Hotel service is good, polite and willing to help. Room was clean, hallways slightly tired, but it's not the Savoy. Good llocation for Waterloo, london bridge nd city. Single Room wasn't en-suit (but I didn't read description properly.). Breakfast was good service & good food. (only confusion was the eggs, bacon ect are all served on seperate tiny plates.. Felt like tapas) but good quality food and efficently served - All in all ok to get my head down, but I would use hotel for a romantic getaway.

London Marathon 2012

I booked The Bridge Hotel for the 2012 London Marathon through laterooms.com . It was a really good deal at £49 for the night including breakfast. At that price you usually worry about what you actually are going to get in central London however when I arrived it was fine. The hotel is directly opposite the university and a 10 minute walk from Westminster bridge. The staff were really friendly and helpful and provided fruit, water etc. The room itself was small but clean with ensuite shower and toilet. Unfortunately breakfast on a Sunday starts at 8am so I missed it due to the race . Anyone looking for accomodation for future marathons should consider this location. It is within easy walking distance of Charing Cross station . On race day all trains to the start begin there . I would strongly recommend you catch the train at Charing Cross and not one of the alternative stations enroute. The train quickly becomes full and its a lot less stressful to just que and board an empty train than try and squash into an already crowded carriage further down the line. I have tried both methods now and believe me its a ' no brainer ' as they say.

Budget hotel

For a budget hotel this hotel is OK. It was clean enough and very convenient for working in the City of London. It was a basic single room with no en suite , only a shared toilet and bathroom, that was good enough for me for the price.

Good Hotel for Budget Travellers

This hotel represents good value for money for budget travellers. Whilst the room was relatively small and basic, it was clean and had everything that I needed for my stay. It was equipped with a fridge (in which complimentary fruit and water were provided), which was a real bonus for me. Wi-fi internet access also included in the cost of the room, which I would not normally expect from a budget hotel. The Customer Service was excellent. On the couple of occasions I required to seek assistance from the staff, they were always polite and dealt with the matter promptly and effectively. The continental breakfast included in the price was basic, yet adequate. The only downside I could identify was the fairly complex layout of the hotel, with its maze of corridors and staircases requiring to be negotiated before reaching the room. Whilst this was not a problem for me, this may be an issue for other travellers.

Girls weekend to see a show and do the London Eye.

Read the reviews and thought we may have made a mistake booking this hotel. But we were surprised how helpful the staff were. The beds were spotless and comfortable. Would definitely stay again for the money this is really a little gem. They allowed us to check in early and leave our bags there after check out - brilliant. Only downfall was breakfast plenty toast and cereal but then only eggs!

Definitely recommend for unpretentious individuals or couples, triples, etc. Nice people work at the place, being from different cultural background and nationality and make your stay nicer, too. I stayed in a single room with shared facilities and it was comfortable enough to make me stay there for 5 nights. Warm and clean room, internet, hot shower was all I need and the extra of an orange, apple, water and tv in the room. It's all there.

Not bad for the price really

If you're on a budget and want to stay in London this isnt a bad hotel. If like me you just needed somewhere to sleep then its fine. I didnt have ensuite which was a slight inconvenience but then I wasnt paying typical London hotel prices. That said the room was clean, as was the linen and the shared toilet/shower room was also very clean. My room wasnt facing out onto the street but as others have said its quite noisy, not so much at night but in the morning as the restaurant is in the basement and you can hear stuff going on.
Breakfast was ok, a bit limited but again you need to bear in mind the price. Bus and tube links are good although when I went out of an evening I struggled to fiind any black cabs.
Overall a good little hotel.

London trip

The Bridge was a basic accommodation, nothing fancy, but fine if you are just using it to sleep like we were. The rooms are small, and the charges don,t warrant the facilities. On the positive side, the staff are friendly, and the hotel is in a good location for sight seeing. We all had a good weekend, and nothing major to complain about. Spent most of our time away from the hotel.

I stayed on the top floor so there was little noise apart from the occasional siren outside. They let me into the room early as I had a wedding to get to which was really helpful. It was clean and there was a kettle!
5-10mins away from the Borough tube station and 15 mins from Borough Markets/ london bridge tube.

Good for what you get

Yes it is out of the way of central london but for what we paid the bridge hotel provided us with the perfect base for our weekend in London. From here we went to the Borough Markets for a hearty breakfast/lunch and made our way into central London.
It's not much but its a good, cheap, clean base and breakfast was good (although no matter how you ask for your eggs to be cooked they all turn out like a weird omlette).

Bridge Hotel Never again

The Bridge hotel looks nice in the pictures on the websites but in reality it is a very dirty and grotty experience.
I booked the only room with en suite (this should have been a give away)
My wife and myself were booked in there for two nights, on the first night we went to go to sleep only to find hairs on the bed and a large brown stain on the bed cover, the hotel staff came and removed the bed sheet.
The free bottle of water in the fridge was past its date and tasted bad, and the "fresh fruit" was limp and also bad.
The overall cleanliness of the room was very poor, the sink would not empty when you filled it and the shower barley worked (Although i only ran it as i was to scared to take a shower).
Friday night was spent awake due to the noise from the constant lorries outside and the shouting, and also my constant itching at being in such a dirty room.
Needless to say we checked out first thing on Saturday morning and went to stay elsewhere.
In short this place is more like a backpackers place than a family / couples hotel wanting a nice relaxing time in London. Overall cleanliness is appealing.

Just about ok

It's highly unlikely that I will ever stay at this hotel again. It's on a really noisy road and because there was no aircon and it was really hot I had to have the windows open. There were people in the neighborhood having massive domestic arguments - screaming at each other on the street. In the end I closed the windows and had an extremely hot night. Breakfast was pretty poor - cereals, white toast and omlette - which I didn't have. I guess it's ok for the price but not a place I would recommend.

Great value central accommodation

I assumed from the exterior photograph that this was above a pub, but thankfully it wasn't. Booked an en suite twin with a colleague for work purposes. Were upgraded without prompting on arrival by the very friendly girl on reception, who kindly arranged cereal and milk to be supplied in the room, as we had to leave before 7am. Room was very clean with a tv kettle and fridge (stocked with some fruit and bottled water). The beds were made up every morning. Although fairly basic this is great value for a reasonably central location and I would recommend for the budget conscious business traveller.

Mediocre

The receptionist was welcoming and pleasant but the room wasn't great. Triangular in shape, I couldn't get to the wardrobe without having to lean over the bed and the door could only partially open. The toilet seat wouldn't stay up and the basin drained very ver slowly - faults that could not fail to be noticed by the hotel. Breakfast wasn't great either. I was asked if I wanted eggs (no bacon, tomato or mushrooms etc.). I said yes to fried eggs and got a plate of cooked broken eggs which were neither an omolette nor fried eggs! The bed wasn't too bad and it seemed clean. The register was left open at reception and any new arrival could read all the names, addresses, phone numbers and other contact details of previous guests.
