I was very pleased with the service from the start at check in, through to my departure. Anything i needed staff on the other end of the phone could help. The heating seemed to not kick in straight away, someone was not long into our room to sort this out. It just ended up needing some time to kick in. The hotel is in the perfect place to get out and about to all the right places. I would book the Lancaster again when coming down to London.

Room basic, luxury bathroom never transpired. Room Service arrived promptly, but smothered in ketchup (not mentioned on menu) rendering it inedible for my young son. Very dissapointing. However reception staff and concierge were 10/10.

I booked the Lancaster after reading many reviews of hotels in the Paddington area. The location, so close to paddington Station, was brilliant. We even enjoyed views of Hyde Park from our twin room. The room was large in comparison to many in London, the bathroom was spotless and the beds comfy.

At least I got a good price on the room. I know space is at a premium in London but this was cramped and unwelcoming; I was allocated a twin not a double and had waited so long in the queue to check in (at nearly 11pm!) that I couldn't bear the thought of re-queuing to complain, but I had clearly specified a double in my booking. I also wasn't convinced that I had a 'park view': I could just about see a small part of the park at one corner of the window. This wasn't something that bothered me especially, but it was what I had booked. Service was generally unfriendly and on the whole I would have no hesitation in not recommending this hotel.

Really well placed for getting around London via the tube or the bus tours. All staff were really helpful. Room was of a good size and well priced (in my opinion) for London. I would highly recommend this to a friend or family member if they were wanting a break in London.

Evening meal in the Tai restaurant was really good and not too pricey.Breakfast was a different matter!Quite expensive for what we had and be aware of the 'Breakfst Deal', we ordered two courses, as the minimum amount we could have was £12.00: but then the staff gave us fresh juice and toast as 'part of our breakast', then tried to charge us extra for it when the bill arrived!

Unfortunately had to send my meal back as the lamb shank was very tough. When the replacement meal arrived, the side vegetables that came with the original meal were cold - they said they would re-heat them which I didn't think befitted a £50 meal. They offered replacement vegetables and tried to charge me for two lots of veg and even added a 12.5% service charge to the bill. Total bill £48 reduced to £39 on complaint. They said someone would be in touch with my feedback - to date no contact, hence this review.

I don' t consider myself as a difficult client, but working in the hotel business makes me aware of both clients'expextations and the hoteller's obligations and sometimes limitations. I can only compliments the Royal Lancaster for its perfect location, its very friendly and helpful staff, very clean & well equipped rooms. Great value for money. We were so impressed that we decided to come back the following week. Would recommend and will definitely return.

It has brilliant tube link right next to the hotel which made life very easy. The hotel was clean and the service was very efficient all great value at £99 plus vat! I would recommend it.

The hotel is very impresive from the outside. The staff are friendly but they told us we could not go into breakfast as we had not booked it, we later found out that we could. The breakfast was not as good as we expected, for £20 each we wanted more choice. The hotel is located well and we enjoyed our trip to London. It is a good base to enoy the sights.

Stayed here on business - would not pay the full amount though as tad expensive - easy to find as very near Lancaster Gate Tube. Food very expensive but about 15 minute walk up towards Paddington where various shops/resteaurents/fast food.Had room at back of hotel and very quiet, hotel staff really helpful and plenty of tea and coffee in room.

We had an excellent weekend in the Lancaster London in October, and when we needed to return in November, we choose this hotel again without hesitation. A decent room, excellent and very helpful staff, good value for money (although the ancillary services, such as breakfast, car parking, room service quite pricey). Excellent location in central London, ideal for a weekend break. We fully recommend this hotel.

Booked a special weekend break through "Laterooms" at the lancaster London. Booked a very nice room Executive Double with Park View on the 31st Oct.Fantastic Stay with all the trimmings and service to match!Arrived at the Hotel Sat morning at 10:30 am and was greeted by the doorman who took our luggage in and parked the car for us. we were expecting to cheek in and leave our bags because the room would not be available till 2pm,......But to my great surprise, we had been up-graded to the Connaught Suite Room 1627 on the 16th floor and could go straight to the suite. Fabulous Room with great views over Hyde Park and the Italian Fountains. Room service and bar staff were great and all personnel, from concierge to reception to doorman.Even had Champagne & chocolate dipped strawberries left in our room on our return in the afternoon after shopping in Oxford Street. The hotel is well placed for a weekend in town, central to the park, shopping in West End and Westfield shopping centre and also top theatre's and restaurant's! (we did all in the two days, Maze, Mamma Mia and Westfields on Sunday as the Checkout time of hotel and opening of Westfiels matched...Noon!,.....how great is that!!All in all, a great stay and would most definitely book here again without hesitation.Well done laterooms and The Lancaster London for making a very special stay in London.Mark.S.Irving.

Hotel service was good, although was woken up before checking out time by a knocking on the door and the cleaning lady nearly walked in. Apart from that the service was excellent. The room was clean although maybe a little used. However, the beds were really comfy and the shower had spectacular strength. The area was lovely and was very handy to have a tube station behind the hotel and one of the bus tours close by.

We had an unforgetable weekend in the Royal Lancaster! The room was incredible: amazing space, unbelieveable view, and insane value for money. The catch: In the special requests part we mentioned that it was a wedding anniversary and a birthday celebration...so they upgraded us to an incredible suite! The price we had was good for a normal room, but for this top floor suite!!?? 2 seperate rooms, the living area incliuded a dining table, soft chairs to seat 7 people, 2 plasmas, 3 walls with external windows (270deg view of London!), unobscured view of Hyde park, AND a specially made birthday cake waiting for me in the room with balloons! ;-)We didn't eat in the hotel as the reason for the trip was to go to Corrigans Restaurant (again fabulous!) so the food rating is based on the amazing victoria sponge cake - layer upon layer of delicate sponge, strawberries and fresh cream, all perfectly iced with super sweet icing...and with my name on it! :-)Breakfast wasn't included, but we thoroughly enjoyed eating a late breakfast in the outdoors in Hyde Park - incredible for 24th October! So I cannot fault this hotel at all. It made what promised to be a great weekend completely unforgettable. However the weather, the trip to Corrigans, and the special treatment on the upgrade all had their part to play in that and I would not be expecting to get that if I stayed there again....

For the price I paid, I expect substance, not just a good looking hotel. The hotel itself looks great...however, the fact the room service I ordered was cold and the fact that the none of the TV stations worked - no one decided to mention this when I was checking in, only after fiddling with the remote for half an hour and calling them did they advise. No real genuine apology either, so not hugely happy with this, especially for the price and what I expected.
