Hotel was easy to get to and well positioned for seeing London. The room was ok but will soon be in need of a refurbishment. The bedding was old fashioned but adequate(if you like a good quilt it may not be for you). The extractor fan in bathroom did not work and no light over mirror. The fridge and safe did not work. The floor boards where creaked in our room and the one above which was a bit annoying at times. The furniture has seen better days. Could do with lights over mirrors in room. The room was clean tidy. The food was not to a standard I would recommend but it was only breakfast. There was a place to store our luggage on the day we left which was good. Overall it was good value for money for London and I would stay there again.

Comfortable room with a Jacuzzi!

The room was temperate and comfortable with the wonderful blessing of a jacuzzi bath, ideal for jetting and bubbling away the cares and labours of the day. True, the main room decor was a little less than pristine and lacked a little verve but the bathroom was excellent. The hotel is very well positioned for sightseeing being a two minute walk from Queensway Tube. The only downside was the charmless disinterest of the reception desk people. If I was the owner I would be furious with these lack lustre people who, for the want of a smile and a kind word, condemn the hotel to mediocrity.

Comfortable, friendly but not great for Wi Fi

Nice hotel, and pleasnatly different from the chain hotel experience. Very nicely furnished rooms, but I would quiible about the Wi-Fi signal which wasn't strong enough to reach my room; and the breakfast which was essentially bread and cheese and/or tinned fruit. Nothing cooked. Would definitely return, but it would be even better if these minor points could be remedied.

Good for a central London stopover

Very convenient , only about 4 minutes from Queensway tube.
Check in was quick an easy (just what you want when its after midnight and a Christmas Party :-) )
Hotel clean and tidy, room decent and quiet. Had everything I needed.
Simple but sufficient continental breakfast
Will stay here again

Wow - so close to central London and what value!

Have to say - we were 15 minutes walk from Oxford Street, just across the road from Hyde Park and have found a hotel with great standards and at a non-London price. Rooms were clean and recently done up. Bed wasn't the best - but slept really well.
Continental breakfase was very nice and included in the room rate.
Also quite a lot of on street parking - £2.40 per hour and can park for up to 4 hours, But free between 6.30 pm and 8.30 am.
Definitely using again.

Would recommend

We were very happy with what we found at the Troy Hotel. The location was ideal, quiet area, with ease for the underground, a good local pub and walkable to the Natural History and Science museums. The staff were courteous, breakfast was simple but good. The room was nice, clean and the bathroom facilities also good and clean. We would consider staying again if in the city. We've stayed in hostels and hotels in London and we thought this was a good accomodation at a good price...and when London has so much to give you- one to remember for future.

This small hotel is only a few minutes walk from the nearest tube station and on arrival I found the reception, receptionist and my room what I hoped for but not what I expected for a relatively budget price. The hotel was clean and reasonably well presented, for an overnight stay the room was ideal and although not the most spacious I would not describe it as small. The shower room was clean and the double bed comfortable so overall impression was good. The breakfast the next morning was in a small be ok breakfast room and they provided a basic toast, cereal and yogurts option but I was aware of this when I booked. I would stay here again.

Troy Hotel, the best value I have come across in 15 years.

I have stayed at many London hotels at this cost or higher and was very surprised by the standard and size of the room, quality of the breakfast and the helpful and friendly attitude of the staff.
I would very much put this Hotel at the top of my list if I was staying overnight for business again or on a weekend break with the family.
