Good welcome on arriving late at the hotel with very efficient check in. The bar area was pleaseant and again good service.
The room was very small even for a single and was very tired with walls marked and paintwork all needing attention. The Bathroom was evry small and the sink so small that it was very difficult to use.
I would not stop at this hotel again and have had very much better rooms for similar price in London

Not your usual busy busy kind of hotel

We were treated very well and the room we were given was very good. The staff are excellent. It is a cosy hotel with a country house feel about it. If you are looking for a modern style hotel then this is not for you. It had a warming fire in the reception area and a very comfortable bar. We would definately return.

Very Happy Across the Board

My husband and I stayed at the Leonard Hotel for two nights with our 2 year old. The staff and service (and understanding provided given the youngster) were excellent. Everyone was exceedingly polite and helpful. We were more than impressed with the suite and amenities - surprisingly spacious and very clean. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel, and were happy with the quality. The close proximity to the tube was also a significant plus. We will be travelling again to London later this year, and fully intend on staying at the Leonard again.

#17 is a very small room

I don't think #17 is in the main portion of the hotel. I think it's an annex. In any case, it is small. Very small. However, the room was clean (must be very quick to clean it) and the staff are nice. I stayed there during a work trip and was not in my room for long, so the tiny room didn't really bother me. But, if you need space, I would not sugest #17.

The room (20) was very small, which whilst adequate for sleeping made getting ready to go out a little more challenging than normal, especially wanting to use the in-room iron ( but no board).
The Bathroom sink plug was not connected to the lift handle - therefore emptying the sink was problematic. This only came to my notice when using the sink and I was not in a position to bring it to the attention of the Hotel ( which I did when I checked out).
The quality of the TV reception was poor with ghosting across all channels.
The reception service was excellent, the porter was efficient and unexpected to have a carry-to-room service in a smaller hotel. The restaurant service staff were excellent. The breakfast was excellent. The restuarant layout and standard was very good. I liked the fact the food was full service - not buffet style.

The staff were delightful, very helpful and pleasant. My room was immaculately prepared for my arrival also the next day. The English breakfst was absolutely great, good quality, superbly cooked, well presented and served - possibly the best breakfast I can recall! Upon leaving my bill was quickly prepared and accurate, all very efficient.

Great little hotel

Long overdue return to one of london's nicest and best located small hotels. Staff are all charming and helpful. Salad from room service was delicious and good value. Highly recommended.

Single room

Few hotels offer single rooms and when they do it is a shoe box. it was pretty small at the Leonard but not irritatingly so. I needed to catch up on sleep after an overnight flight and it was close to perfect. i didn't want the tv but had I so wished, one wd not have been able to view it from the bed. none of the radio programmes were aequately tuned wh was the only real drawback.

Small is an understatement!

I read the reviews before staying, generally good but was saddened when I checked in that I indeed had been given the room that another reviewer described as 'a piece of sectioned off corridor'! I could not have described it better! the single bed touched the walls on 3 sides with just standing space between the bed and window on the 4th side. The TV had no reception. The lighting was poor. I do not know what the double rooms are like but I would NEVER book a single room at this hotel, not even at the reduced rate!

Don't stay in Room 17

I cannot comment on the rest of the hotel but do not let them give you room 17; it is a converted landing in a stairwell so it is very, very small and freezing cold. The heating did not work on a night when it was -2C outside (and inside by the end of the night) and the bathroom was filthy with peeling wallpaper and mold around the skirting board. It may only be one room that I have experienced but I will never stay at the hotel again.
