Summary
A perfectly nice hotel in central London, no real downsides. The room wasn't the biggest and I failed to make it to breakfast, but the overall experience was good and I would stay here again for a weekend around Central London.
Summary
Accommodation was very basic. In the first room I had the shower didn't work. Had to put up with tools all over my room while they tried to fix it, before they finally gave up and let me move to another room. Staff weren't particularly keen to help. Rooms are small, there's no desk or table to work at and all furniture/decoration was old. Most of the place was a bit grubby (but not terrible).
Breakfast was ok. Wifi internet worked consistently and at a decent speed. It seemed safe.
I chose the hotel because of the location. I stayed 3 nights and very happy to leave by the end.
Our first room did not have functional wifi. The computer got the signal but there were other access problems that the staff did not seem to care about solving. The staff did however relocate us to a room with a well functioning wi-fi.
The cleaning staff provided clean sheet and towels. However the fans above the WC were stinking dirty in both rooms. The carpets were not clean.
I understand why u need to pay before the stay is over. Some might leave when they see how dirty the carpet and the fan is.
Appart from that, the very basics, small rooms but serve the purpose.
When I've booked this hotel i knew it will not be fantastic after reading the rewievs but it was really dreadful !! We have had 3 bed room as we took our 4y old son.The room was small (which is not bad!) the wardrobe was sat on top of a shelve, why I do not know! Wardrobe and bed side tables were very dated and dirty.Bathroom was dirty and shower didn't work properly and the sink was the tiniest sink i've ever seen ! But none of that was as bad as the horrid noise of the banging radiator which sounded like someone is hitting it with a hammer combined with a laud lawn mower noice. When the people from room ustairs used the toilet it was like somene is flushing the toilet in our room and not to mention the creaking floor !!!!
For the £125 we paid we we're disgusted and I could really cry as it felt we threw all that money in the bin!! especialy as we could have had a lovely 4* hotel down at Doclands for the same price !!
When we spoke to man about the shower and noisy radiator at the reception his answer was Im new here ! which obviously wasn't the truth and im sure the people must have complained about this room before!
I can only advise everyone not to stay here as its trully awful place !
There's no doubt that this is a budget hotel - the room was tiny and the hotel in general need of maintenance (broken woodwork on my doorframe, for example). However, it was clean and well looked after, and the food was OK. The road outside is busy (a main route to Euston Road) and if you're on that side (as I was), the windows don't keep out the traffic noise.
Summary
Photos on the website make it look lovely. In reality it felt like a run down motel, small room, no wardrobe just a pole hanging in the corner, a hole in the wall stuffed with tissue, no double glazing so the constant traffic throughout the night was clearly audible. It was reasonably clean, although the toilet flush was damaged making it fiddly to press, and the towel rail was rusty. Good shower though!
Summary
Twin room was compact but clean, staff were friendly. Breakfast was excellent.
Luggage was left safely until mid afternoon on day of departure.
Very close to Kings cross station so Ideal if you are coming down and need somewhere to stay overnight.
It looks like a mess when you walk in, they could to with improving the entrance (smelt like smoke and dirty) and the politeness of the staff.
Then get in some kind of 'death-lift', at this point i was worrying about the hotel.
However the actual room was fine. Bed was comfy enough, and clean room which was my worry. Are provided with towels and toiletries, water tea coffee and bisuits and a TV. Its not big but fine for an overnighter.
Felt safe, which was important as a solo visitor-however couoldn't lock the room?
Breakfast was nice enough, toast and lots of spreads, croisaints, ceral etc.
Perfect for a buisiness overnighter, not for a holiday, couple etc.
My room was small but it was clean (infact it seemed newly decorated) and pretty much exactly what I was looking for. I just wanted somewhere cheap to rest between exploring the city and this was actually much better quality than i expected, the staff were friendly and the breakfast was as expected. Plus it's well situated, so despite my terrible sense of direction, fairly easy to find even when walking from miles away.
