Summary
I arrived at the hotel early to drop off my overnight bag but was pleasantly surprised to find my room ready. The room was small but perfectly acceptable and very convenient for the Business Design Centre with an excellent bus service just outside.
Later in the day I took a shower and the riser rail fell off (loose) but managed to put it back - plenty of hot water. The room was very warm and stuffy as I couldn't open the window. However, a fan was in the room which circulated the air.
Breakfast was basic - choice of two cereals, toasts and pastries & yoghurts. Coffee, tea, water & fruit juice.
I had read some of the previous reviews and was slightly apprehensive. However, despite my reservations I would recommend for an overnight stay.
I have to say that I didn't enjoy my stay here at all. The room was so noisy from traffic noise that I could barely sleep. The traffic noise was still as much at 2 o'clock in the morning as at 8 o'clock at night! I couldn't believe it! The food was entirely unconvincing. I ordered some Indian food but it looked like it had just been turned out of a takeaway container; it was still square in shape! Not a place that I would consider staying in again.
Summary
Very easy access to London euston n central London
A bedroom the size of my shower room. No hot water for the first night and morning. Surly looking people in the reception area. Made you want to double lock your door.
Summary
We enjoyed our stay - friendly staff, comfortable beds, nice & warm and quiet, even though we were near a busy road. Rooms look more luxurious than they are but they are an attempt at solething different. No lift;
Summary
This hotel is well sited for travel anywhere in london.
brisk walk to angel tube, or £5 in a taxi- mini cabs next door, very friendly
safe and well lit area
room clean and quirky
good bathroom
great to have windows that open
good deal
This hotel looks great on the pictures but at face value it a massive health & safety risk. There is a major problem with the plumbing as the smell of the drains is disgusting and there are strange noises coming from the pipes in the bedroom and the bathrooms. To make things we stayed from the 26-28 November 2011 and during our whole duration we had no hot water, then when I did decide to try a cold shower the whole glass shower screen fell on top of me and shattered glass everywhere. I am not a fussy or picky individual but this hotel is definitely a no go. Take my advice and go elsewhere.
Summary
Ideal place for my short business trip. Being pretty 'London-savvy' I had no problems getting to and from the hotel but if you don't know the city well you need to be aware that the hotel is slightly beyond walking distance from the tube. However buses from King's X and West End stop directly outside. Get an Oyster card and check out bus routes beforehand or take a short taxi ride from Angel.
Good all round score for service, quality and value based the reasonable last minute deal I got.
Very disappointed with hotel. Room smelt damp, not very clean ,very shabby furniture and carpets.
Noise from the street during the night.
Very poor value for money .
On plus side very convenient and free on street parking
Would never consider staying again.
Overall the accommodation left much to be desired. The room was tiny, the furniture was a bit scruffy but was generally clean. The cleaning staff and especially the lady serving breakfast were lovely but the reception staff were a bit unfriendly and abrupt. Breakfast was not very inspiring and there was no Internet connection in the room so that meant going downstairs to the clinical 'restaurant' to use the Internet. Overall I can't say we hated it but neither was I impressed.
Summary
I booked an apartment for myself, my partner, our 12 month old baby and 16 year old daughter only to be told there was no electricity and had to have the family room.
I was working day and night and booked the apartment so the family could be near by but have all the facilities.
With the family room we then had no cooking facilities, everyone had to be in the same room, the room was hot and no air conditioning and only offered £10 off the room. We were there for 2 nights and asked if we could be informed if the room became fixed but never heard anything, We did see another family come in from what seemed to be the apartment area on the last day as well which did confuse us a little without wanting to assume anything.
All in all it was a very poor experience and spoiled what should have been a nice break for the family whilst I had to work in london.
Parking was restricted to 2 hours outside at a cost of 30p per 6 minutes until after 6.30pm as well so made parking and access very difficult. The NCP by the business centre over a mile away was £3.00 an hour - Great!
The TV only had some of the channels working as well so restricted what could be watched and we had a great view of the bins outside but nothing else!
The Continental Breakfast was basic, coffee, orange, toast and a banana or apple. No ham or cheese and I over heard another gentleman ask if he could order something specific like the menu offered but they said they could not do anything now,he had to either go out and get it himself or accept the continental breakfast as it was.
A shame really and if it were a school report would have to say "Could do much better"
OK hotel, nothing special. Nice and clean, strange beds but comfortable. My window was either fully open or fully closed, which is not good on a very warm night when it is raining and the bed is placed directly under it !! Bathroom was fine, nice and clean.
Summary
Having asked for a quiet room we got shoved into the basement in a room approx 10ft by 8ft. It would just about have been adequate for a single room, for a double it was a disaster. The bathroom door would not fully open as the bed was in the way. The bathroom had no heating and you needed to be a real masochist to have a shower in there. Storage space was inadequate and there was only one chair for two people. If you wanted to watch television you had to lie on the bed. Not what I was expecting.
Summary
Some rooms airless windowless boxes, Generally ok

Just don't!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Summary
A very smart frontage, foyer and cafe style restaurant is in stark contrast to the stairs, corridors and rooms which are very dated and in need of refurbishment. However the room and ensuite were clean and the bed had clean crisp sheets. Breakfast was very adequate continental style and modest priced at £3.99 (if not already included in your deal).
Its quite a walk to the nearest tube (Canonbury) but if the weather is nice and you enjoy walking there is much pleasing to spot walking in the neighbourhood. eg. Broadway Market on Saturdays.
We were made very welcome and cared for very lovingly. the breakfast waitress was particularly helpful. we would love to stay there again.
Summary
From what I thought was going to be a pleasant stay in a bargain hotel, it soon turned into the worst hotel stay of my life....!
I could put up with the uncomfortable bed, the very rude staff, the rattling windows, the tiny shower and the incessant noise...
....but what I could not put up with was a huge torrent of water gushing through my ceiling at 3am from a massive crack and bulge!! Needless to say, it was a huge shock, and when I mentioned this to the man at reception, he just looked at me blankly. I also sent an email, and have yet to actually hear anything back.
To say I'm extremely un-impressed with this hotel, and indeed the chain, is an understatement.
Seriously - do not book a room with these people. You can get better rooms for the same price in the same area!!
The room itself was pretty clean and the bed was comfortable. The room (single) was absolutely tiny though - basically the size of the bed. And the only furniture was a bedside cabinet (which was at the end of the bed as there was no room at the side...). The ensuite was in good condition but again small. Friday night was also quite noisy until the early hours.
Breakfast was continental buffet - not a huge selection but it was all good quality, so I was quite happy there.
I would definitely stay again for one or two nights for business in London - it's good value for an ensuite in such a good location - and just accept the small room.
Easy to get to and room spotless and bed extremely comfortable. Breakfast basic but OK. Do not take a basement room. We were under the breakfast room and furniture was being moved from 4.30am on - and you hear every movement - very loud. HArdly slept after that. I don't understand why they don't go to B&Q and buy felt pads fro the legs of the chairs and tables. It was a shame cos everything else was OK. I would stay agin but if my only choice was a basement room it would be a definite no, no, no.
Summary
It's a little out of the way, but the theme is well thought out, the rooms are a little like going into a Bengali household (I'm Bangladeshi) and quite welcoming. Although the rooms are basic, the homeliness more than compensates for that. It's a good place to stay with a group especially if you're heading into the Islington region for a gig or something.
The food is overpriced and my dish was greasy, badly cooked and abysmally presented. Service in the resturant was not so good. However, the hotel is pretty cheap.
Although they don't advertise it, there was free wifi for guests in the bar/restaurant area and it stretched to the lower ground floor.
Excellent location. service good.comfortable but basic room. bathroom needed repairs ie: sink cracked, shower trim broken and toilet seat chipped paint.
Summary
Very cheap (£70 for a double room for 1 night in Islington).
Room had a bit of an odeur....could have done with some incense or something.
Staff needed a clinical psychologist or something. not even a smile.
That said, it was a place to stay and was cheap. caan't have everything!
Absolutely no complaints, it was great value.
Summary
Very affordable hotel - rooms are small and compact, but clean. Service is friendly but non-intrusive. I have used it once before and would definitely use again with no hesitation. I couldn't eat the breakfast as I have wheat/gluten allergies and there isn't a cooked breakfast option, but even buying breakfast elsewhere, it was amazingly affordable for the location.

Straight forward good value for money in decent location
Summary
Good location, clean, stylish and better-than-expected but stayed in ground floor room on side street near the front and was regularly awakend by buses on the main road driving over a loose manhole cover. Spoke to staff the next morning and they didnt seem to understand but did smile! Stay but take earplugs just in case....or ask for a quiet room to the rear.
Summary
Great value for money hotel which was warm and clean, important as it was the start of the snow and cold weather.Breakfast was adequate but definitely not impressed by the attitude of one receptionist who was rude to the point of it becoming an issue.Overall we enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the nearby Lord Clyde pub for its hospitality and excellent home cooked food.Great location and would stay there again.
Summary
I enjoyed my stay here and would stay again.
I like what they are trying to do and it was refreshing to see a little character rather than bland decor so no-one is offended. Great looking bed and comfy too.
The bathroom had a good shower and no worries with hot water etc. If i had to say something less than complimentary was the bathroom would have benefited from a lick of paint but over-all pretty good for the money.
Continental style breakfast was included in a nice airy setting.
I was put into a tiny room with no drawers, wardrobe, night table or even hooks to hang up clothes. After complaining, the second night my room was changed which was fine except the radiator was broken. The Indian food was excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful so I would stay there again on condition of being given a decent room.
Summary
Excellent from the moment I arrived. Great Service, Cheap drinks at the Bar (Cobra Beer £2 a Bottle - Bargain) Friendly staff and excellent Bathroom facilities. The value for Money was outstanding. 2 minor problems for me was the room was slightly small, in fact the bathroom was larger I think and although not an issue to me the hotel is a good 15-20 min walk from Angel and I walk quickly.....so if you enjoy walking it is perfect.....
Summary
If you do a decent days work you need to go somewhere where you are comfortable and secure. Its good to feel happy about your experience. If you feel the same don't bother with this place. Spend the extra £30/£40 quid and get somewhere decent, there's plenty of choice.
the rooms are tiny, you can hear everything going on around you. You might as well invite your neighbours in, it sounds as if they're in the room with you anyhow. Floors creak and slope, bathroom fans work occasionally, toilet sounds like its taking off, bed feels like its made of straw and a 30 stone man has been lying on one side on and off for the 30 years its been in the room. The hotel information folder needs to be seen to be believed, its comical! It says theres food but i wouldn't want to try it. Basically its cheap and crap, don't bother!
Good hotel just a bit far from nearest tube

Summary
I booked this hotel through late rooms at a cost of £39.99 for a double room and can definitely recommend this hotel! On arrival the staff opened the door for us, and the Receptionist was friendly and check in only took a couple of minutes. Our room was on the first floor and was easy to find. As the room was so cheap I was slightly dubious as to what the quality of the room would be like - I need not have worried. The room was lovely! It was small but perfectly formed with a double bed with an indian canopy and bed cover on. The bathroom was also modern with dark wood furnitre. All areas of the room were exceptionally clean and tea and coffee facilities were provided. The room also had a flat screen tv with numerous channels on it. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the room was lovely and warm with a radiator for us to control the temperature. Breakfast the next day was more then adequate - tea, coffee & juice with cereals, toast, croissants, yogurts and fruit. We were so full with food! This hotel is a little gem and I can absolutely recommend both the hotel and staff. The only tiny tiny negative is that the road is slightly noisy early in a morning but that really is a tiny point.
Summary
Single room small but for what I paid excellant value I paid much less than £50 but would have considerd the hotel the best deal in london for up to this price.
Summary
The room was clean and everything was in good working order. I had to cancel one night and this did not create a problem - staff was helpful. I would definitely stay at Tommy Miah's again.
Summary
Clean & tidy, no hassle check in. Room on small side but adequate for our stay. Good shower & comfy bed. breakfast adequate. Easier to find than expected & well placed for transport links into central/west end. Bus direct from outside euston to hotel 20 mins journey. Would stay again.
