London's best kept secret.

Just wanted to right a quick review to say what a gem this hotel is. From the moment Jim opens the front door to the moment he puts your bags in your car everybody at the hotel is friendly and professional. A park view room, free minibar, great shower and REM products made for a great stay.
Thanks very much to all the staff who helped out during the stay, especially the night manager and porter.

Great location. Nice hotel, upper end tourist market Id suggest rather than a business place, which gives it a nice atmosphere. Service by every single employee I encountered was excellent. Better than anywhere I think ive stayed in that respect. If I can get a deal similar to what I paid then yes definately come back and have no hesitation to recommend.

We booked this hotel last minute for a Saturday night. My choice was strongly influenced by previous favourable reviews. What a gem! Very helpful check in staff and friendly doormen ( who the following day even remembered where we had been to the previous evening ! ). The room was spotlessly clean ( under the bed too ) and the bathroom nicely appointed. All room snacks and soft drinks were complimentary and we had a lovely tray of tea ( leaf, not teabags ) on arrival.
The bar was calm and atmospheric and service efficient when we arrived back at the hotel after midnight. There is on-street parking in a side road ( free after 1.30 pm Saturdays and Sundays ). Cannot recommend this hotel strongly enough: excellent value for money for a dead-central location.

Great service, great room. Only slight complaint was that it was impossible to have the bedside lights on without the rest of the room lights, which was a bit annoying, and that there were no sockets by the bed to plug phones into. Otherwise, lovely place, great value for centre of London, and the breakfast was excellent!!

Stayed at this hotel for a night while in London having dinner. Nice hotel overall, great location. Rooms are a little smaller than you would expect for a 5 star, but very good overall. I would return to this hotel in the future.

Beautiful hotel, exceptional service, simply outstanding.

We stayed in town for a wedding and this location was perfect. It was a fantastic deal on laterooms anyway, made better by the upgrade to an apartment when we checked in!
We had a lounge, kitchen & bedroom. It was fantastic. The only pity was that we didn't have longer in the room to enjoy it! Friendly, helpful staff topped it all off. Highly recommended.

I can not sing the praises of this Hotel high enough, their attention to detail was amazing. It started as we approached the enterance, the doorman asked our name and already had us on a list, which when you have booked online through a website is such a reassuring thing.
The staff were outstanding and as we had mentioned it was our wedding anniversary we were given a lovely upgrade and a beautiful card, and at literally no extra cost.
The hotel itself was outstandingly situated for London and the concierge service was brilliant..
If you want a treat do not hesitate to book this hotel.

Hotel was very nice. Spent a pleasant couple of hours in the bar and the service was excellent. Room and bed were very comfortable. The free Mini bar and coffee machine were a nice touch. There were a few marks on the walls of the bedroom, we were unable to switch the bedside lights on and the wardrobe door was very stiff.

Hotel is well appointed with friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Only issue was the room we had has no view other than drainage pipes and was just above the ventilation matrix and this could be heard in the room the entire night. Loud enough to disturb a light sleeper.

From the moment we arrived at The Athenaeum to the minute we left we were treated really well by all the staff from the porters, concierge through to the reception staff and room service people. Everyone was so friendly and helpful which we haven't always experienced at other hotels in London.

The only issue was the Tv signal was weak and kept fading out - but I did have an upgrade to a lovely room overlooking Green Park

Good location and great service - many little extras such as free soft drinks and nibbles from mini bar and coffee machine in room. Biggest moan - the sheets were stained, which we only discovered at 12.30pm. A very chatty guy came and changed them for us immediately - rather a surreal experience!!

Lovely hotel and very friendly, we have a good stay and would return again. Only draw back was the full breakfast was £27 !!!

Where can i start? Its in the middle of London, Hyde park and Oxford street just around the corner, The service was very good, The room was perfect, big tv, minibar with lots of free stuff, air con, great shower, big comfy bed and they even replace your towels and clean the room in the evening. only minor issue was the view - rubbish - and the spa was closed, but, on the whole, outstanding hotel and would love to stay again. thanks laterooms!

I was visiting London for a long weekend with my parents and was looking for a good standard hotel as a treat. We could not have been more delighted with our stay at this hotel. The staff at check in were friendly and helpful, as were all the staff throughout our stay. The room was small, although very comfortable and the bed was the best quality I have found in a hotel. My parents were disappointed that the firm, support pillows were not available from housekeeping, however still had a great sleep. The complimentary soft drinks and snacks is a nice touch. The bar area was very pleasant to relax and have a drink in the evening. The only slight disappointment was the food we had in the restaurant on sunday evening. I think the veg and roast potatoes had been leftover from sunday lunch. Surely a 5 star hotel could cook fresh food at all times? That said, our stay in the hotel was a wonderful treat and would look forward to staying here again. I would thoroughly recommend it.

Amazing service - given a free upgrade to luxury suite when they found out it was our anniversary (plus fresh fruit and a card!). Given free drinks whilst waiting for room, even though we arrived 2 hours before check in. We could not fault this hotel on any aspect. Food from the bar was great and the free ice cream in the room was fantastic!! Bed was large and comfortable, and you had a choice of pillows. Robes and slippers provided with the turndown service. A brilliant hotel, would definitely go back and stay again.

The staff were absolutley lovely and couldn't do enough for us. The room, although the least palatial type of the hotel was big, comfy and a nice place to be. Overall we could not fault the hotel who amde our 2nd wedding anniversary one to remember.

Centrally located with clean, well-laid out rooms, this hotel is a pleasure to stay at. The staff are warm and friendly from the reception staff to the concierge to the doorman. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they always have a smile for you. I had terrible trouble with my i-phone and needed to restore the program from i-tunes. The receptionist hunted high and low to find me a charger with a ubs connection thus saving me the hassle of trying to find the relevant lead somewhere in London. Making all mini-fridge contents (other than alcohol) free is a generous gesture that was much appreciated by a thirsty guest.
