Sofitel London Gatwick Reviews

Sofitel is a very convenient overnight hotel for Gatwick North. We arrived on a late night flight with three very tired little children, and the total time from picking up the luggage to getting into the hotel room and crashing into bed was around 15 minutes. The comfortable, functional and well designed family room was exactly what we needed after a long trip.

It is over priced and bland, but hey whats the point in thrills for a transit night ...

I only stayed 1 night at the Sofitel, but I love it. The Sutherlands was excellent. All the staff were very helpful, my room was great and so was the food. Just like home from home. Will definitely go there again. This was my second visit to both Hotels.

This hottel is a must if you want a stress free start to a holliday , was a good start for our honeymoon .

The hotel and facilities were as described and lived up to its reputation of excellence. The hotel management dealt with my queries regarding a billing discrepancy in a timely and efficient manner, and I will not hesitate to stay there on my return journey.

Rude & Unhelpfull staff that are not interested, nothing is explained to you on arrival & asking a question is too much trouble for them that's if they bother to answer you, my husband was blanked by a receptionist twice.

We only had a one night stay as we live in Jersey and were travelling to Barcelona so it was a stop over for us.
The hotel was amazing - the design just gorgeous and the staff top quality - they could not do enough for us.
We ate in the cafe and the food was top notch
I am only going to stay here from now on for all stop overs - just perfect :)

I booked this hotel as I was arriving into London Gatwick late evening for an early meeting next day - the hotel is excellently placed in the North Terminal and is literally a two minute walk when you get off an EasyJet flight from Edinburgh.
A lovely hotel, really clean, well equipped and the room I had (583) was really quiet as it was internal and looked into the lovely atrium/lobby - so no noisy aircraft

This hotel is not the cheapest hotel you will ever book but it is of a high standard and couldn't be more convenient

We stayed here prior to an early flight, and found it an enjoyable experience. The room was comfortable, clean and had everything one would expect in a hotel of this standard. The bed was exceptionally comfortable with a down mattress topper on it, and fine egyptian linen. We were highly delighted with all aspects of this hotel.

Top class hotel within the airport, good accomodation and facilities and very good food with a choice of restaurants

Rooms very quiet & comfortable liked the beds slept well food quite good all staff attentive &helpful expensive for private people but very convenient to terminal made things extremely smooth&easy we would look forward to another stay

Having stayed at the Sofitel before I was very disappointed with this last stay:
1. Nice food but very embarrased in the restaurant when the waiter insisted that we could not charge to the room as we hadn't left cc details with reception. We had, so 10 minutes later once everyone in the resuaurant0 had heard our business, the bill was charged to the room.
2. Air conditioning in the room wasn't working so it was unbearably hot. A very nice engineer tried to fix it but gave up an hour later when we were moved to another room.
3. Tap in second room on the bath was broken so could ounly use the shower and not the bath.

Ideal if you have an early morning flight. Just wheel your case into the North Terminal. Not cheap but very convenient.
High standard, comfortable room.

Room was clean and comfy, however no water, tea making facilities non-existence, milk had gone off, apart from that, ok place to stay for the night before you fly the next morning...

Good hotel, with impressive public spaces such as foyer, reception, bars and restaurants. It is in a great location, being only 5 minutes walk to airport terminal. The rooms were nicely finished, great bathroom and plenty of space.
I booked the day before and had to pay quite a lot for the room, despite all the positives it was just a bit too expensive, but I guess I was paying for the location.

This hotel is excellent for location and convenience. It is good quality and very attractive in style particularly the inner atrium with its bars and restaurants. The room was very comfortable and more than met our expectations. We appreciated the express check out the next morning as we needed to be back at the South Terminal ( easily reached by the Shuttle Mono Rail next to Hotel Entrance ) quite early for our flight abroad.Both Leisure and Business Travellers would appreciate what The Sofitel has to offer.

Professional staff - superb breakfast - did not take any other meals. Best hotel bed I have ever slept in

The hotel is perfect for anyone flying in or out of either terminal at Gatwick as you don't have to leave the airport. The room was well appointed and very clean (the white tiles and grout in the bathroom were spotless!). The bed was comfortable and the airconditioning was easily adjustable. Breakfast was very pleasant as was our quick snack in the 'Le Cafe' when we checked in relatively late after a long flight the previous evening. The staff both on check in and check out were very pleasant and efficient. Overall a very pleasant (short!) stay and highly recommended.

We have stayed here a few times now and although other London Gatwick hotels often come out cheaper - this is well worth the extra £20 - £40 or so. It is clean and convenient with great staff.
Only downside is the automatic adding of 12% onto bills at the hotel bar - even when going to the bar yourself, 12% is added on and I think this is unnecessarily cheeky! Please leave it at guests discretion - staff might even get more!

My stay at the Sofitel Hotel Gatwick was my third time and did not fail in it's attention to quality and customer service. The reception staff are always helpful and greet you with a smile which is very welcome if you've just arrived struggling with the English transport system! The room is a good size considering what you pay and the cleanliness and comfort is fantastic. I would always stay here if I am catching an early morning flight for the convenience to the north terminal and the great nights sleep you get. Highly recommended.

First class hotel - stayed before - and the most convenient at Gatwick.

I have regularly stayed at the Sofitel when travelling out of Gatwick on an early morning flight and have always been impressed with the service and accomodation. The rooms are comfortable and the staff can't do enough to help.

All aspects of this stay were perfect for my expectations - a businessman expecting a comfortable stay for one brief night between visiting clients.
The only thing that let it down was the wait queueing for check-in, and again in the morning for check-out.

I stay here on buiness regularly. Its convenient, clean and the staff are friendly and professional.

All staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was very clean and spacious. The facilities were great. We ate at le cafe which was quite expensive and the food wasn't great but the wine was lovely!

This hotel has improved dramatically. My one complaint is that the Breakfast menu is not shown to guests who have no idea where things are and file around on a "follow my leader basis" Surely the staff in the Brasserie could be better trained,after all they were'nt rushed off their feet.

We find the hotel an ideal place to stay when travelling abroad as we live in the North Midlands.
the food and staff are always the perfect partners , one can have as much or little as one likes

I booked the sofitel hotel Gatwick because I wanted a hassle free start to my holiday. It was so easy to walk out the door and straight to the departure lounge in the North Terminal. The room was excellent and felt very luxurious.
Excellent place to stay.

Excellent quality hotel at bargain price through Laterooms. Good Gatwick airport but also surrounding areas.

Location could not be beaten. We enjoyed our stay, slept & eat well.

The hotel is in such a convenient location with surprisingly quiet rooms, very helpful courteous staff and extremely comfortable beds and high quality bedding.

Difficult to fnd from the train station not well signposted but well worth the extra
money to stay at the terminal

There is no other place to stay when passing through Gatwick...it is the best!

Sofitel hotel is very comfortable with excellent access to both Gatwick terminals.I stayed for one night on a room only basis so cannot comment on the food.I have used this hotel annually over several years, including a number of stays when it was Le Meridien,and it has always been a good experience.The only area for improvement would be to reintroduce the swimming pool that was present in Le Meridien days.I would expect a pool in a modern hotel of this standard.

The bed was so clean and comfortable,the best sleep I`ve had for a long time and the special offer £10 breakfast was so good.

Ideal hotel for convience, especially if flying out of North terminal. The bed was one of the best i have ever had and i have stayed in many hotels. Also the toiletries were lovely the same as those given to you in the arrivals lounge downstairs in the hotel. Used the gym as well will stay here again in preference to the Hilton.
