Well situated for the west end

The hotel is in an excellent location for the west end, the staff couldnt be more helpful or do enough for us, the room was newly refurbished, very clean and nicely decorated with extremely comfortable beds. The breakfast was good value for money also.
would have liked a little more draw and wardrobe space in the room, but overall an excellent stay and we will definitely be returning

State of room.

The bedroom was unclean. There was a metal bottle top lying on the floor, obviously a poor case of house keeping. The central heating did not work.. There was a free standing oil filed radiator to use instead, this could not be used as the electric plug was broken.

We loved it!

It was really a good stay.. upon arrival we were offered an upgrade to a executive room for about £20 extra. it was worth it.. the new renovated rooms are modern and everything you would need from a modern hotel.. lovely color scheme too.. all linear and crisp. the shower was great...my husband had a little problem with the room temperature and we were changed to another, and it was perfect.
we came to london for the theatre and we were right in the heart of things! our show was literally 3 minutes away door to door. we will certainly stay here gain!
ps. ALL the staff (bar the british maintenance guys!) were so helpful and friendly!

Alright bit pricey

Went for a weekend ,location was perfect hotel is on picadilly circus, close and easily accessible to everything.Pubs and clubs at the front door lots of restaurants and touristy attractions. Rooms were quiet though. Bed was big room was small, bathroom was like walking into my grannys old pink mildew bathroom. I was surprised as the room was 290euro for the Friday and Saturday night .I expected better to be honest

A three holiday in the centre of theatreland, excellent.

The position of the hotel was really good, right in the heart of London. The staff were very pleasant and attentive, the breakfast and the service in the dining room were much appreciated. Not having to catch buses or tubes , but actually to easily walk everywhere and gently explore London was a wonderful bonus. "The icing on the cake" was the journey time to home, just under three hours from door to door, no pain, no strain. We will be there again.

Overall the hotel was pretty, clean and generally with good customer service. However, after being informed that we could check in from 2pm when arriving at 3.20pm housekeeping had not even started cleaning our room. We were asked to wait and offered a complimentary drink but it still took approximately 40 minutes for the room to be ready, which seemed to be an unacceptable amount of time given that after spending a long time travelling myself and my partner want to check into our room and freshen up.

Theatre Land Basecamp

If your looking for a hotel which is ideal for visits to the theatre then choose the Thistle Piccadilly. Five minutes walk from Liecester Square underground station (& others) & your there. Five more minutes walk through China Town & we were at The Prince Edward Theatre to see Jersey Boys. The staff at the hotel are very friendl & helpful making sure we knew the route to the theatre. They even provided a map upon which they marked the best walking route. In short, they made our brief stay most enjoyable. At breakfast on day two the full english was excellent & the restaurant staff were attentive, polite & efficient in fulfilling our needs. In our room a double bed as requested was big, spacious & most important spotlessly clean. I could only find one negative comment to make & that is, that in our bathroom there was some black mould within the silicone sealant around the bath/shower area. This put my wife off having a bath or shower but this would not deter us from returning to the Thistle Piccadilly on our next theatre trip to London.

Great Location.....

Myself and my partner were in London for one night to attend the Theatre and have a bit of a night out afterwards too. This hotel was in the perfect location for this. The staff were very friendly and the room comfortable. As metioned by others the bathroom was a bit dated and some of the room decor was a bit tired. Despite a Do Not Disturb sign on the door the cleaners tried to enter the room in the morning waking us up...good job there are door chains! The laterooms deal made it good value but I would have been very dissappointed if I was paying the full rate.

Ideal base for Friday night frolics

We only wanted a place to change and rest our heads after the Ball. It did the job well and at a cost that was difficult to match. It had a huge king size bed to rest our weary heads and feet. Taxis outside kept us dry. As mentioned by others and expected - the bathroom fittings were tired. But they still worked and were clean. Very attentive staff at breakfast and lots of choice - also very clean. Concirerge OK for leaving cases on a shopping trip.

West End at your doorstep

Centrally located in Londons West End. Good sized room on 7th floor ideal for city break. Room clean but needed some attention to decor, although these minor details would not stop us staying again! Staff very friendly and welcoming & breakfast @ £10 a head was both a wide range of cereal and/or a very much appreciated hot buffet & plenty of it too! We were encouraged to return for seconds as well, which was nice

Ideal location

Perfect location for sight seeing and for evening entertainment.
Rooms clean and friendly staff. Can't comment on food as we didn't sample.
Room we stayed in was a twin - clean and comfy. It was also of a reasonable size.
Only negative is the hotel has possibly not had much spent recently in terms of updating. The bathroom in our room was in need of renovation - looked like it was originally installed in the 80's - Pink cheap looking woodwork for the bathroom / sink worktop and the tiles looked in need of re-doing. But it was clean.
Concierge facility obviously not large enough - had to collect our luggage on three occasions during our stay and every time we had to point out and find our case - made me a little uneasy regarding the security of leaving my case there.
But overall, I'd definitely stay there again due to reasonable price, clean rooms and perfect location. Just a bit of money spent on the bathroom and would have been great.

Not good

I booked rooms for 2 guests (colleagues) and one in particular was quite disgusted that a room such as the one she was allocated could possibly be used as accomodation. Had she not been in a rush to make an appointment, she would have insisted on changing. I understand that she has left her own feedback with the hotel.

Great location, good VFM for Central London

This is a brilliant location just off Picadilly Circus and convenient for London theatres, China Town, Covent Garden and Soho.
The hotel and entrance hall looked smart and the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful - our room wasn't quite ready only because the kettle was not working - they would have been more than happy to find us another room, but the room more than met our expectations and the kettle was replaced as promised while we were out for an hour or two.
Although just a standard twin, the beds were large and the room was incredibly spacious compared to other Central London hotels I have stayed in. The standard rooms were described as quiet and spacious and this was the case. I would certainly stay there again.

Thought overall the stay and hotel was fantastic i would use them again , the only thing for me was when i booked i sent an email requesting an early check in plus i did ring to make sure this would be ok as i had theatre tickets for 230 and when we arrived we were told we couldn,t use are room until 2 oclock so this caused a major problem it would mean my wife would have to get ready for her 40th birthday event in the toilet!!! but i explained the importance and the lady said she would try but within 20 mins we were in our room so i would recommend the hotel to anyone.

Curates Egg

This hotel as a bit of a paradox with some excellent parts and others a little lacking.
The breakfast was lovely and served quickly and courteously but some items were not available and others had to be waited for (basics like fried eggs and tomatoes).
The room decor was great but the curtains broken. The bathroom clean but tiles cracked.
I assume that these will be corrected in time to make this a truly great hotel.
Position is unbelievably good.!
