morning. Great location, in the middle of Mayfair, close to Green Park tube.

Would never ever recommend this hotel

On arrival we were given a very poor standard double room, (Twin was requested ) the room was very small , chipped furniture, dust in draws, marks on the wall, for the manager to say this was a corporate hotel in Mayfair.more or less should we expect anything better (our conformation paperwork from Laterooms.com requesting Twin not Double) to be told that there was noTwin rooms available and we had to make do with a double room. We waited for 1 hour to be moved to a not much better standard room (again a Double not Twin) The rest of our 4 day's were not much better. One of our nights was ruined as we phoned phone 3 times in 1 hour to reception as we could not open our mini safe (waited 1 hour before someone came up but by then our plans had been ruined, as we needed tickets etc.( to be told by management maybe if we have tryied to access our safe earlier waiting 1 hour would have been ok this would have gave them time to correct the problem)
On our 3rd day we arrived back after 5pm to find not even our bed had been made,( to be told by managment (Well mam how do we know you never came back and slept in the bed) He said he would have to check with housekeeping if they had made the bed or not. (another minor nigle, but waited 1 hour for sour milk portions to be replaced, We could have and should have complained about lots more things regarding staying at this hotel, but every time things went wrong the managment payed no attention ( we felt if you were guests staying and paying for a more expensive room you may have got even some of there attention. After our 4 days in London we were glad to check out of this hotel. Even up until the very end of our stay not one apology from management for all our inconvenience. Only If we ever returned they would add to our details only if available an upgrade)

Smallest room but not a small price

Booked online but took 5 hours for hotel to get booking. Given the smallest room with a view of a wall. Over £200 and breakfast £20 extra. No value whatsoever. Asked to change rooms but was told hotel is full but night porter told me less than half full. Never again.

Would stay there again.

I read a number of negative comments about this hotel; I am happy to say that for my husband and I they were not even close. The staff were pleasant from the moment we arrived, our room was very nicely furnished, immaculately clean, and on the 1st floor which meant that we could use the stairs everyday. The location is one of the best in London for walking, going to Hyde Park, Soho, Buckingham Palace, Picadilly Circus, Oxford and Regent St shopping, and access to the underground and buses. We will definitely stay there again. There is also a convenient Tesco and a coffee shop right across the street, as well as Shepherds market where you can find a variety of restaurants at all price levels. The hotel also offers free interent access and three computer terminals for those people who do not travel with electronic devices. Thank you Washington Mayfair for a very enjoyable stay.

Firstly, they could not find our booking. Secondly, they put us in a room with someone elses suitcase and laptop. No idea if this room was being used or the previous occupant had left them there by mistake. We changed rooms again, only to be given a twin room, when we had booked a queen double. Then we had a third room, which again had twin beds. We gave up and spent all night trying to sleep through the noise of the vent in the ceiling. Managed to change rooms agian for the second night. Only then did we relax. The staff we rude and unhelpful. Never again !

Great front desk staff

Not bad , 2nd stay in a month .
Room wasn't as nice as first stay .but it all worked well and was clean. I was in 606 , its ok
just the 101 was much nicer for some reason.
Not a bad price for the area. I was on a course ,so needed a decent place to get my head down.
I didn't have breakfast as the price is monstrous! There are loads of cafes and a Tesco metro outside
