Business stay

Very comfortable and convenient for Heathrow airport. A bit of aircraft noise but to be expected. Lobby was being renovated but should ultimately be an improvement.

Thistle LHR - A solid 3-Start that Warrants FAIRER Reviews

As someone who has travelled extensively for both business and pleasure and knows both the lower end of the B&B's and hotel market as well as the odd stay in top-end 5-stars, I would say that the Thistle near London Heathrow is UNDER RATED.. in these reviews. We found the staff/customer service to be very helpful and attentive and the room, while not one of the newly refurbished doubles, was a decent size, with a decent bathroom and not a bad bed in terms of comfort. While it's true, it is not the most modern 3-star in the area, it is MORE THAN ADEQUATE for an overnight stay ahead of a flight and from a point of view of value for money - which in this day and age is key - I will most certainly recommend it to other colleagues using Heathrow and will stay again myself. The staff deserve a particular mention - we arrived at close to 11am and the night team was courteous, helpful and even took the trouble to walk us to our rooms to check we were happy with them. This you can not fault and they are a credit to Thistle Group. I only wish those posting reviews on these sites would take a little more care with their comments - on my expeirence, highly unfair in many respects and made me question my booking. We went ahead anyway and I am glad we did. Good value.

Stayed in room 619. This room was cold, the bed uncomfortable and we discovered we had been bitten. I was asked on check out if everything had been OK & told them 'no - cold and uncomfortable'. I was then asked if I had reported this - I said yes 'now' as I had been in bed trying to sleep. I was offered a complimentary breakfast, which I said was of no use as I had a plane to catch. I told them if they were serious about making amends to put a credit on my credit card. As yet, this has not happened (& I suspect nothing will happen). So I will not be using this hotel again

Thistle London Heathrow

Stayed for tone week on business in a three day block, Service was very good, staff were always helpfull and polite nice quality hotel, with a good price form late rooms.com. Food from the bar and the restruant was very good and reasonably priced.
Room was abit tiered and in need of refurbishment. Not noisey as expected right next door to Heathrow Airport! Room 306 has a terrible flood light outside the room window that needs extinguishing permently!
The real down side is the £10.00 nightly rip off parking charge to all guests which bumps the cost up and my company does not like them! This seems to be the same little sting on so many hotels in London.

Stay at the LHR Thistle

Second visit to the Thistle London Heathrow. Overall good value for money and did the job required. Staff very helpful and hotel clean. Disappointed the room did not have tea/coffee facilities and was very cold and difficult to get warm.

Everthing was perfect, except for the food, which was average

Breakfast - Hashbrowns were overcooked. The grilled tomato was not grilled at all. The breakfast was only warm, not hot, but the service was excellent. Presentation was excellent

LHR stopover

My idea was to stop in a hotel to enable me to get some sleep before an early flight the next day.
The check in personnel were very good but the quality of the room was poor but I guess that is why this was the cost it was.
I will not be doing that again because I didn't get much sleep due to noise both in and out of the hotel and the quality of the bed/linen meant I wasted my time and money.

Good price for the location

Good price for being only 2 minutes from terminal 5
great rooms well equipped and good food and bar services.
national Express buses run from all the terminals to the hotel for £4.50 and £8 return
will use again

The hotel is in a great location, very close to the airport, literally 5 minutes by cab. The building and the equipments a bit old but it was a perfect value for 50 pounds per night for a double bedroom and the restaurant exceeded every expectations the food was absolutely delicious for reasonable price also.

Would never use again !!

This was supposed to a special night for me and my Fiancée!

On the menu it also stated that certain items are served 24hrs so hence on our return, we thought we would order yet again some food, but only to be told that ''they are not serving food''!!!!!
The manager (I understand) was very unhelpful!
We then had to get our car out and go and drive to find somewhere to eat !!!!
I am very disappointed about this hotel!!!!

WHAT DID THE WORST REVIEW SAY?

This was supposed to a special night for me and my Fiancée!
