St Georges Hotel out of 5 Customer Rating

We were very pleased with the quality, price and location of St Georges Inn. Not only was the room clean and of a high standard for the price we paid, the breakfast was also excellent. We were also able to leave our bags after we had checked out to save us paying the high prices at victoria station. It was only a 5 minute walk to and from Victoria Train station and about 10 minutes walk from the coach station. The service was also exceptional. Overall it was alot better than what i expected for the price that we paid and im already recommending it to friends. Would definitely stay there again.

Great location-perfect for a city break.Pubs and restaurants nearby if your feet ache after a day sight seeing.

No frills accomodation for short trips to london, not recommended for families.

£69/night for double room seemed excellent, realisation when we got there that we were staying in an attic room, which left barely enough room to move around with the bed taking up a lot of the space. however this was perfect for us, we didn't intend spending much time in the hotel, wanting to get out and about and see the city, so the price has to be the main motivation when booking this hotel. staff were helpful if lacking a little in terms of manners. breakfast is provided but can get very crowded with only a small room with limited seating capacity, probably better to get down earlier.room was clean, bathroom was modern, bed was reasonably comfortable. upkeep perhaps not excellent, hair drier in room broken, though replacement provided, window lock on door broken, not too concerning on the 4th floor though, which was 72 steps from reception, no lift!!

Disappointed

Booked 1 month early asking for low floor as wife had knee replacement. On arrival got 4th floor with no lift without option by disinterested staff. Very basic small room with minimum 1 towel, 1small soap and 1 pillow each. No bath mat no shower mat and 2cups with 1 saucer. Tea, coffee and whitener bags of unknown make and poorest quality persuaded us to give breakfast a miss. Very disappointing experience.

Pokey Room Next Door to Reception

Although I booked well in advance I had a pokey, dim room with just a skylight. They told me they couldn't move me to a better room and it was noisy being by the reception despite assurances. I booked a double and the room was set up for a family although the beds were end to end and you couldn't access the desk/mirror. I had to kick up a right fuss to get the single bed taken out - they wanted to just stand it up on end (what about health and safety if it fell on me!). Breakfast room like a canteen - very shaby

Exploring

The hotel was fine for the price and last minute booking.
It could do with installing a lift=, as my room was in the attic.

Hotel for small mountaineers

90 steps from basement (breakfast) to 4th floor with many tight twists & turns. No lift. Not suitable if unfit or with large / heavy luggage. Room miniscule; slightly more than 1ft space around most of bed (wardrobe has no doors as not enough space to open). 'Table' c.1ft deep, TV bracket had come off wall but just rested on 'table', hairdryer burnt out and unusable. Need to sit on loo at an angle due to lack of space. Breakfast supplemented by manager standing at back door of kitchen smoking with fumes blowing in to breakfast area. Delightful. Credit card supplement (£3) added without explanation of options. Limited capability to speak Engish at reception.
