Nice hotel but not 5*

Everything was reasonable for a hotel costing a couple of hundred pounds but the room itself was very small with barely enough space to walk around the foot of the bed. All clean, tidy and tasteful but the overall experience was more 4* than 5*.

Lovely hotel but spoilt by malfunctioning air-conditioning.

The Kensington Hotel has a great location, and the well thought out refurbishment of the communal areas provides a relaxing and welcoming ambience. However although our room was well appointed the air conditioning was not working, which left the room extremely stuffy and oppressive, so much so that at 4.30 am after getting no sleep we had to contact reception and ask to be moved to an alternative room where there was functioning air conditioning. This they did after some reluctance, initially stating that it took a while for it to work, but later admitting that the air conditioning was somewhat erratic. Despite our less than perfect stay, I would recommend the hotel as long as you could get a room where the air conditioning worked as it should.

Excellent Hotel with impeccable Customer Service

Having booked this hotel for our Wedding Anniversary, the hotel staff made a great effort in making this a memorable occasion for us. The hotel is accommodated within a beautiful period property with well appointed interior spaces for guest to use. I would highly recommend this hotel to my friends and will definately return in the future.
The only downside if any is the lack of on-site parking, but to be expected with such a central location.
All in all an amazing hotel which is extremely well located within Central London, with excellent customer service.

We have stayed at this hotel twice now,and found the staff very courteous and friendly and they have the
personal touch as if you were somebody exra special.the hotel is situated close to South Ken tube station
and is therefore placed in a very good location for exhibitions;R,A.hall and the local Brompton Road
atmosphere and national retailers.A quick and reasonable taxis journey and your in West End etc.Would
highly recommend

Recently refurbished luxury which ensured a relaxing and comfortable nights sleep in elegant surroundings. Very large and comfortable bed. Only negative was some minor noise from corridor.

Great location - shame about the food

We were visiting London for a weekend to do some of the sights we have never visited before therefore wanted a convenient location for the museums etc. The hotel was very well situated for our sightseeing needs;close to Exhibition road, a tube station and Knightsbridge.
We were very pleased with our room, it was spaciious, modern and clean. The bed was rock hard though and we were right above the bar (which seves excellent but expensive cocktails)
We decided to have dinner at the hotel on Friday night and were very disappointed. The menu was uninspired and the dining room lacked people (a good clue to the quality of the food given it was a Friday night in August!) and atmosphere. The food was bland and frankly boring. We skipped pud and breakfast on the next 2 days and viisted the excellent Italian deli opposite instead for great coffee, cakes and breakfast pastries at resonable prices.

Lovely hotel with warm and friendly staff and nothing too much trouble. As they say it's the little things that make all the difference, from the free apples in reception, to the free bottles of water for the journey home, life was made very easy indeed. Turn down service just a joy to come into when you've been sightseeing all day and are ready to collapse in a heap. Chuffed with the room, extremely comfortable bed, good air conditioning and it was "hot in the city" when I was there so that was a very welcome addtion.

The room/bed were very comfortable and spacious. The hotel staff were very friendly and courteous. The concierge service was excellent. He found us very good seats at The Garrick Theatre at very short notice and ordered our taxi. I will definitely stay there again when visiting London.

Great on the ground floor !

Very well staffed and beautiful ground floor lounge, bar and restaurant. My bedroom was small as was the bathroom , no bath. Clean and well presented but small. Good location for Kensington and near to the Piccadilly underground line for quick access to the West End.

Another happy stay

Second time staying here. Fab hotel. Beautiful lobby and bar/lounge. Very clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nice touches like scented hot towel on arrival. Booked a delux/superior room as last time I felt the standard room was very very small.....quite disappointed to experience same size room and no obvious upgraded standard. Good selection of drinks in bar. Good tv in room, nice toilettries. Great location. Looking forward to our next stay!

Luxury home from home

This hotel did what it said on the tin!! Great location near Exhibition Road Museums, within walking distance of the Albert Hall and Harrods and 5 min walk to the numerous restuarants and tube stations at South Kensington and Gloucester Road. Every member of staff was extremely helpful and considerate. Their attention to detail highlights the high standards set by this chain of hotels.
The room rates are high but compared to other hotels of a similar standard the rates are very reasonable and well worth the money for peace of mind.

Our london week

Having spent the previous month in Italy, we were pleased with the size of the room (Room 520), particularly the bathroom. Woken in the middle of the night by rain dripping through a previously mended crack in the ceiling. Prompt, polite attention and a new room of the same value. The new room was slightly smaller. Great to have tea/coffee making facilities- would have liked a fridge that we could have used to pop fresh milk in. The one there was full of drinks (and it would have been better with some wine in it!) The gym was excellent! It was good as a base for an 'in town' experience as we were close to all the things we wanted to see.
