Fantastic Stay

My wife and I spent a night at Montcalm, it was a great experience. The staff were very attentive, focused on providing a great experience and very friendly. We were upgraded and the room was fantastic. Have stayed in many London hotels but this one is very good. Would def recommend the hotel and will stay again.

Shopping break in London

Excellent location, friendly service, good value for money, modern boutique atmosphere. Sky T.V. Wi-fi.Tea making facilities. Generally excellent.
The only complaint we had was the room was a little too compact.

Well appointed but tiny room

The hotel is appointed to a very high standard and although close to Marble Arch is in a quiet spot.
The one drawback considering the cost is that the room was tiny. There was hardly enough space to get past the bed from any side.

Two night break

Great location and service from the staff. Room was small, dark and faint smell of cigar smoke. Not much benefit from its recent refurbishment , which has lost some of its character. Disappointed as we had enjoyed visiting before its reopening.

This is the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in, in London. Everything was top class,I didn't unfortunately get chance to sample the food, as I was out for dinner and up and out early next morning, the room was fantastic, the amount of detail, the little extra's set it aside, I will definitely be back

Compact 5* with excellent (free) spa

If you can get a double for less than £200, it is worth taking. Everything new and sparkling. Breakfast ludicrously expensive - good French cafe opposite. Marble Arch area pretty tacky if you don't know how to escape.

A bit of a let down

Hotel location great, hotel building great.
But just let itself down by the following, couldnt find my bill that had been paid in advance, spell from bathroom stale water, that was reported but nothing was done to fix this, other than an air freshner put in room, but this didint sort out the problem.
Overall it falls short of the type of service I expect and have in other 5* hotels, I would put it as 3*- average!
Such a shame as it could be fantastic!

The room

We had a Club Room at the Montcalm. It was nicely decorated, very comfortable and we liked the glass screen between the room and the bathroom so we could watch TV in the bath!! There was an electric privacy screen though!

It's what going to London is all about!!

This was our third time at The Moncalm and it never disappoints! There is always a warm welcome for the front of house staff. We found all staff to be courteous and helpful. Our visits to London are usually to go to the theatre, but part of the enjoyment is returning to The Moncalm, I cant imagine staying anywhere else!!!

Pre-Christmas Nightmare Stay

On first arrival was allocated a room "below the ground floor" i.e the basement. I asked whether it was possible to have a higher floor and away from the lifts. I was allocated a room on the 5th floor, on the back of the lifts, which was as large as a wardrobe with a prison cell size window. To be fair they moved me again - but it was pretty obvious the previous guest had been smoking in the room even though this is a non-smoking hotel. I was to embarassed to complain again so stuck with it. Big mistake - with the lingering smell and poor pillows it spoiled what was a lovely & stylish room with a nice bathroom.
Room service was a disaster - 15 minutes late when I rang to remind them as they had overlooked the order - and the worst Chicken Caesar salad ever.
I stay at a lot of hotels throughout the year but as for the Montcalm - I won't be going back!

Not the best

This would have to be the most disorganized hotel we have stayed at. We have stayed at many 5 star hotels throughout the world and this is one I would not recommend to anyone. Not professional at all. Club lounge very disappointed. Club room small and badly designed.
All in all not a pleasant stay

Small but good!

The room I was allocated at this hotel was very comfortable with all the amenities expected of a hotel at this level. The room was very small though - and although fine for a lone traveler it would have been cramped for two people.

Not worth the money

The hotel is beautifully presented and you can see a lot of money has been spent on the refurbishment. This unfortunately is the only positive thing I can say about the hotel. The staff are very inefficient, the rooms are small and when it comes to value for money I would rather be staying at one of the many other 5* hotels in the area.

The Montcalm Hotel

The reason why i booked this hotel was the website was easy to use and read the pictures where great and i thought the price was good for this location. When i entered the hotel i was greeted with a very warm welcome and after given my name they had everything down about me that i requested. The room was excellent laid out very well with nice finishing touches. The breakfast in the morning was very good in a very personnel room with other diners. The one compliant i have and it is not a big one on checking out we left our luggage behind (one suitcase and one bag) to go round london on our return about six hours later we handed our ticket to the reception 25minutes later we got our bags, as i said not a massive problem because we were not in a rush. I would recommend this hotel all the time, i loved it.

Super Hotel, great location, club like atmosphere and worthy of ratings

A very nice boutique hotel. Super location and very helpful staff. One minor stumble with the time my room was cleaned, but this was well handled. Accommodations are small, but very nicely decorated and housekeeping to a superior standard. Comfortable beds and good bathrooms with no water or pressure issues. I will be staying again this weekend, and again in July. Great Hotel.
