I think that my mixed feelings with regards this stay should impact on both the hotel AND laterooms with the maximum of impact. The quality of the hotel, its location and the superb room was off-set by a couple of issues; I booked this hotel as a BUSINESS traveller and both the hotel and laterooms asked me these questions. Surely then, paying the expensive room rate would have negated the £25 car parking fee for less than 12 hours parking in a half empty car park! This sort of exploitation is ridiculous in the current climate. Add to this an extra £24 for a sandwich and bowl of chips, with 2 small bottles of beer was ludicrous. You advertise 'room service' as part of the hotel facilities, there is even a room service menu, but in extremely small print on said menu it states that an additional charge of £5 is made if you order room service food!!!Surely that sort of exploitation is equally unfair on a captive audience?I wouldn't recommend to colleagues or friends to stay at this hotel, nor would I; the extras seem to cancel out the reduced room rate...

Nice hotel in a great location (between two tube stations) - a little expensive in my opinion. Housejeeping staff were rude when I asked for some more tea-bags, which I found odd considering how much I'd paid for the room. Had left an item of clothing in my room by accident and emailed to ask if they could perhaps post - 3 weeks later I am still awaiting a reply. There were als greasy handprints either side oif the mirror which clearly hadn't been checked and cleaned by staff, but apart from that the room was clean and tidy.

That's why I put 3 on value for money, Thisle Kensington Gardens is usually a well priced hotel compared to others in the area, but in general the area is expensive for no valuable reason

The staff were extremely helpful and professional, however my room was in quite poor decor for the supposed standard of the hotel. The room was very cold which meant i had to keep the hvac system on. It was extremely noisy and i failed to sleep any more than 4 hours.

Had a triple room shared with my daughter and grandaughter. It was quite roomy for the three of us. There was a problem with the key card machine on the first night so we had to go to reception to get someone to let us into the room. This was done very speedily and caused no inconvenience. The cooked breakfast was excellent with good quality food. The filling station right by the hotel was an added bonus for sweets cold drinks etcI would certainly stay here again.

Upon arrival we were kept waiting for at least 15 minutes. When we were finally being dealt with the receptionist left us to answer the phone and took forever to return to check us in! We were on the fourth floor... lifts are extremely slow and often very full! The Corridors smelt of smoke - our room was ok but not what I would consider to be 4 stars, I would rate it as a 3 star. The Bathroom was extremely small and not very clean. Buffet Breakfast was poor with everything over cooked and burnt. I have stayed in far better hotels...

The lift was slow, the receptionist was slow, the room was small, congested due to strange furniture set-up - couldn't even open the wardrobe without moving the sofa chair, lighting was bad, toilet was old, dirty and unpleasant, pillows were hard, the whole experience was awful. Never want to stay there again!

When walking to the hotel what we thought...
When walking to the hotel what we thought was the front of a hotel was a petrol station!! round the corner was the main entrance. The receptionists werent very helpful and just gave us our room but didnt say what floor etc!! Two girls who checked in next to us asked for a twin room and got a double and they wouldn't give then a twin room. There were 3 lifts that didn't work properly and when they did you could only fit upto 3 people in them at a time.We had to wait 5mins before someone came to pick up our bags to store for us (picking them up was fine and the chap was lovely) Our bags were stored in a cabin out the back. The Room was small. The TV remotes stand by didnt turn the TV on. The TV was hid behind curtins. The bed was solid and the pillows were even harder! The taps in the bathroom were the wrong way round so I neatrly burnt myself on what i thought was the cold tap but was the hot.The shower didn't work properly. There was no hot water coming out of it.We didn't have breakfast but the prices wern't cheap. Note there are alot of local restarants close by that is cheaper for food.Checking out was a nightmare as we (and a few others) qued and in the end just dropped our keys into a hole.On a good note the hotel is a 3min walk from the underground station.

Very pleasant overnight stay with view across Kensington Gardens. Good breakfast. Only problem was time taken to check out in morning. One receptionist was taken up by couple who appeared to be checking in early and causing some problem so that the other was overwhelmed.

Very tired fixtures and fittings. Staff took ages to check in and out and the lifts creaked and groaned their way up and down, if they responded at all to the call button ! Not recommended unless you have to !

The hotel room was clean and well presented. It was on the third floor above the hotel air conditioning equipment. I found the continual hum from the air conditioning system disturbed my sleep which I did not expect given the relatively quiet location of the hotel.
