stay A VERY TEMPTING HOTELLes Routiers has awarded this small luxury hotel London's hotel of the year 2002. This hotel has 19 beautifully fitted bedrooms: All rooms idividually styled with wood, linen, cotton, silk, marble bathrooms and hand-painted wooden blinds. Hand crafted furniture, mainly commissioned from Indonesia, echoes both Asian and European influences. Choose from specially carved de luxe four-poster beds, Egyptian Sleigh beds, doubles, twin bedded rooms, or four-foot beds for sole use. Each room is unique - from the delicate skills of the Chinese Room, contrasting with the opulence of the Rococo Room, through to the understated granduer of the Pasha Suite, with its balcony overlooking the garden square. Alternatively On the ground floor 'The Terrace Room' restaurant provides an intimate alfresco setting for dinner, while downstairs the rooms are delightfully secluded with their own courtyard. The colour tones were inspired by the original mosaic patterned steps leading into the hotel. They lead to an interior that features rich silks, luxury fabrics and object d'arts offset by Bath stone flooring. Earls Court Exhibition Centre just a short walk away and with the tube station even nearer, Knightbridge, the West End and City are all easily accessed by public transport. There is street parking outside the hotel and garage parking a short distance away. The Victorian townhouse was originally built in the 1880's and was one of the first domestic Revival styles of architecture. Independently owned, this distinctive small hotel took 12 months to complete. Set in a conservation area, the restoration had to carefully follow strict architectural guidelines. Enjoy!
