The room was a little small and you have to pay for wifi... Other than that it is a great place.

Glad I wasn't paying full price

Room was clean, comfortable but very small. Staff were disinterested and I twice had to wait at reception until anyone showed up. Concierge only grudgingly ordered me a taxi when requested.
I don't that I was given value for money, and that's pretty poor considering I paid a significantly discounted rate through laterooms. I won't be staying there again.

Excellent hotel with very helpful staff very handy for Fortnum and Mason (just opposite) and The Ritz.
Room was comfortable and clean although a little small but it's what you expect in London or any other large city.
Breakfast was excellent and we did'nt have to check out until 12o/c so we could have a leisurely breakfast and read the papers
Would definitely recommend this hotel

Quality consistent with the star rating and what one should expect of the location.

I'm a frequent traveller, so not one of those bumpkins who think every hotel is great. However this is a super hotel, high quality, no shortage of investment in all the parts of the hotel that matter. Staff were great, professional without being snooty, friendly and fun without being over familiar. Absolutely no complaints (although the car park is a bit expensive).

Hotel in a great location. Very friendly staff and the hotel is imaculately clean. We had pre-Dinner Menu for £15 each for 2 courses would highly recommend it the food is lovely. English Breakfast is a must well worth the extra money. We stopped in a classic Room it was great just for 2 nights when we return we will try one of the suppertor rooms. Our room was ready within 1 Hour of arriving at midday and we could go in it. This is a excellent place to stop and worth paying a bit more for the area.

Excellent Cavendish

My wife and I felt completely at ease from the moment we approached reception until our departure. The staff were efficient and friendly, the room very comfortable in all respects, our breakfast was very good and the service excellent. The hotel being in Central London was ideally situated for Shopping and certain theatres and yet in a quite street just off the bustle of Piccadilly.
Keep up the good work.

The Wife's 30th surprise

I booked this hotel along with tickets to see the show 'Wicked', Our hotel was very plush.
The staff made us feel welcome and although we were probably a bit out of place with all the nice cars turning up the staff treated us as if we were royalty.
The room was well equipt and clean, the breakfast in the morning was one of the best i'd had.

Ideal Location

My wife and I had a short stay whilst we visited the usual tourist spots and found the location of the hotel to be ideal, including being no more than 10 mins walk to many well known theatres. I noted many reviewers commented on the size of the room and in all honesty they are not the biggest I have ever stayed in but this is Central London at the end of the day and the rooms were more than adequate and very comfortable. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was very good. The staff were excellent I would stay again.

Staff Uninspired

The hotel was excellent on all counts, except for one thing - the staff were robotic, uninspired and dull. Not rude, just not welcoming, communicative or interested in me. The exception to this was the lady who brought my breakfast to my room - she was charming, cheerful and engaging.

History will out

We have used many London hotels and the Cavendish was by far the best on several levels. Excellent location, attentive and helpful staff, clean, well- equipped rooms, good food and service and, above all quiet. I was unaware of it's impressive history before I arrived but felt that it fully lived up to its reputation as 'a home, not a hotel. And what a joy not having to struggle home on the tube following a visit to the theatre.

Great City Break Location

Hotel is just off Piccadilly. Great for walking to Covent Garden/Trafalgar Sq/Leicester Sq/Regent St. My husband & I stayed for 1 night. Service which we received was excellent. Reception staff were very helpful and we upgraded our room to the 14th floor only for £20 extra I thought was very good. View from room was great - Big Ben/London Eye etc . We had a problem with the television in our room & it was fixed very quickly. Breakfast was buffet style - cooked & continental - very good selection. The only negative point was that we had to wait 10/15mins for a table at breakfast. Overall though, a very good hotel and would highly recommend.

Great West End Hotel

We were looking for a nice hotel around the Mayfair/Piccadilly area due to the fact we were going out in the West End, ending up on Dover Street partying, and needed somewhere within easy staggering distance home. Hotel was a couple of hundred metres between Piccadilly Circus and Green Park tube stations. The checkin was nice, although we were not explained to about the breakfast arrangements. We had asked for a late checkout, and was pleasantly informed we were able to checkout at 1pm without extra charge. The room was on the 10th Floor, with a view just over the top of rooftops towards BT Tower. Noise was minimal considering we were in the heart of London. The room was well appointed, although maybe a little small, but very clean and tidy. The room had a connecting door to the next room, and i had reservations initially about noise from the ajoining room, but nothing really to mention. I rang down to reception to enquire about breakfast and was informed we had breakfast included ion our rates (thru laterooms special offer) including breakfast in our room. The concierge was very helpful, offering useful advice of the area. We were able to leave luggage with the concierge when we had checked out which was very appreciated, and allowed us to sight see without hinderance of suitcases etc. All in all, a good experience. would definately recommend.

Excellence in accommodation

This is my second stay here and upgraded to superior room. Spotlessly clean, pleasantly spacious. Would always recommend this hotel for superb staff, great location and lovely rooms.
One or two minor niggles however this time. During our stay someone changed the curtains for a pair that did not fit, on discovering this at about midnight the hotel sent up a manager to fix it, which he did albeit on a temporary basis - all credit to Tom for his efforts and pleasant demeanour after being called for such a strange request.
Having been asked if I wanted a complimentary Telegraph each day (and answering yes) it did not come the first day and I asked for it and it duly came, the second 2 days of our stay I simply did not bother asking as it did not come then either.
They make a lot of their 'organic / ecological' status but the breakfast food to be honest was ordinary. The bacon is so thin it is dry, the smoked salmon was very 'fishy' and quite unpleasant. The scrambled eggs, despite being freshly delivered to the serving dish were stone cold every day. The service levels however were good and the juice and coffee delicious.
These things are minor however and I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Excellent location, good restaurant

We received an upgrade as they had overbooked so room was very good, fab comfy bed. Had dinner at the restaurant as couldn't get into Le Caprice and were not disappointed (though a few candles would have improved the ambience). Breakfast also very high standard though you may have to queue depending on your arrival time.
Used the valet parking which was really convenient too.

My wife's 50th birthday weekend

This hotel was outstanding! Location perfect. All service employees were a credit to the high standards of the establishment. I booked an executive double deliberately to afford maximum space. I was not disappointed. We had breakfast delivered. It arrived hot and plentiful. The enormous bathroom was a treat with separate bath and vast walk-in shower. Finally, although I alluded to my wife's 50th birthday being the reason for our stay, we were overwhelmed to discover a sumptuous chocolate cake winking at us from the bedroom table! What a noble gesture. Thank you The Cavendish: "King" of hotels!

The hotel is in an excellent central position just off Piccadilly close to many attractions.

The basic double room is comfortable but a bit on the small side with limited wardrobe space.

Excellent hotel which for me is amazing as i am a harsh critic on the standards that i have had to endure at other hotels.
From the minute we arrived until we checked out staff were very polite, friendly and efficient.
Hotel is ideally suited for those going shopping or to the theatre. Valet parking is very reasonable for Central London.

Perfect location, can walk to West End theatres, galleries, Bond Street shopping etc. Room was very nice and clean, slightly small but that's to be expected in London. Very quiet. Comfy beds. We had a good view over London's rooftops. Service was very good - we had a problem with the safe and someone came up straight away to fix it. Would definitely stay again and recommend it to anyone wanting to treat themselves to a nice hotel.

Breakfast time delay

Had a lovely stay, went to a show which was in walking distance. However when we went for breakfast we had to wait over 20mins for a table and breakfast was nothing special and not worth the money. I could understand if it was not self service and not every thing on the menu was on display and it would have taken too long to ask the busy staff.

Lovely hotel

We had a lovely time in London and enjoyed staying at The Cavendish - able to walk back after night out, helpful staff, wonderful breakfast, very clean and well equipped room. My only little niggle was a wobbly a/c fan which was rather annoying at night, but when that's all to complain about... Wasn't cheap, but we were opposite Fortnum and Mason's!

Fab time at the Cavendish

I took my wife to London for our 10th wedding anniversary and stayed at the Cavendish. Excellent service on arrival and subtely established the reason for our visit. Later that afternoon, a cake was delivered with a card from the guy who had checked us in. What a fabulous touch. The bar also do the most amazing Bloody Mary's!!!. Room was slightly on the small side (which I have come to expect in London anyway), but had great view of the city and London Eye. Really enjoyable stay.
