Very nice hotel near Bank of England. Secure car park 100yds £25 approx

Very nice room. Quiet. Great bathroom. Helpful staff and particularly helpful concierge. Would definitely stay again. Secure [locked] car park is only 100yds away - think it cost £25 which is fair by London rates.

For London this is very good.

I would not hesitate to stay here again for the Lateroom price we paid. A few things to have in mind before you book:
If you come expecting this to be real 5 stars you might be a little disappointed - I would rate it a very good 4 star (for London). Probably the quietest room I have ever had in London. Bed and bedding were excellent, the bathroom a little tired, the TV's quality only average, but iPod dock very welcome Free in room wifi was excellent - why is it that as a general rule the more expensive the room the more they charge for wifi? not here they don't.
At weekends the whole area is closed for business - you will have a 10/15 min walk to find the nearest pub/ restaurant. But the Bank underground is c.3mins from your front door. A late night cab back from the West End will be about £15. We decided to give do our own thing for breakfast - a pleasant 15 minute walk gets you to Borough Market.
The service was very good but just too keen for my tastes. If you like for up to four people standing up to greet you every time you enter or exit reception you'll love this place. Every time we got back we played a game of 'guess how many we can get to stand' !

Sumptuous luxury for a romantic London w/e

What an absolute hidden gem. From the moment you walk in, you realise that this is a special hotel with staff greeting you like royalty and treating you with sincerity. Everything was wonderful. My husband treating me to a West End w/e. It was 5 mins walk to Bank tube station and around 20 mins tube ride to the West End. I would certainly stay here again- it is rated as 5 star and I agree that it is 5star in ALL respects. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

A gem in the heart of the capital

We loved our stay in Threadneedle's. The building itself was pretty amazing having been a Bank from Victorian times till the 80s. Although it has been modernised, the old features have not been destroyed as often happens. The atrium and staircase were quite splendid and the rooms themselves with their high ceilings were tastefully and sympathetically decorated with care having been taken to retain original features. The staff were all so courteous and helpful - nothing was too much for them.Classical music was playing gently in the room when we entered and the accommodation was so sumptious, with soft downy pillows and duvet and oh-so comfortable mattress. There were lovely little touches, like fresh fruit, and water by the bedside in Threadneedle's own bottles, Rombout coffee filters and Suchard's hot chocolate. It was in a different class altogether from what we were used to but one that we really could get used to. Breakfast was in Bond's and though we had to pay extra for it, it was definitely worth it - it was so beautifully cooked and presented. The Sornoway black pudding was a nice touch - it's our favourite too. We would love to return sometime. Definitely onto a winner here!

Best bed in the City.

Extremely comfortable bed (definitely best bed that I've slept in so far in the city) and great facilities in the rooms. It's also in a very good location - it's very quiet but extremely close to Bank. Very reasonable price and well worth it.

Threadneedles - a hidden gem

I thought we had arrived at the wrong address - could not tell it was a hotel from the outside - but pushed open the enormous door to see a beautiful atrium with stunning ceiling and extremely helpful staff, a real oasis in an otherwise busy city. The room was excellent, fabulous bathroom with bath and shower, I loved the pile of magazines in the bathroom, the green apples were delicious and the additional TV in the bathroom which could be watched from the bath. Unfortunately due to builders next door, the Internet connection had been lost and there was no wifi or TV in our room during our stay (although the one in the bathroom worked) but it was being dealt with. We enjoyed above all the quiet as we faced onto the side alley and a much needed restful night after a lively evening with friends in Covent Garden and a great walk back through the snow. Would definitely come again.

Loved this hotel

I've stayed in this hotel a few times, the rooms are excellent and the service I have received has been fantastic. We like staying in the financial area as there is less chance of being woken up by the morning bustle. We have only experienced breakfast which was nice, although too hungover to appreciate, so I haven't marked the food.

Cozy boutique hotel in the heart of the City of London

Quiet, high quality boutique hotel almost across the street from the Bank of England. Rate obtained via Late Rooms made the value reasonable. The full room rate is very high -- all too typical of London hotels. The service was unobtrusive and excellent. The hotel itself was very quiet -- perfect for a good night's sleep. The room was up to date, especially the nicely burnished bathroom.

I wouldn't stay anywhere else in London.

I initially booked the thread needle hotel for a romantic trip with my girlfriend, I found it after contacting late rooms and looking for a luxury hotel at the lowest price I could find. I was so impressed with the service that I regularly stay there when visiting friends in the city. The rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable & relaxing. The staff are all incredibly helpful, professional & genuinely welcoming which to me makes a massive difference. I'm writing this whilst on the move so i will end the review there but it is well worth going to the thread, brilliant value!

One Stay at Threadneddles

I was very impressed with the hotel, very good location if travelling into Liverpool Street Station. The staff were professional but fairly laid back. The rooms are excellent with exceptional bathrooms. The quality of service was very good. The only detractor was that the hotel lacks presence on the street, this may well be down to planning restrictions but the entrance is very low key and the signage lacks impact. The entrance does not do justice to the excellent hotel that lies behind the door.

Excellent customer service

The staff in the hotel were very obliging and and when I told them that I had been unable to turn of the air conditioning which had kept me awake they were so apologitic. I got the impression that they really did care.
Having slept in 4 beds in the last 5 nights (including my own) I have now realised just how comfy the hotels bedding was. Nothing comes close.

A man's hotel

Threadneedles is predictably 'modern' in style with cowhide and brown everywhere. Sadly, the decor does not capitalise on the beautiful and delicate skylight dome in the foyer. The staff are efficient, but I thought rather cold. Genuine smiles were very rare. Our double room was stuffed full of equipment and was comfortable (sheets were lovely) but lacking in anything approaching warmth or soft luxury. It was more brutish, frankly; a real man's hotel.

Everyone can find fault with something or another in hotel but when we stayed at the Threadneedles we couldn't fault anything. From the moment we walked in until the moment we left it was perfect.
We ordered breakfast in bed for 09:30 and it arrived at 09:30, fantastic customer service and the actual breakfast itself was AMAZING having been prepared at the Bonds restaurant which is attached.
You must stay, no really you must.

Threadneedles Hotel 16th and 17th April

Being in The City at the weekend, peace and quiet were guaranteed. Luxury end hotel. Complimentary fizzy water, and newspaper left in a rather ornate velvet bag. A cornucopia of complimentary toiletries. Customer service was nice, friendly, without being ingratiating. Room well-equipped, although I found the Rambouts a bit over-elaborate when all I wanted was a quick cup of coffee, and I'm ashamed to say I went out and bought a jar of instant coffee rather than wait 10 minutes each time for hot water to drain through. Doors in the corridor slammed a bit, and some buffering might need to be looked at. Excellent decor with updating that fused sensitively with original Victorian building. I felt very cocooned, and was rather wistful at leaving.

Very good time to stay at this City hotel as workers still on holiday so the area was very peaceful. Hotel room was the quietest and most comfortable I have stayed in for a long time. Staff very pleasant and friendly. Walking distance to the Barbican and Tower of London. Bank of England museum was very close but didn't get time to visit it unfortunately.
2 small points to address: 1. could do with a more female friendly choice of magazines! 2. Wardrobe door didn't close properly (mini bar side) so light stayed on all the time.

This is a very nice hotel to stay for a couple, it has a great shower, really powerful for wakening up! Never ate here as tried to keep cost down and there is a great Italian sandwich shop just outside the hotel. Good friendly staff, tv in the bedroom and bathroom. I'd say my only complaint was being put in the room next to the housekeeping maids room so had her door opening and shutting regularly at 8am so no long lie if your put in room 111.I'd come back to stay again as I like this area of London and it's very handy for bank underground.
