Summary
My second stay at the Town Hall. Perfect. Fantastic 2 bedroomed apartment,, faultless cusomter service, lots of nice extra touches.
Summary
Fantastic hotel! We arrived by car and even though parking is difficult in the area, all being residents' only, they whipped us round the back and found us a parking slot amongst the staff parking! They then upgraded us to a 2 bedroomed apartment. The rooms were beautifully furnished and fully equipped, the fridge contained milk etc and there was a state of the art coffee machine with coffee etc provided. The staff went out of their way to make our stay a good one, they were well informed about the local area and very friendly. We ate in the restaurant upstairs after having drunk a complimentary cocktail in the bar. Would I stay here again? Yes without any doubt.
Summary
We stayed in a junior suite, but weren't expecting a kitchen to have been built into the wall. It was a brilliantly designed and stylish room, and perfect for us having a two year old as we could fend for ourselves foodwise if we wanted. Staff were friendly and kind.
Summary
Do Not Take Your Car_ Do Not Go Outside
Do not expect to be able and have a cup of coffee and chat
Expect outrageously high bar prices
Do not ask to stay more than 90 minutes at your table in the Corner Room Restaurant
Can't be faulted. Complimentary cocktail. Friendly staff. In house food very expensive (michelin starred) but delightful bring your own wine italian just across the road was cheap and cheerful. Very luxurious rooms. Comfy bed. The window opened! Pleasant small pool and gym. Only complaint was a loud hum in the room that was fixed - its the wireless router - just ask them to turn it off.
Would be very expensive a full rate but via late rooms was good value.
I read several reviews of London Town Hall & Apartments before booking. Many websites commented on how superb it was. The price was not disimilar to many other 5* rated hotels, I was swung by the fact that the accomodation was not part of a huge chain where service is all to often fickle and frequently a disapointment.
We arrived at 12:00 on a Saturday for our overnight stay (a day in London). It was too early to check into the room however Concierge was available to take care of our bags whilst we went off to site see in london.
Upon return to the hotel at 10pm we were quickly checked in and received a superb explanation of facilities.
The room lived up to its Standard. We booked a Studio Apartment. It everything that would be necessary for a 2 week stay if needed right down to the washer/dryer and dishwasher, all craftily hidden away in a seperate lobby style area.
The bed was sublime, the bathroom was spacious clean and of a very good standard.
The real beauty of this hotel/apartments is the quality of its renovation and its ability to mix new facilities with old charm and style.
The nearest tube Station is Bethnal Green easlily found approximateley a 3-4 minute walk from the building.
I would recommend this to everybody. I particually thought of the travelling businessman looking for short/long term accomodation due to the handy little extras that the hotel offered inculding loanable DVD players C/W Films and series and also a loanable XBox with games but to name a few things.
Outstanding. Thank you, I will be returning.
We stayed for just one night - in order to attand my daughter's wedding at nearby Stoke Newington - and were most impressed at what we found, namely a most handsome hotel (formerly a Borough Town Hall), with extremely helpful staff and a delightful self-contained suite (we had an up-grade) . Sadly, we had no time to sample the food or even to benefit from the free cocktails! I'd certainly recommend the place to anyone who visits London.
Summary
Stayed in one of the hotel apartments which was what could only be described as superb affording every facility that one could imagine of a high quality standard, which was all maintained and presented to exceptional standards. All staff were brilliant whoever we dealt with and genuinely appeared to take pleasure in their daily task whatever their duty. Our cleaner ws only seen once but maintained our room in a prestine state...
I did have some initial reservations when booking the hotel as not within zone 1. Do not let this put you off booking. The hotel is very close to Bethnal Green Tube station (Central line) which gives excellent access to the West End (Oxford Circus) or the business areas (Bank).and changes to other lines There is also great little shopping centre around the Tube for any essentials required for the apartment, if you do fancy making a home meal.
The hotel is also fascinating having been an old Town Hall. and grade 11 listed. The conversion works are all of an exceedingly high standard whilst retaining many interesting features and introducing many objects d'art. to the environment which I found to be innovitive. I did not have the opportunity to use the gym or swimming pool but did pop to see out of interest, these facilities again were superb..The hotel also provides an interesting Cocktail Bar and choice of restaurants . We will return to this hotel with colleages / family without hesitation.
I was travelling for work with a colleague and looking at late rooms for hotels when we found the Town Hall Hotel Apartment. This ticked every box and more for what we needed. On arrival we were VERY impressed with the hotel from the lobby to the rooms the place was spotless, contemporary and tasteful &the staff were friendly and helpful. It was easy to get to from Euston and we had no problems finding it, it really is only 3 minutes from Bethnal Green tube station. The apartment was stunning with excellent use of space. The other facilities were fab too (i.e. the pool). The ONLY down side was the restaurant was very expensive and not everyday food and the location was grim and didnt have any restaurants nearby, so we ended up walking around aimlessley for 45 mins in a not very nice area and then ended up getting a taxi somewhere else! The complimentary house cocktail is an added bonus!
Summary
The staff at the hotel were lovely, everyone was extremely nice and accommodating. The apartment was also gorgeous very nicely decorated. As the hotel only opened earlier this year it is all still brand new. They have kept many of the original features of the old town hall. The whole hotel was amazing no complaints to be honest. Probably minor issue is a spotlight that was outside our bedroom window which my mom did put on the hotel review sheet as it shined into the room through the curtains.
The only issue really is location if you wanted central london, using the tube it is not a problem but my mom is disabled so we had to use taxis which were expensive. I would stay here again with others who can use the tube. The bar was great and the cocktails were lovely we had a lovely breakfast martini which was very nice. I have to say I couldn't believe how nice all the staff were, all of them from mohammed the concierge to the barman.
If you don't mind the taxis if you want central london then the apartment and hotel itself are good for disabled persons as in practical terms our apartment was on ground floor, we had a walk in shower area and there is also a lift at the entrance if you cant manage the steps at the front of the building.
Loved the way all the original features of the Town Hall-such as marble columns and floors and sweeping staircase have been preserved but with ultra modern rooms and bathrooms added. A mix of arts and crafts and '30's features. The foyer is an art deco dream accompanied by discrete background music in keeping with that era. Loved the art works-installations around most corners. Friendly and welcoming staff, gorgeous fluffy towels and bathrobes, Occitan toiletries and those late night chocolates in the room led to a luxurious and enjoyable stay. Oozes quality. Not to mention the swimming pool in the basement and high powered gym! Restaurant is booked up well in advance so the opportunity to try it out did not arise. However the bar snacks were delicious as were the wines we tried.
Summary
The Apartment was nice, but we have stayed in similar in london for alot less and with better location to everything. The A/C didnt work so it was not a very comfortable stay.
Summary
Everything was great, just thought the breakfast was quite expensive but still good!

Booked this as a last minute place to stay for a friend's wedding ans was very pleasantly surprised.
Summary
A very stylish and modern place to stay but our stay wasn't without hiccups. We arrived at check-in time 2pm but our room wasn't ready so we were offered a complimentary drink in the bar whilst we waited - for an hour. Then there was some confusion over what type of room we had booked - they thought we had booked a standard double so put us in a twin? My paperwork said I had booked an apartment. Over half an hour later we were given a small apartment. Wasted two hours of our afternoon. The apartment had a very comfortable bed but no bedside surfaces due to compact space - only one comfortable chair in the lounge area, so we had to take turns - no mirror within reach of a plug, so hairstyling practically impossible and no remotes for either of the TVs. there was a foul smell in the vestibule area outside our room which could sometimes be smelt inside the apartment. We should probably have reported all these problems but as we had already made a fuss about the room on arrival and were only there for two nights we just decided to put up with them. The pool was small but relaxing and the staff were all very friendly.
Summary
Good quality apartment with plenty of amenities on site eg pool, gym and a top class restaurant.Handy for Brick lane,Petticoat lane market and Spitalfields market.
Superb conversion of a town hall in a quiet street just off a busy bustling area with good rail and tube links to all parts of London.
