We found the Apollo to be good value and the location good , on a quiet road and yet very close to the kings cross tube station, about a two minute walk. The breakfast set us up for the day .

One of the better B & B we have stayed in in this part of London, as with many others, the rooms are on the small side but not unexpected. Friendly reception and the shared bathrooms were large and clean. Short walk to kings cross station, breakfast was very nice and great value for money.

Well the photographer certainly did a good job on the website, both the outside and the inside of the hotel was dark and drab and not at all like the photos! On arrival, shortly after 2pm, we were hit by strong cooking smells which seemed to overtake the whole house. The room was tiny, only really just seeming to fit the bed. The bathroom was very dated, although considering it was a shared bathroom was surprisingly clean, although we did not dare try the shower. The bed however was very comfy, although we were very glad that the we were only there for a few hours and would certainly not like to spend anymore time there. We found the value for money very very poor and although it served its purpose, we would not stay there again,

Would have been an excellent value break with a recently refurbished room, good breakfast and peaceful location. However spoilt by double bed only being 4 feet wide, also a very small wash hand basin with shelf fixed just above it meant you could not clean your teeth without spitting all over the floor. A shame that such basic requirements were not right. Had obviously tried to squeeze in a so called double ensuite where only a single should have gone. Possibly OK for one night stay but no longer.

Petit hotel de 10 chambres je crois situé à 2 min de la gare de Kings Cross St Pancras donc a 10 min du centre de Londres en métro ou en bus. La chambre est petite mais propre et agréable, la salle de bain est petite aussi mais très propre. English Breakfast très bon. De plus ils ont gardé nos bagages pour la dernière journée.

Room was clean and tidy apart from fittings such as the towel rail hanging off the wall! Reasonable value for money. Staff friendly. I stayed on the second floor so had numerous awakenings caused by the communal bathroom door between the first and second floor.

I should have known something was wrong when the reception desk was in their living room. The stairs hand rail was loose the further up you went, In the bedroom the carpet was ripped and the bed rocked and was hardly held together. The PVC window was so badly warped that once opened would not shut. Our room didn't have private facilities so we had to share a bathroom usually with towels all over the floor where someone had had a shower. If someone was having a shower, we had to use the downstairs toilet which had no wash basin, you had to go back to your room if you wanted to wash your hands. Definitely one to be avoided.

Room was very small and got very very hot at night, stayed in room no. 12, at the very top of the hotel, had a small ensuite with a toilet and shower head. Area was relatively quiet, located very close to kings cross st. Pancras tube station so that was handy. Shower made a very loud noise when running, the noise of the neighbours shower woke us both mornings. Room was not available until 1.30pm when we arrived, which was quite late and inconvenient. The hotel is run by a foreign family who were relatively pleasent to deal with. Hotel is good if you are staying for a very short time in london and want easy access to a central tube station. If you are staying for longer than two days i would not reccommend it, it was not that cheap in comparison to larger hotels

stayed for evenign event in en suite room. Bathroom and shower immaculate, breakfast excellent bacon egg sausage tomato beans and mushrooms all cooked to perfection with freshly made toast and organge juice, big pipiing hot cup of tea. Execellent sleep too no noise heard on top floor but walls thin so could hear people whilst there. Hotel excellent location and happy to care for your bags easy to collect too five minutes from kings cross. Will stay again and excllent value for money. Just one small issue no full lenght mirror which would have been more useful than the paintings. TV on a breakfast was a good idea as I did not feel so uncomfortable alone at breakfast.

We stayed here on the night of a gig in Islington. Was a relatively short walk above ground to the venue, so ideal for us. It was quiet, but I'm not sure if that's because it wasn't busy. I would imagine the breakfast room would be rather cramped if all rooms were full. It's a bit rough around the edges, but as I said perfectly adequate for a short stay and good value for money. All staff were very friendly.

This place is simply a room in London with breakfast. Do not get excited....... for the price bracket it is, what it is. Worth paying extra for en suite in room although it is pretty much the size of your standard telephone box. I have not stayed in too many bed & breakfasts in London but i will say the breakfast was very good. The location of the hotel is ideal for getting around the obvious touristy areas. One other thing worth noting, is that if you pay by card you have to pay a 3-5% surcharge (not mentioned during booking), however there is a HSBC next door so you can easily pay with cash!

This was probably the worst hotel we have ever stayed in - and considering the seventy pounds per night tariff a real rip-off - we stayed recently at the Danubius Hotel near Regents park for Eighty pounds per night and that was true 5 star luxury! The room at the Apollo was so tiny, just enough room for the bed and a tiny little table - no cupboard or shelf space, and the bathroom an absolute joke - shower fixture in the middle of the ceiling of the tiny space so the floor became running with water!

Stayed in en-suite room. Prices very good for London. Staff very friendly and helpful. The room is small so if you like space this isn't for you. Double beds would be a squeeze for two people. If you just need a bed for the night near Kings Cross, then perfectly adequate. Only real downside was an awful smell in the room - reminded me of my grandads car from about 30 years ago - pipe smoke and engine oil. I suspect the room I was in has had plenty of smokers in the past and has never really shaken off the stench.

ALthough it states that this is a family run hotel we were not expecting to be greeted in to the family lounge before checking in, this was a slightly odd welcome, however the two girls we met were very pleasant and allowed us to leave our bags in the 'reception' area while we went around london for the day before going home. THe hotel is very pleasant and welcoming but we also did not expect the bathroom to be the family bathroom either...or this is what it seemed!

Very good location 3 minutes walk from Kings Cross. The street it is on is extremely quiet so no problem in getting a good nights rest. The hotel itself is basic but this is reflected in the price and quite frankly for a night or two's stay it was fine. The Staff were extremely helpful and the breakfast great. One handy thing they offer is for you to be able to leave your luggage there once you have booked out. This was really handy as our train wasn't leaving until 7pm.The only downside is the one bathroom and toilet but again you can live with this if you want a bargain break.

The room was small, basic but clean. The toilet/bathroom was a bit of a distance from the room. The hotel was in need of updating & decorating. However the breakfast room was clean & bright. The breakfast was good & substantial. The staff were friendly & helpful. The hotel was cheap for London & suited my purpose, ie a bed for the night, I was out all day. I was pleased with my stay & would be happy to stay again.

Location of hotel was very good, being a couple of minutes walk from the tube station and a short walk to Upper Street in Islington, which has a great selection of bars and restaurants. The hotel room was clean and suitably equipped for a short stay. However, it has a dated look and could do with updating. The security at the hotel was worrying. The lock on the room door could be opened from the outside with a 5p coin. It would not be a good idea to leave any valuables in the room. There was a lot of noise in the corridors from other guests. I was woken up at 4am and kept awake for at least an hour by doors banging, shouting and laughing. On waking the next morning we found that there was no water coming out of the shower. This was very distressing as we had paid for an en-suite but had to use the shower down the stairs, which was dirty and mouldy . The room was advertised as a double but the bed was very small. Overall, I did not enjoy my stay at this hotel and would not stay there again or recommend it to others.

I made the booking about 2.5 weeks befor our arrival date, so after 7 hours of travelling already we arrive to be told she didn't check the book till yesterday and their now all full up due to another booking mistake made by her dad. The owner did however arrange another room for us with the next hotel down the street for the same price but the man there wasn't as nice and that room was really small.

Hotel is very close to St.Pancreas/Kings Cross - the street is directly opposite the station so a max of 2 mins walk. Room was very small but perfect for what we needed, owner and his family were welcoming and friendly - breakfast was great. They were even kind enough to keep our bags all day after we had checked out so we could sightsee without the hassle of luggage. If your planning on spending allot of time in a hotel then this is not the place for you due to the Room size, otherwise its perfect as a base to enjoy the capital via the underground network.
