Birthday weekend trip May 2012

Really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. We liked the decor, and the staff were very helpful. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to an executive room because it was my birthday, and the room was really lovely - very spacious. We had a drink in the bar - liked the surroundings, and breakfast in the morning is £10 per person if you book it the night before. The breakfast buffet was very good. Also, there is a bus-stop outside the hotel where you can catch a bus back to Liverpool St station - really useful for us. The location in general was great, so central. Ideal for walking to Covent Garden, a bit longer walk to Oxford St but not too far.

Our two night break

We enjoyed our stay at the Kingsley. Our room was compact but comfortable with a very clean bathroom and fluffy towels. The breakfast staff were very attentive, considerate and helpful. There was plenty of choice at the breakfast buffet. Just a couple of points that could be improved. firstly a decent daily newspaper that could be taken to the lounge. Secondly, the reception and lounge areas were very cold and did not make you want to linger there. In the evening a few nibbles could be served with aperitifs to make the experience more enjoyable. However we will certainly return as the Hotel is a gem and in a superb position.Thank you!

Overnight stay for show

The hotel was very convenient to the tube and Oxford Street, no need to take extra tubes, main shopping area was accessible on foot. Also very close to Theatre in Soho. Cleanliness and surroundings were excellent. We ate in the restaurant in the evening as it looked a good menu. Service was friendly and timely however the food was disappointing. Plates were cold and food did not appear to have been prepared from fresh ingredients at that time. Gave a second chance with breakfast and again the plates were cold so the food soon cooled. I would eat elsewhere if I stayed again.

Great Location Lovely Hotel

We took a chance on this hotel as the one we usually use was fully booked - had read some reviews. Hotel was lovely, really nicely finished to an excellent standard. Room very comfortable, nicely laid out, super size and the bathroom was beautiful.
Loved the whole bar and restaurant area, although only used the restaurant for breakfast.
Price comparable for London but would definitely stay there again - excellent location for Covent Garden and all surrounding areas. Two stops from St Pancras Station.

One Night Stay at The Kingsley

The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The room was clean and tidy.
We did not use the facilities e.g. food and beverages due to the shortness of our stay.
There was the constant sound of running water from the closet area of the room? Maybe a drain pipe or noise from the rooms of others? This made it very difficult to sleep. However, when asked about the stay by a member of staff while checking out I did not mention this as I had a coach to catch and did not have time.

Relaxing in London

Staff very attentive from arrival at reception to being served at meals and left luggage etc. The rooms were clean if a little small for the price but the overall decoration of the whole hotel is relaxing, airy and smart. Staff all over the Hotel from cleaners, waitresses and barman were very courteous. I would stay here again.

A great find

I was in town for meetings all over the place - Canary Wharf, St Pancras, Waterloo and the City. The Kingsley couldn't have been more central so if you're looking for somewhere to stay within easy reach of everything London has to offer, it is ideal. All the staff were friendly, helpful, interested and welcoming, the food was excellent and everything in the bar was very reasonable priced for a London hotel. I foolishly managed to jam the room safe but the maintenance guy turned up immediately, was extremely polite and fixed it quickly without blame! The only negative for me was that despite an excellent refurbishment they obviously skimped on double glazing in the bedroom as the traffic noise was a little intrusive, although not loud enough to ruin my sleep or stay - yet the bathroom was double glazed. Strange. For some reason all the free newspapers, apart from the FT, were Irish. Weird.

I will guarantee you that we will NEVER stay anywhere else in London again. Why would we need to, when The Kingsley has THIS to offer! The Bed was the comfiest my partner and I had EVER slept on (I wanted to take it home with us), and the staff were all so courteous! Not to mention the location. 3 minute walk from Holborn station. Perfect for going to the west end, or ANYWHERE in london for that matter.
I can see us using The Kingsley again and again and again and again and... you get the point.

Stayed in hotel for short break to make theatre and restaurant visits. Hotel decor very fresh, possibly having been updated recently. Room and en-suite bathroom very tidy, clean and comfortable. Staff attentive and friendly. Buffet breakfast fine, but nothing special. Did not eat other meals in the hotel. Very handy location for west-end theatre visits. Overall very pleased with stay and felt that the hotel offered good value for money.

Excellent customer service

Staff were very accommodating, nothing was too much trouble for them, very friendly. Room was on the mezzanine level awkward to locate, room quite small and felt claustrophobic & dark room 27. Room was clean and served the purpose for the time we spent in it, have spent around the same amount of money at other hotels in the past and felt we got better standard of room, view was looking out at a brick wall. Overall enjoyed our stay but would prefer a much brighter bigger room if we stayed here again in the future.
Breakfast was very good and plenty of choice, staff couldn't do enough for you nothing was too much trouble. Location ok handy if you are travelling from Euston station.

Exceeded (High) Expectations

Trip advisor awarded this hotel its top award for 2011, which immediately highlighted it as somewhere worth staying. On arrival we were greeted by extremely helpful and friendly staff. The room was huge with beautiful fixtures and features. Staff even left a box of chocolates and card for one of us after we mentioned we were celebrating a birthday. Location wise, its positioned at one end of Oxford street, within under 5 minutes walk of two tube stations (not to mention all of Oxford Street) with Covent Garden a 10 minutes walk away too. Overall, we were very impressed. An exceptionally good hotel.

Lived up to Expectations

I visit London every couple of months on business and stay over when I do. I've been looking for a decent quality hotel in the centre for some time. I did a bit of research and found some great reviews for this hotel. I booked and after a very busy day of meetings starting at 5am, I was really hoping for a nice rest before heading out into the smoke for a big night out. The hotel is in a great location and as soon as I walked in it felt very welcoming and stylish. I liked the bar as soon as I saw it. Checked in no problem and then went to my Executive room which was a decent size, very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was nice and light and very clean. I had a quick drink in the friendly and tasteful bar. After a heavy night out ending at scary am, I returned to my room and slept very well. A civilised check out time of 12pm helped ease me back into the land of the living. I checked out easily and will definitely be booking again for my forthcoming trips. A pleasure to find a well run hotel in London.
