Compensated with some choccies for the wait, which were delicious!

We would thoroughly recommend this hotel. The location is really good and the staff very helpful. We also had the benefit of being upgraded free of charge to a suite which was very luxurious. We did have a problem at night with a noisy air-conditioning unit but this was sorted out straight away when we contacted the reception desk. Would definitely stay again.

This is one of the nicest, most convenient and comfortable hotels I've stayed in for a long time. The service from reception and the concierge is really fantastic - whatever I wanted they did, and quickly, and the room was fantastic too. Absolutely nothing to complain about at all - and I'm very fussy about hotels !

Turned up late evening (as was pre-arranged). Was told they had no room. Was put in cab to another hotel (this was a nice hotel, good room, good staff but a long way away). Washington manager said they would pay the cab & for the other hotel to make up which I thought was very reasonable - the new hotel did pay for the cab (thanks) but said (after ringing to check with manager at the Washington) that sorry, I needed to pay the full price. Then delighted that instead of a short walk to my destination next morining, had a cab fare to pay. Unimpressed.

Tiny room and loud air conditioning.
There was literally not enough space to open our luggage. The air conditioning was loud and there was road noise through the night.
It felt a bit like they'd gone through the list and ticked the requirements off for being a four star hotel without really offering the service to back it up.
The gym was an absolute joke - hardly any equipment and all of it clapped out. Some of it was literally rusty!
It is however in a great location.
All in all not really worth it unless you need to be in Mayfair.

I found this hotel to be quite easy to find and in a relativley central location to Green Park tube station. So access to the underground and also bus stations was fairly good. I thought the room itself where me and my friend spent one night was clean and comfortable, but yet fairly basic. I do think this hotel is considered a 4* mainly due to its location in mayfair rather than anything to do with the actual hotel. The reception was quite drab and could have done with a revamp, lots of marks on the walls and wallpaper. The staff were quite nice, although not very chatty and you had to ask for help rather them to offer assistance, which I found a bit rude. The batheroom in our hotel room was lovely although the plug in the bath took ages to drain any water from the bath at least 45 mins! I dont think I would stay here again although for one nights stay it was ok, and when you consider it is a couple of hundred pounds a night usually and I got it for 125 approx, it was a bargain, yet I guess if you were paying full price you would expect a bit more for your money.

The location was perfect, quite central however, far enough away from the hustle and bustle. We didn't eat in the hotel and thought the breakfast here was quite expensive. The Hotel is excelent! It is in the centre of london just 10 min walk from picadilly circus, 5 min from hyde park, 15 min walk from oxford street and regent street!! The room was just renovated and was beautifully furnished with modern things. Just like the photo! In front of the hotel is the sheperd market: a place with many small and beautifull restaurants and bars! It is just great!!! The only thin is that the hotel is always hot and you have to put the air conditionated cold and perhaps open the window a little bit! But inspite of this, the hotel was great!

The furnishings were lower quality than described, and the amenities that we've come to expect (from stays in less 'luxurious' hotels) were not readily available. I had to request a hairdryer (it wasn't in my room, as stated), and 15 minutes later the concierge brought up a small, old one with a safety sticker that expired 6 months ago. I had to request a hospitality tray (there were no in-room tea and coffee facilities, as stated), and we also only had one bathrobe, despite stating that two of us would be staying. In addition, the wifi Internet access advertised as free was not available without charge.

We were very impressed with the Washington Mayfair and our overall experience was excellent. Our room and ensuite was clean, stylish and spacious with all the facilities you would expect at this level. The location was superb and booking through Late Rooms we saved over 50% of the normal room rate. Only two negatives firstly the NCP car park nearby added 48.00 to the cost and breakfast could be found nearby for a fraction of the hotel price! However this is top class Mayfair location and I don't think either of these points will surprise anyone.

Had a comfortable, if oddly-configured, room where two wedge-shaped buildings meet. Bed and bath clean and newish. Very powerful shower compared to many UK hotels. Much of available closet space consumed by the minibar and safe, leaving less room than needed for clothing. I like this hotel but there are a few little things that I would expect to find in a hotel of this standard and which are not provided although they are in most other similar class hotels. Specifically - a wooden stick instead of a proper teaspoon on the hospitality tray makes it feel like a travelodge rather than a high class hotel; no face cloth in the bathroom or shoe shine pad; no iron or ironing board and a bog standard feeble hotel hair dryer instead of a proper efficient one. What's more I was upgraded to a superior room so I really did expect these things which are pretty basic in good hotels nowadays.

The hotel was easy to find. There is a "security" desk in the foyer and it is very easy to mistake this for the reception desk, which is further around the corner. The hotel had no problem with me booking in late in the evening. The room was smart and functional. Best of all was the balcony that opened onto Curzon Street. It was a really hot night and this was a great asset. The bathroom was small, but the shower was hot and powerful. TV and internet access was fine. Bed was very comfortable. The only down side was the room service which wasn't prompt and didn't have everything we requested; but we did get a discount because of it. Also the maid service did come early in the morning (although I had neglected to put the "Do Not Disturb" sign up). We didn't use the restaurant or bar, though they looked fine, and skipped breakfast, but we thought these services were a little expensive and it was cheaper to try the local establishments. Its well located for pubs, restaurants and cafes as its close to Green Park and Piccadilly.

Seduced by the promise of …"distinctive feeling of luxury"…I book an executive twin weekend break. One could be lured into a false sense of security on arrival, with the obvious luxurious feel & look of the reception, bar & dinning area. However, the rooms most definitely did not leave-up to expectation in terms of description or cost. The WMH reminded me more of a very good 3 star hotel. Nevertheless, the location was perfect, friendly & helpful staff and effective service. I would not recommend the WMH as a luxury hotel but the stay was a pleasant one.
