Upon arrival the staff were extremely friendly. The rooms were very nice, although we couldn't get used to our air conditioning system! So spent most of the time either freezing cold or boiling hot! That took nothing away from what a fantastic time my friends and I had. The Turkish style menu for our dinner was superb! Yet we did find the breakfast a tad over priced, we still payed it and left with our tummys full! A service charge was automatically put onto each bill, 12.5% was a bit extreme, but then again we were at the Mayfair! All in all a very clean and luxurious hotel! Would definitely recommend!

I booked this hotel last minute as my club was fully booked, the hotel is excellent if a little pricey first class service, nice room wonderful ambiance will book again if I can afford it.
Summary
Not bad, but not the best - was booked on Seasonal special rate, but was offered none of the benefits (didn't ask for them because I thought I might not have booked under that rate). Have since contacted hotel and have been offered complimentary upgrade next visit, not sure if I will go back.
Summary
A beautiful hotel, fantastic location, very attentive staff. Junior Suite was fab.
Summary
Public areas and staff very good.
Room facilities poor (no dressing table/desk. Open plan wardrobe in bathroom. Bathroom very dusty.
We had a fantastic time, would recommend the Mayfair as its situated close to all the attractions and the westend. The hotel has the wow factor.
Summary
Room nice and large but showing it's age. Bed very comfortable. Little things wrong such as missing ironing board and broken toilet roll holder and old style tube TV. Got the impression room was one given to people booking through a discount web site. Had to wait until 4pm as room was not ready at 3pm as advertised. Hotel suited our needs ie right in centre of London.
Summary
We arrived at the Mayfair and did not have a pleasant experience on checking in, we booked 2 rooms and cant understand why the same receptionist could have checked both our rooms in at the same time as we were asked to check in seperately which caused a lot of confusion , we would definitely stay at the Mayfair in the future but would recommend that they review there check in procedures to make it smoother and less hassle as we experienced
Summary
My reason for booking the May Fair was to provide my wife with a real treat including a posh hotel and a trip to the theatre. We said we would be arriving at the Mair fair at 3pm but turned up at 12noon, our room was available (not expected) and we got a free upgrade to a better room (defintitely not expected). We were also treated to a mini guide/introduction to the hotel which was great. The room was fab, the bar service was great, breakfast the next day was extensive and checkout was swift and painless. My wife was absolutely delighted with the hotel and so was I.

Summary
Great location, very profesional and good service, breakfast was a little dissapointing, no cutlery and food was a little dissapointing also a wobbly table which is fairly anoying. Could not fault the staff they were very willing and kind. The bar was great and a good atmosphere in the afternoon. We had a very nice lunch, always going to be expensive though... Our room was a little dissapointing in size and the decor could have been touched up for, £280 per night I would expect it to be imaculate decor.. All in all we had a great weekend at the hotel and I would defiatley recomend to others.
Summary
Booked a weekend here to celebrate my husbands birthday costing me just short of £700...we had to be moved 3 times due to being disappointed with the quality of the rooms (they were not as shown on the website of either late rooms or the hotel site) The hotel lacked any sort of wow factor that i have found in other similarly priced hotels such as the Four Seasons, The Sanderson group ones and The W . The customer service was extremely lacking and each time i had a problem they were very quick to say sorry but slow and incompetent when resolving the issues - I would never stay here again or suggest this place to a friend!!!
Summary
Stylish hotel, good location, nice room and good service. For the centre of Mayfair the price was reasonable but it can be topped up with a £25 per head breakfast which always hurts but is the norm unfortunately !
Summary
When we arrived at the hotel we waited at least 15 minutes to check-in, then to be told our rooms were not ready (2.45pm) but to complete the check-in process then we could just collect our keys later. We went back later only to have to queue again and have to go through the whole process again. Once we finally got to our room we were disturbed twice within 15 minutes by staff just knocking on the door and walking straight in. On checking out they then tried to charge us for breakfast which was included. The whole experience was very disappointing for a supposed 5 star hotel.
Summary
Great Hotel, have enjoyed every time I stay their.
Fantastic Bar and Nobu across the road, perfect place to entertain or be entertained in London.
Only slight critism is the cost of parking and the wait to get your car (40 mins).
Great service, beautiful room - a little clinical but very well appointed, would recommend staying. Grace from the check in team was really welcoming. Bar too busy to get served after coming back from dinner but staff were trying to get all customers served as soon as possible.
Summary
Very good experience, would stay again
Summary
Great Hotel, Great location Green park metro stop is 1 minute away. Would encourage anybody who wants to spoil themselves for a weekend away in London to stay at the Mayfair.
Summary
Having agreed to pay £191/night my expectations were set very high and whilst the size of the Queen Superior Double was not great I was not disappointed. The reception area is where the Hotel excelled where I had one one the best check-ins ever. The Hotel receptionist had my keys ready in seconds and we also smart and pleasant at a very late hour of the evening! Will return for a longer stay at next opportunity.
Summary
Excellent staff. Very welcoming and friendly. Seen some bad comments regarding staff but we didn't come across anybody that was rude and unfriendly. Lovely spacious room with very comfy bed. Peaceful nights sleep. Food delicious, would highly recommend afternoon tea.
Summary
I loved the hotel. It has been tastefully refurbished and worthy of being voted one of the best hotels in London.
Summary
Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that I would get the opportunity to stay somewhere as beautiful as the Mayfair Hotel. Customer service was fantastic. We asked for an ironing board which was sent up straight away. Also, we were contacted in the evening to check that everything was fine. The hotel was exceptionally clean, comfortable and welcoming. A bonus to my night was that it was the perfect setting for my partner to propose to me. Certainly a stay that I will never forget.
Everything was great, we stopped in a Studio Room with a large bathroom, walk in shower and twin sinks. The bed was very large with living space including sofa, chairs and table, good gadgets, chocolates in the room and plenty of towels, bathrobes etc.
We ate in the Amba Bar and Grill which was great food, great service, perfect!
The only complaint would be that we checked in at 5pm (usual check in from 3pm) and were told our room wasn't ready but we were offered free tea, coffee and mice pies in their Amba Bar and were taken to our room 20 mins later.
All in all, a great stay again.
Room not ready (at 16.00) and had to push for an alternative.
Recommended with reservation regarding reservations!!
Negatives:
We had a serious issue with our room in that we booked a junior suite, only to discover after arrival that this type of accomodation had been overbooked. Moreover, we discovered this once we had arrived in our, heavily compromised (shape, view), room, having been charged the full Suite price at Reception upon check-in, with no mention of the problem!
We then had to have an extended argument with the guest relations manager to get anywhere near a satisfactory part-rebate. Disgraceful.
On the upside...
This is clearly a remarkable hotel- great decor, fabulous central location, extremely impressive public areas. I imagine I could have a much better visit on another occassion where things run smoothly.
All above absolutely brilliant. Staff extremely polite food exceptional. I'd recommend to anyone. I regularly stay at hotels in London The May Fair being the first time. I will endeavour to stay there all the time. My address may be a London address but live abroad.
Summary
Booked a room at the May Fair for a special celebratory weekend and on arrival was upgraded to The Schiaparelli suite.
Not quite sure how we got so lucky but the room(s) is awesome. Huge bed, bath, lounge area, shower, sound system the list goes on check out the photos on the website.
Laterooms is definitely worth it; not so much value for money as a steal!
Useful central site in London. Room basic, minimal. Broken glass wrapped in sealed cling film in bottom of a cupboard. Kept awake by noisy guests partying on their private terrace at 4.30.a.m. Rang reception for assistance. No obvious change in noise levels. Duty Manager the next morning informed us that nothing could be done until the Next day! Not good enough. We were booking out that morning. Have yet to be contacted by the hotel 36 hours later other than a standard online Hotel Review. Is this a good way to treat guests?
Summary
I must admit to being dissapointed by this hotel. There are usually paparazzi hanging around at the entrance as the May Fair is favoured by celebs. But I fail to see why, the hotel is branded as 5 star, but doesnt live up to that hype, there are many better 5 star hotels in London.
I arrived at the hotel at 3PM, the published check-in time, yet my double deluxe room wasn't ready and I was left to wait for 45 minutes, offered only the meagre compensation of a soft drink.
The room itself was OK, but I was surprised to find that the only bathroom toiletries are in wall mounted cannisters which might be OK on a budget hotel, but in a 5 star hotel, charging 5 star prices, I really expect to have a proper selection of upscale soaps and toiletries.
On the plus side, the hotel has free wi-fi, and the location is good.
I was charged for breakfast even though it was included it took sevaral calls to get my money back upon my return. Other guests seemed to have the same problem but were also charged!
Room and bathroom were nice and leisure facilities were good.
We stayed at the Mayfair Hotel as a treat for our 5th wedding anniversary. The hotel smells lovely when you walk in. We were early for check in but were able to store our luggage. Staff were really friendly throughout our stay. .
We’d booked the deluxe room which was spacious and clean. The bathroom was big which included the wardrobes, trouser press and hair dryer. There isn't a dressing table in the room.
We went out for a meal but had a drink in the bar which was expensive but has a good atmosphere to it. My husband enjoyed talking to the paparazzi outside while having a cigarette!! We’d stop in this hotel again.

Our room stank of cigarettes, absolutely disgusting!

A couple of problems with other guests, we were made to feel important and well looked after.
