The hotel is built upon the site of a 15th century chapel which was dedicated to St Ermin. Previously the hotel was a mansion and only turned into a hotel in 1899. The deluxe hotel has modern and innovative facilities mixed with the elegant historical features including an antique library.

With friendly and attentive service in a warm and inviting atmosphere with striking interiors, The Caxton Grill lives up to its name as a high class restaurant. A quick menu is provided for time-sensitive lunches, or there is the main Caxton Grill menu if you want a relaxed dining experience. Lunch is served from 12-2 and dinner from 6-10:30.

The Caxton Bar & Terrace offer views overlooking the tree-lined courtyard, making it a perfect place to meet with friends after a day of exploring the city or for a pre-dinner drink. The warm décor creates a sense of calm and a homely feel for guests and locals to enjoy.

If afternoon tea is for you, then The Caxton Bar can provide a luxury treat for you. Afternoon tea is served in St Ermin's Library between 1pm and 5pm and provides you with mouth-watering food created from fresh local ingredients. The standard afternoon tea includes delicacies such as Amaretto soaked almond cupcakes, a selection of mini sandwiches and rhubarb syllabub. If you would prefer to take the luxury option then St Ermin's Valrhona Afternoon Tea may be for you. This is created to provide rich and intense flavours of the world famous chocolate, and includes Valrhona drinking chocolate, chocolate mousse and mini éclairs. It really is a chocoholic's paradise.
