I stayed here for one night whist in london on business. It was very close to Paddington station and was clean and tidy, I was impressed for the price. The only downside I experienced was the air condition/heating unit which was so loud I was woken up at 1am, this may have just been in my room though.

Arrived at the Park Grand in Paddington at 6.00pm on Thurs 29th. When I went to check-in I was told that there was some problem with the Electricity and I could not stay at this Hotel. I was told that I would be staying in their sister Hotel Best Western in Earls Court. I was not very happy as I wanted to stay in Paddington and had spent ages choosing my accommodation. I went to have a look at Best Western next door in Paddington to see if there were any rooms and found other guests that had been sent their from Park Grand having been told their was a problem with the water, but they could stay in their sister Hotel in Paddington? The Best Western was actually £20 per night less but their was no mention of refund, When I went back to the Park Grand I realised that there was a queue of guests waiting to check-in larger than the amount of rooms at the Hotel. So basically they advertise rooms at Park Grand which look nicer than all the other Hotels and when you arrive at Park Grand they ship you all off to the other hotels own by cousins and friends, which have less facilities. Once you arrive in London it is then very difficult to say no, because obviously you need to sleep somewhere. I did not accept to stay in Earls Court as I needed to be in Paddington and had to go out at 7.00pm. I then had to find my own accommodation which is even more tricky on a bank holiday weekend at the last minute. If the Park Grand was a reputable hotel that cared about its guests, it would have advised me of the problem before I arrived, after all they had both my e-mail and mobile phone but had made no attempt to contact me through either method. This whole episode has been very stressful and ruined my special weekend trip to London and I will never use Laterooms or Park Grand ever again!

Cant review the hotel as they transferred me to another hotel due to maintenance work. But hotel is very hard to find. I arrived late night and took ages for me to transfer me via a taxi and the lady at reception kept going out the back and kept giggling with someone. It was also like made out to be my fault that I made a booking when they were half shut. But having said that I got transferred to a totally awesome hotel.

I was moved to Shaftesbury Hotel in Earls Court (same owner) under the understandning that it would have the same standard, but not at all. Was first sent to an annex two floors underground in a smelly room. After having complained and not accepting the room I was moved to a slightly better room in the main hotel, still underground. I booked the Park Grand to be near to Paddington and the function I was attending that night. I am deepley diasppointed and has asked for my money back! Breakfest was of very low quality.

While the hotel is newly renovated, the staff is a complete disappointment. Things you asked for never get done. Even when you want to pay the room charges they will defer it, so that they won't have to do it themselves. But hours later, someone will demand you pay up or won't let your companion into the room... while you are out of the hotel. Our promises of breakfast were not communicated to the meal counter, resulting in more confusion. The twin rooms are small, and the WIFI signal is horrid.Overall, if you wish a fuss free stay, you should not stay here.

Stayed for 3 nights part business/part leisure. Great hotel, good location nr Paddington. Very stylish accommodation and well kept throughout. Good quality breakfast and service. Only black mark was on the Saturday evening they took a lot of arm twisting to serve drinks in the bar even though there were lots of residents looking for the same thing. However, we would definately use the hotel again despite this.

I got to the hotel and was told that there were 'maintenance' issues so I was moved to the Berjaya Eden Park. I had booked a deluxe double room at the Park Grand but the room I was given at the Berjaya was a tiny, dingy twin room. I asked if there were any double rooms available but there were none. So I had to ask for an upgrade which costed an additional £35 per night. The upgraded room was much better.

This hotel Chain has a reputation of moving customers to other locations. I was moved to one down the road and then placed in a "suite" on the other side of the road. This turned out to be a basement location smelling badly of damp and mildew, with not much more than a sheet of plasterboard separating it from the next room, the occupants of which stayed up all night till leaving at 05.00 with much crashing and banging. Managed to get moved to a better room in the "suites" across the road for the second night after some difficult debate with reception. The suites are marketed separately and barely have standing room but do have basic facilities for microwaving food etc. Continental breakfast which was provided in the second hotel, ie not the one booked, was OK.

When I arrived at the hotel at 21h30 and presented my voucher, I was told that a taxi was waiting outside to take me to another hotel nearby. I was told the hotel had no rooms available despite my booking having been made and confirmed 48 hours prior to my arrival. I was asked to pay my bill with this hotel as the other hotel (sister hotel) had already been paid. Despite my insistance, I was not offered any alternatives. I was driven by taxi to the Marylebone Hotel which took a good 15 minutes. Upon my arrival, all was fine but that was little comfort to me. I was told by the taxi driver (private hire) that this seems to happen all the time with this hotel chain (Doyle Collection). Totally unacceptable.

Pleasant enough rooms & quiet location. Only problem I found is due to age of property if the person above started to move about, the noise of floofboards & joists creaking is more than enough to wake you up. Down to luck of the draw if other guests will keep you awake or not .Surely it's not hard for hotels to isolate noise between floors ? It's mandatory for flat conversions of old buildings, so why not for Hotels :(

I was in London for 4 days over easter and stayed at the park gate hotel. Upon arrival I was informed that they could not swipe my credit card, so they spent 1/2 an hour writing on bits of paper before giving me my room key.I had a delux room, which was tiny and had an ironing board and iron thrown in the corner as there was no wardrobe or cupboard to put it in. The one upside was the shower, and bath they were great. When I checked out I was informed they did not accept American Express even a Corporate one. Whilst checking out there were two couples there complaining about the service they received and getting absolutely nowhere. When I informed them they could either take the American Express or I was walking out the door (after 1/2 an hour of them fumbling around behind the desk) they decided they would accept an American Express. I was not however able to get an itemised receipt from them, which is unacceptabe when on company travel. So they wrote out a receipt by hand.Would never stay here again!

We booked on the fact that for £75 this hotel was described as a 4 star hotel and unlike similar proced rooms that were available this was a delux room. The hotel was located in a pleasant street that did not suffer from lots of road noise. On checking in we were told that the hotel was fully booked for the night . We asked if we could see another room as the one we had been allocated was next the lift and we could hear the noise it made. We eventually were shown another room which was a little larger than the original so we accepted this. When we switched the Tv on it appeared not to work. So we tried to phone the freception but the phone did not work either. After a trip to reception I was handled very gruffly and told that the whole hotel had a problem with TV , internet and the phones. No apology just siad this was the case. We had particularly wanted to watch the large flat screen Tv so was dissapointed. When we returned later the TV was working ad great picture and sound on probably a 40inch set. If the staff had explained the problems when we first checked in we would not have felt quite so upset. The staff / customer service is what lets the hotel down. this was mentioned on some previuos reviews so this isa recurring theme.

Was ideal for a 1 night stay but wouldnt want to stay longer. Not much wardrobe space and although we didnt use the workstation, it was a nice idea that the desk folded out from the wall but there was no chair. The bed was comfortable but due to family member being taken ill we had to leave in the early hours.

This is a brand new hotel with gorgeous rooms. Pay the extra for a Club room to get the extra space in the room, separate shower in the bathroom, a bottle of wine, fruit and bottled water on arrival. If you go for a normal double room, the room space is minimal and you will get a wetroom for a bathroom, which is annoying as everything gets wet. There are teething problems with the service from the staff, I would describe it as quite unorganised; the staffs do their best to help you when there is a problem. You cannot argue with the cost of staying at this brand new hotel, as it is so much less to stay here then other hotels nearby. Appears there could be something dodgy going on at this hotel, as a man entered out room in the middle of night and when we awoke and saw him at the bottom of the bed, he rushed out of the room and down the corridor. We rang reception who did nothing to reassre us and simply said they must have entered the wrong room. Really?!!! We were in shock to have woken to a man in our room and felt scared. We went down to reception to express our concerns. When we got to reception the guy who had entered our room was sat in reception, all looked very cosy. The Night Deputy Manager was very defensive and unsympathetic. After expressing our concerns about our saftey we eventually got a half-hearted apology and explanation. Duty Manager claimed the man had been staying in the hotel and had come down to reception to print out his boarding card, however had got locked out and the Manager gave him a key without checking what room and gave our's which was apparently next door. We were told that this man was checking out to go the airport. As we were leaving reception the man asked for his lugguage from the lugguage room - so if he had his room until he was checking out like we had been told why was his lugguage in the lugguage room?!!! Plus if the man got locked out if his room why did he even try our door - surely he would have trued his door with the room key and when it didn't work would he not return to reception?!!! I think security could be an issue at the hotel as we had double locked our door but the key card had overriden this when we were in bed asleep. This happened on the our first night and it really affected our sleep as it was had to sleep after what had happened. Therefore my advice stay away.

The wardrobe consisted of a wooden panel in the wall, once located the debth of the so called wardrobe was 5 inches. The 2nd room had no tea/coffee facilities and there was no wardrobe in this room, jut a hat stand. Most disappointing.

Queens Gardens does not exist on the oppposite side of the street, and it turns into Devonshire Terrace and other streets in both directions. Better to find Cleveland Square first, then take it from there. Surprisingly nice hotel, expecially the bathrooms and glass-enclosed showers. Indian staff is very attentive.

The room wasn't as 'deluxe' as I'd quite hoped and the 'wet room' felt a little cramped.TV worked fine and was adequate. Bed felt quite short and was taken up mainly by large yet uncomfortable pillows. Would not have paid full price for this hotel. Felt rather cheated that if we'd booked direct, breakfast was thrown in free yet prices still discounted. Why can't they offer that through this site. Staff didn't tell us about the facilities that were available such as swimming pool etc or club rooms.

Location was good with many tube stations nearby. The lobby was modern with beautiful real flowers, we liked it. Our twin room was quite small. We didn't have beds of our own, matresses were separated a little bit in the double bed. The bathroom was really nice and new. We asked quiet room, because there were only single windows in the rooms. That is why our room was on the back of the house. The room was really quiet, which was nice, because we wanted to sleep. But it was a room without any view. We were wondering why the room is called twin deluxe! The phone was not working during our stay, though we asked the staff whether it could be fixed. Some of the staff did not make effort to be polite, although others did.

The Hotel said that they had some problems with a leak when we went to check in and tried to move us around five miles further out of London. They also tried to give us a single room that was occupied !Lots of guests were being moved some even being moved from other sister hotels to the Grand . It was only whilst talking to other guests that it became apparent that the hotel had double booked lots of rooms and this was a regular occurance. It was only our determination not to move hotels or cancel our booking as we had a function to attend nearby that forced the staff to give us another room. They initially said they had no rooms available with the same leak excuse. There was no understanding of the distress they caused us or the acceptance that they could have told us that they had problems when we rang to enquire about car parking at the hotel, or rang to inform us. Whilst the room we ended up in was fine, the attitude of the staff was unacceptable.

Value for money and great location for my requirements. London is a very strange place when it comes to Hotels and this one didn't disappoint me. Got a good deal off late rooms and was perfectly happy with what I got. I would recommend for business trips but unlikely to want to stay there with family and friends. Lots of moaning on other reviews about space and I understand that if you forget you are in one of the greatest cities in the world. As far as my experience went - it was clean, I got checked in/out quickly, my room had what I needed to spend a night (was out in the city for most of it). Only negative comment(s) would be that reception members shouldn't click their fingers when guests are around and manager very proud of the sound of their own voice.

The rooms are small but modern and contemporary. Also very clean and comfortable. We found there were no normal tea bags, (only earl grey and peppermint) which was a minor issue yet annoying. Worst of all when trying to sleep at night the air conditioning kept us awake. Even when we turned it off it was still making funny noises which drove us barmy, so we left it on and just got used to it! We felt it was too late at night to sort this out with reception. Also the breakfast wasn't the best, it was pretty good except for the scrambled egg and mushrooms which were really watery and cold. Hash brown, bacon, sausage and beans were great though. Overall not a great experience really which is a shame as the hotel looks promising...

When I asked for the room service menu, I was given a leaflet from a local pizza delivery shop - not impresed. My husband went up to the bar to get a couple of drinks and was surprised to hear that they didn't serve drinks due to them not having a drinks licence! The "state of the art fitness suite" was a tiny room with two bits of equipment in it and the lights were hanging down from the ceiling and didn't work. One of the main reasons for booking the hotel was that it said 3 mins from Paddington station & I was a woman business traveller alone. In fact it was 10 mins walk but more importantly you had to go up a quiet side street - I felt very uneasy about my safety. When I arrived the customer service was very friendly & efficient & a porter immediately came out to help me get my suitcase up the stairs. I was put in a basement room with no safety on the windows so I asked to move which they did immediately with a pleasant attitude. I then asked for a menu for the restaurant but they said there was no restaurant as it wasn't ready . I said this was one of the reasons I'd booked it & that their web site clearly said there was a restaurant. Even when I must have sounded annoyed all they said was "we can order you a pizza madam" & they didn't even offer to pay for it, although they did pay for a glass of wine to placate me. They had to fetch the wine from a sister hotel as they didn't have a licence. The room was exceptionally clean & well designed - still smelt brand new with a large comfortable double bed with nice linen, but it was tiny - basically the circumference of the bed. Not at all like the pictures on their web site. There was no bath, but the shower was lovely - fast flowing & hot. And there were plenty of bathroom toiletries provided. Good tea, coffee & biscuit facilities provided, but they didn't top up on the 2nd night of my stay. Good, large flat screen T.V. Overall reasonable value for London @ £79 per night through late rooms. Wouldn't stay again but purely down to the representation on their web site about having a restaurant. Nothing quite so annoying when you're hungry & tired after a long day in the office.

The room was fairly spartan - dark brown wood, bright lights, lime green curtains. The double bed was very comfortable and the aircon was effective and reasonably quiet. The room had no view, facing into the rest of the building. The receptionist had a poor command of English - I gave in trying to ask for a taxi at 20 to 7 that evening as she couldn't understand the time I meant and seemed to think all taxis must be for Heathrow! I asked a porter to help but when I arrived at the arranged time there was no taxi and I went and found my own nearby.Given the location and uninterrupted night, £85 for a double room wasn't bad value but not sure it would be my choice again

Its still not finished! The bits that are, are very good, everything clean, bright and gleaming but.. no bar, " SorrySir, we don't have a licence", the restaurant wasn't ready, the pool and fitness suite not open. Unfortunately the hotel online details omit to say this, likewise the on screen TV hotel guide, which appears to have superceded the standard paper version in a plastic folder. So it was a trip down the road to the off licence for a bottle and then out to a local eatery ( lots of choice) when I really did not feel like going out on a wet stormy night. The wet room just doesn't work, good try, but its too small to keep some where dry to stand and dry yourself. Some good bits, free upgrade to junior suite, 4 SKY Sports channels ( unheard of in a hotel), cumfy bed, modern decor ( which doesn't necessarily sit with high ceilings and plaster mouldings). Breakfast at £12 could have been good, but they havent worked out how to keep food hot - or even warm for that matter. There seemed to be lots of staff, both at reception and at breakfast. I got the feeling they were as bewildered as we were! When finished it should be OK - just make sure you know what you are getting.

The hotel itself was newly opened but advertised itself as having a restaurant and room service. I booked on this basis as being a woman travelling alone, I usually like to have room service rather than have to find somewhere to eat. However, I discovered that the restaurant wasn't open and so they weren't offering room service. They did have a bar that served some food (burgers and pizza etc), but they hadn't received their drink licence yet. In the end I had to go out and try and find somewhere to eat that I wouldn't be too uncomfortable in. The room itself was clean and the bed very comfortable, however, I had problems getting to sleep due to the noise of running water that seemed to be a tank filling up. Also, the bathroom had the toilet roll holder near to the floor and ended up getting soaked when you had a shower (which was such a small space the curtain sticks to you). I would stay here again, once it's up and running properly, but only at the reduced rate I got it at. Definitely wouldn't pay full price.

I think this could be a good hotel when it has been completed. It is very new and there are many "teething problems" at the moment. When I stayed at the hotel there were workmen everywhere still finishing the hotel off.The worst thing about it was the check in experience. I arrived at 2pm and the lobby was full of people waiting to check in. The computer system had just failed and the front desk staff were running about like headless chickens. While two of them stared blankly at a computer screen the other three just looked on. Very little effort was made to explain to the customers what was happening. I was very surprised that a manager or supervisior did not appear to take charge of the problem. Eventually after half an hour someone decided to process the check ins manually - which was very slow and the concept of a queue did not exist by this time because the lobby was so full. My check in took 40 minutes in total. No apology was given. The room was quite small but very nicely furnished. The wardrobe was very small and the safe could not be opened (I called the front desk about this but noone ever appeared to resolve the issue for me). This hotel claims to be a 4* but at the moment it is no more than a 3* for me.
