A decent hotel for the price in an excellent location and friendly easy going staff. If the breakfast was a little better, I would describe it as everything a tired perpetual traveller wants.

Summary
Clean and tidy hotel, only a small walk from Covent Garden and Shaftesbury Ave and near to Tubes. Excellent breakfast. Very comfortable bed. TV very small and hairdryer very old, but that is the only negatives. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
Summary
The Hotel was perfectly situated for my appointment at Senate House. The room was clean and comfortable. I had some work with me to do, so the fact that the television did not work was not a problem for me. I reported it and was assured it would be dealt with. Staff were courteous and cheerful, breakfast was excellent. Be ready for the fact that the breakfast room cannot seat all the guests at one go. I am happy to recommend this hotel on the basis of my brief stay; perfectly situated if the British Museum is on your itinerary.
Summary
My single room was at the rear, and was completely quiet. Bed was firm, and surprisingly comfy, despite me being 6'4". Breakfast staff a delight, appear to be a team from a Thai restaurant. I think the hotel was nearly full, but fell very safe and quiet.
Summary
Nice and clean hotel with a good breakfast good room small bed and dated slightly.
Summary
This hotel is what it says on the ticket "budget", I stayed in a one bed room in the basement, whilst acceptably clean was probably in need of refurbishment. Friendly staff, good location. so if you're staying in London on a budget then the Thanet is a good choice
Summary
Excellent accomodation for the price and would definately stay again for a business trip. Staff were extremely helpful and breakfast great. Thank you.
Summary
Great hotel very helpful staff breakfast 1st class one down side lots stairs if on top floor.
Summary
The room was in need of a good clean, cobwebs around the ceiling and general grubbiness. There were marks on the top sheet of the bed and several ill fitting or detatched components, such as soap tray in shower. Being in the basement it has bars on the window for security but the sash window would not close properly, not so much a problem in the summer but in the winter!Would not look to stay again. Breakfast was good.
Summary
Brilliant hotel if you haven't got masses of money to spend & if you're travelling alone (like me). The facade of the hotel is beautiful & the original features are still in the town house; that said my room was basic and lacking some of the character of the rest of the house (sash windows were still present); however I am not citing as a negative as it was clean and had all the facilities I required for my stay.
The Hotel staff were lovely & very helpful; arranging a taxi for the wedding I was attending (including negotiating the fee) & providing me with a map and directions for a couple of recommended shops so I could buy gift paper for my wedding present.
I understand that the breakfast is excellent & it appeared to be going down well with my fellow guests; unfortunately I was a little worse for wear in the morning and only could manage toast (due to wedding not my stay in the hotel)!
Location is good, nearest tube station around 5 minutes walk away (Russell Square) plus Tottenham Court Road (which is unfortunately closed till 25/11/11 for renovations works) & lots of shops/restaurants close by, plus the British Museum is only a stones throw away (again this highlight was missed by me due to my inability to refrain from the fizz at the nuptials!).
The Thanet is a small modest hotel in Bloomsbury (a converted Georgian house). The single room was small but clean and good value for money. The breakfast was excellent. The location is exceptionally good.
Summary
A good value hotel, clean, everything worked, apart from window which could not be closed . For a budget single room good value and more space than somei have stayed at.
Summary
We enjoyed our break in London and found the Thanet Hotel an ideal location for the theatres and restaurants, all within easy walking distance. The room was ok, though the bathroom shower was a disappointment as spray went everwhere. It also could have done with a bath mat!!! Rooms were clean though. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and good quality. Staff were very effecient and friendly. All in all a good choice........
Summary
Good location, lovely helpful staff, clean & new bathroom.
Could do with quilts rather than blankets. Towels let bathroom down.
Staff were welcoming, friendy and very helpful. Room was very clean and though fairly basic had everything needed. Plenty of restaurants nearby.

Superb customer service, a special mention goes to Albert, who the nght before an important job interview went above and beyond the duty of service to help me print a document out.
Great price for a central hotel, I booked a single room which was spotless and had everything needed, my only very minor negative was the very small size of the room.
Lovely breakfast with a wide selection. Please consider this hotel, as you won't be disapointed!!
Friendly welcome, a good standard hotel extremely clean, lovely clean sheets and towels and tablecloths. Breakfast was excellent . Tea & coffee facilities in room. Situated close to theatres in a quiet location. For a good hotel, not expensive, for this price range hotel we will definitely return.
Summary
Friendly staff and warm room on one of the coldest nights of the year
Summary
Well located in quiet pleasant area, near British Museum walking distance to Euston, Kings Cross and West End.
Welcoming, simple, clean, pleasant, including rooms. Rooms well equipped.
Not cheap, but nothing is in cental London; a good option for families or business.
I found the Thanet to be really excellent value for location and quality.
Summary
Nice little hotel in a great location.
Summary
Great location, walking distance from business meeting. Struggled to get breakfast before 8AM though. Good for an overnight business trip on a budget.
Summary
Small and basic hotel. I booked the last room in the hotel and was allocated a basement room on arrival. Big room, 1 double bed, 3 single beds....and just me. Separate toilet and shower room - which where both of an excellent standard, probably just tiled and done up. Room and furninshings were basic, but there was lots of light from the windows and skylight (albeit with no curtain or blind for that early morning sunshine). So not luxury, but a good straightforward standard if you're after a soom for the night.
Summary
Only stayed 1 night. The hotel is easy to find and in a good location, only 5 minutes from Russell Square tube and 15-20 minutes walk from Kings Cross/St Pancras. Good hotel to use if visitng Great Ormond Street Hospital. The hotel was full wich is good sign.
Efficient check in. Room was small, but is was a single and decorating a bit grubby but the bathroom was spotless and bed comfy. I got a really good nights sleep! Breakfast was good with lots of choice, frech fruit, cereals, cooked etc! I would stay again if visiting London.
The hotel was just what we were after for location, 5 minute walk to Oxford Street. The hotel itself was lovely, great first impressions from outside. The room had everything we needed including extras such as tea and coffee facilities. The best part was the delicious breakfast!!! Recommended to all my friends who are wanting go to london.

As above
Summary
The position of the hotel is ideal for getting around central London with the British museum on the doorstep and China town and the theatre district within easy walking distance. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is good with a reasonable variety for a small hotel. The rooms are a little tired and the stairs up to the third floor a bit rickety but it is an old building and it has some charm
Summary
The Thanet lived up to the reviews I found before booking.
Room was basic and served the purpose of a post theatre stop over.
Staff were helpful on check in and out.
Breakfast was good with efficient and quick service.
Good room, nice spot
Summary
If you are intending to go to The Olympics in London, book this Hotel early,as I am sure it will be oversubscribed.
Summary
Good value, very well run hotel. Rooms small but clean. Breakfast superb.
Summary
My room was clean and well presented the welcome from the duty manager was warm and friendly.
The shower was not very powerful but was adequate for my needs.
I had a family member staying overnight in The National Hospital and felt very safe walking back the short distance to Bedford Place.
I would recommend the Thanet as a excellent place to stay, the attention to detail for what is basically a B&B was very good.
We stayed at the hotel for one night in order for us to make an early start for catching Eurostar at St Pancras. It worked out very well, and could be the answer to our problem of 'where to stay when we want to have a day or two in The Big City'

Excellent location. Definitely worth the money. I would consider staying at this hotel again the next time I go to London.
Summary
I stayed here one night with work and found the hotel easily enough - just a short walk from Euston. The accommodation is basic but very clean and was all I required. The location is excellent - I just wandered around a bit on the evening and ended up walking through Soho, the west end and Trafalgar square (unfortunately so did about 5,000 Harry Potter fans!! ). The breakfast was also excellent and the service was superb.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to people who are looking for a place to sleep after a day of exploring London, or similar to myself on business and on an expenses budget!!
This hotel is relatively basic but in a good way with a small en suit bathroom. My room was small but immaculate and quiet.
In summary great value for money for a basic central London overnight pad
Small room had lovely big window looking over a garden. Tiny original fireplace added to its charm. Very basic but suitable. I would certainly stay again. Excellent location near Russell Square tube station and British museum. Five minute bus ride from Euston. Information about the area written very nicely and with some charm.
Summary
A small hotel in a good location and an attractive street. The staff are very friendly and this is a service-minded team. My room was simple but clean; bathroom quite basic. The wall was thin to the next room, but I slept well.
