Chosen at random at short notice, our expectations were low - the reality was fabulous. The receptionists were very welcoming, we were given an upgrade without asking, our suite was really wonderful and all the staff we came into contact with were friendly and very helpful.

Staff are very friendly and helpful and tube is 3/4 mins away. great location

I have to say I could not fault hotel in anyway and will definately stay here more often now. Fantastic location just off Pall Mall east but in very quiet st. Great area with Traf square and picadilly close by .Lovely bars, shops and restaurants all around.Hotel itself is modern and very comfortable. I had booked a standard room but got upgraded to exec room which was supurb - very spacious and very comfortable. Staff were incredibly helpful and great breakfast too. Highly Recommend!!

Spotless interior throughout the public area. Room excellent, staff were friendly and very willing to help. Hotel is ideally situated for walking to the local sites and underground for further afield. Only downside was the frugal supplies of milk cartons in our executive room. One each is not enough for 2 people who like a morning and evening cuppa.

I was really very pleased with this hotel. The staff were exceptionally pleasant and helpful. The room was absolutely immaculate, in my opinion it couldn't have been better. Beautifully furnished and a really nice size. The location of the hotel is quite something, just off the corner of Trafalgar Square...and yet the hotel was so peaceful. A real find.

Very convenient situation. We were moved from the Thistle Piccadily (about 200 yards away) because we had requested a twin room, and they had none available. Service was courteous, and we were given free breakfasts to make up for the inconvenience. The only downside of the hotel was the noise from Leicester square. We (tried to) sleep with window open, but the noise of drunken partying on a Friday night was extreme.

Made to feel valued and wanted, food was gorgeous, me and my partner both said it was the best meal we had ever had, and we are both hard to please, with me being an ex chef, and him just fussy. Room had all amenities, was spotlessly clean, although i did have to hunt for the kettle and hairdryer, but it gave me a chance to check all the room out. We ordered breakfast upto the room for 9.00-9.30 and it arrived at 9.00 on the dot, again gorgeous food. All the staff were polite, and catered well for us, as my partner is in a wheelchair. we stored our luggage at the desk when we went out around London, and the porter went out and got a taxi for us. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble or any hassle. The only downside we had, which had nothing to do with the hotel was that the guest accross the hall really enjoyed opening and slamming his door all night long. Think he stopped at 4am. Also the lift is really small, my partner almost got stuck a few times in his wheelchair. Can guarentee though that next time we in London we will stay here again.

Having read the previous reviews the only negatives I noted were regarding the room climate control and persistent housemaids. Low and behold the room was cold and we were unable to turn up the heating, also various attempts were made by staff to gain entry to the room from quite early in the morning. So having been warned of these possibilities we treated them more with amusement rather than irritation.Other than this we were very pleased with our stay, location was perfect, staff very friendly and efficent, and the room was clean, comfortable, well equipped and thoughtfully laid out. Good value for money and we would certainly use again.

I reasently booked with late rooms at the above hotel for a very special weekend (to ask my girlfriend to marry me) the entrance to the hotel was very nice however this didnt represent the room . the room did not reflet the price of the hotel , the room was very tired and looked more like a basic travel logde then a top london hotel. you could not ask anything more of the location and the staff but if i was going to criticize the rooms need renovation as soon as possible.

Spacious, clean room, comfortable bed, friendly staff, comfortable bar area, tasty and hot breakfast. Only gripe is that the heating in the room is provided by an air conditioning unit which wasn't switched on when we got there so the room was cold and we had to have on all night as it has been so cold lately and with it switching on and off all night it did disturb our sleep a bit.

The hotel we booked was the Thistle Trafalgar, however the day before we were due to travel we were contacted and moved into the Thistle westminster. This was annoying as we specifically wanted a hotel in the west end, for the theatre we had booked. It meant we had to use the tube in the evening and my friend is disabled and struggled with the stairs etc. I was very disappointed.

We were woken on the first morning of our stay at 8.10 a.m. by housekeeping wanting to refresh our room!! To say I was unimpressed was an understatement given I was intending to relax during my stay and had been looking forward to having a well-earned lie-in. Thereafter we kept the 'Do not Disturb' on the door until we were ready to leave our room and let housekeeping in.

Booked this hotel for location central to theatre, shopping and galleries. Booked a twin room for self and friend. On arrival told no twin rooms would have to share a double - blamed Laterooms- reception said to come back a bit later he would make a note and see what he could do. On return new receptionist completely unaware of previous conversation and no note to be found. Told it was the double room or nothing. We agreed to take the room, on entering it had very clearly not been visited by housekeeping since the previous occupants. Called receptionist and was asked to come back down to get a different key. Second room was ok although toilet bowl not particularly clean, but fed up of moaning by this stage. Room was pretty good for central London and luckily the deluxe room booking meant the double bed was pretty big! At breakfast told not included in price - it was. Table clearing and service pleasant but a bit chaotic.I think we were just unlucky in our experience, generally the quality and location of this hotel made it a good place to stay and I appreciate things just go wrong sometimes. BUT I was disappointed and a bit surprised at the lack of communication between staff and the lack of apology or apparent care for the problems we encountered.

I usually stay at this hotel every year as the location to my office ( I organise a AGM) for the early starts is ideal. The service is usually top class, and on this occassion I changed rooms 3 times as I was not satisfied with the rooms. I was very impressed with this and would easily recommed this hotel. This hotel is a particular gem as it is right in the heart of west end, situatied between Lecister and Trafalgar Squares, it is also amazingly quite for a hotel located in such a busy area. The staff are only too pleased to help you and even ran up a toothbrush for us when we realised we didnt have one.

We got a special deal for the weekend which saw us paying a little over two hundred quid for a Friday and Saturday night. There are cheaper places to go near Hyde Park but this place was literally two minutes from Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square, Shaftesbury Avenue and Piccadilly Circus. The quality was good if somewhat efficient (as opposed to friendly) and the room was spotless and well equipped, if a little on the small side for the money. Worth spending the extra few quid for the location, if for nothing else - it takes all the stress out of getting to and from shows, pubs and restaurants, as well as being convenient for daytime excursions.

The Royal Trafalgar is a very nice hotel and right next to the National Gallery. We asked for a quiet room (I think that is why we were on the 6th floor!).The room was very nice and had air cooling. Sadly, even with double glazing, the noise was quiet bad and I was awoken at 3.45am by people passing the hotel (our room was at the front of the hotel). Our friends had a room at the back which was quieter (we should have brought some ear plugs!).Breakfast was good - and with the £5 off offer cost £10. I think they use cheap/catering tea bags which was a bit disappointing as the tea in the breakfast room was not very nice. The staff were welcoming, kind, friendly and helpful. The hotel had a lovely atmosphere.I would stay again (as long as I had some ear plugs!).
