Spacious enough for my needs Bed comfortable bathroom...
Spacious enough for my needs. Bed comfortable, bathroom had the standard luxurious feel. Lighting good and flexible to suit your mood, although one of the bedside lamps was out. Lightbar was expensive but cool, staff in Lightbar were cool to the point of being miserable. Desk staff were like the guys in an Apple Store. Central location is fabulous. Good for business, not so sure for leisure.

A relaxing and well maintained hotel in a...
A relaxing and well maintained hotel in a great location ( noisy if unlike me you go to bed early though), with friendly staff. Some surprising housekeeping deficiencies - the audio system and telephone in my room had been disconnected and the main phone was never in use; the quality and quantity of the free toiletries is rather poor . I also diliked the 'grey on grey' writing everywhere which made room service choices difficult to decipher (but it was good value). The rack rates are high - at a LateRoom price this was worh it for a touch of luxury.

We booked a superior room which would normally cost in excess of £600. We felt we paid too much having spent £235, although the bathroom was gorgeous the room was tiny and a bit too minimalistic, service wasn't good either - no-one took our bags to our room or even offered to show us where our room was, no offer of newspaper, rooms not turned down in the evening - all the sort of things you expect as normal in a five star hotel (especially when the room would normally be £600). We've stayed in far better hotels in London for far less - we would not return.

I regularly stay in 5 star hotels in central London but St Martins Lane - A Morgans Original, London will definitely not be on my listRude reception staff who could not process my credit card efficiently A room which smelt of cigarette smoke even thigh it was claimed to be non smoking No real lounge apart from a poorly lit very noisy barSnack prices the equivalent of the average main course in a top restaurant Screaming drunk people outside the front of the hotel all night Moody lift so dark you can’t even see the buttonsStaff who do not know me from Adam calling me Chris Yes definitely original and but probably only for the amount of white paint they must have used when decorating the place. Trendy maybe - comfortable and welcoming NO
