This hotel is a little gem in the Centre of London. The staff and the hotel are exceptional and I would not hesitate to recommend or return to it.

Summary
Nice hotel, great room but £50 for 2 breakfast's that are over cooked is a rip off.......very disappointed!
Summary
On first arrival was allocated a room "below the ground floor" i.e the basement. I asked whether it was possible to have a higher floor and away from the lifts. I was allocated a room on the 5th floor, on the back of the lifts, which was as large as a wardrobe with a prison cell size window. To be fair they moved me again - but it was pretty obvious the previous guest had been smoking in the room even though this is a non-smoking hotel. I was to embarassed to complain again so stuck with it. Big mistake - with the lingering smell and poor pillows it spoiled what was a lovely & stylish room with a nice bathroom.
Room service was a disaster - 15 minutes late when I rang to remind them as they had overlooked the order - and the worst Chicken Caesar salad ever.
I stay at a lot of hotels throughout the year but as for the Montcalm - I won't be going back!
Cannot fault this place - will definitely stay here again when in London
