I had booked half-board but when i arrived the manager Gultan told me that they didnt do half board so it must mean bed andn breakfast. I remonstrated with her and told her this was unacceptable. She said that she would contact a higher manager and tell me what he/she said! She never came near me for the whole 2 days i stayed. When i was checking out i complained again she replied that i would have to take the issue up with Late-rooms!

I found this hotel by accident on laterooms...
I found this hotel by accident on laterooms. Got a great rate and in general, the stay was okay. Only okay? I was put on a noisey side of the hotel because my booking had not arrived from Laterooms.com. The room was fine - ticked all the boxes but the windows were like paper. Stronger windows to block out sound would have been very welcome. The staff were wonderful - all delightful, professional people. When my booking hadn't been received, the Receptionist was polite, business like and sorted the problem. I'd visit the hotel again because of the staff. The Bar, however, was the worst ever. All I wanted was a pint of lager. No beer on draught. A glass of red wine? None. Gin and tonic? No tonic but bitter lemon? Bottled beer? Said yes to Becks from the list. No Becks. Said yes to Stella. No Stella. Eventually got a beer. The location of this hotel is great. Only around the corner from Russell Square tube in the Piccadilly line from Heathrow. Great when visiting from abroad. All in all. I did like this place (i'd just go out for a pint and request a room at the back of the hotel)

Even though we tried to check in before 2pm - (unfortunately there were no rooms available so we left our bags at reception) - no room was actually allocated to us at this time. We ended up in a very small room at the very end of the fourth floor, well past all the standard rooms. The room was very cold because the skylight in the bathroom was open at all times due to the fact there was no extractor fan fitted. Needless to say - our experience was spoiled by this.

This is a hotel that I would never stay in again. We arrived at the hotel at mid-day, aware that we could not get into our room until 2pm but wishing to drop our bags off and let the hotel know that we would be back late that same night. The hotel were more than happy with this so we went off for our evening, watching a show and meeting friends. We had booked a double room and this was meant to be a birthday treat. Upon returning to the hotel at 11pm, we were given our room keys, only to find that this was not a double but tiny twin room. We returned to reception to be told by the very unhelpful receptionist that we had definately booked a twin room and this was all they had left. Luckily I had the confirmation e-mail on my phone which showed a double room had been booked. We were then told that as we were the last people returning to the hotel that evening, all other rooms had now been allocated and this was all that was left!!!! After a huge amount of discussion, we were finally told that our room had been given to somebody else as the other people were back to the hotel before ourselves!!!

Arrived and hotel overbooked. Transferred to THistle Euston. Poor communication between hotels. Told that there may not be a room on the second night. Little attempt to apologise at inconvenience or recompensate need to travel back and forth between the two venues.

I had to be moved from Room 112 because of the large water stain on the ceiling that was covered in damp spores. The smell in the room was rancid.

There was some mixup with the booking. Although I had a print of the booking confirmation with me stating I booked two single rooms, the girl at reception desk told me I'd booked one double room. She didn't seem to care about my confirmation and reluctantly changed the booking. It also took long for checking out. I understood we were helped by interms, no excuses for the slow service. Rooms were really oldfashioned+ smell of painted corridors came in the rooms. Location is absolutely great. Near to breakfastrooms, subway, 10 minutes walk to Covent Garden.

The foyer of the hotel is quite smart...
The foyer of the hotel is quite smart but the upper floors are decidedly tired. The room was clean, if very small. The decor and bathroom were quite dated. I am staying quite a bit in London and have tried the budget hotels (Premier Inn and Travelodge). The Budget hotels are much better value for money and in most of my recent stays, the rooms have been bigger and smarter. There was confusion about whether breakfast was included in the 125 pound rate - the check in person decided it was and wrote this on the card. I then got charged for it the following morning and had a bit of a debate to make clear that I should not be charged. In fairness, staff were pleasant if officious. Unlikely to stay there again as you can get better elsewhere at that price.

I arrived at the hotel to be told there was a problem with the booking system and there was no roon for me!I was then moved to another Thistle hotel (that I normally refuse to stay in). There was confusion when I arrived there. i ended up with a roon that did not match any of my original requirements. All of this addded another 2 hours on to what had already been a long day.
