Sheraton Heathrow

Ok for an Overnight stay before early flight. Insufficient parking is a real issue, made worse by a large area being leased to a car rental operation! Public areas quite fresh and modern but some aspects of room old and tired. Bed badly worn as we're pillows. Bathroom ok but again a little tired. Walls VERY thin as proved by the 'guests' accompanying the man next door. Ok on a cheap deal but wouldnt pay top dollar for this hotel. Others at Heathrow are much better.

Great value at LateRooms prices!

We paid 53 GBP for a twin room without breakfast. Hotel is very close to LHR and easy access with Hotel Hoppa bus, and is within easy walking distance from car rental agencies. Internet is limited (45 min free in lobby) and front desk service polite but unremarkable, but still excellent value. Check your bill carefully! (challenge items that shouldn't be there)

Sheraton Heathrow - recommended

The hotel is large, spacious and clean. The rooms have everything you need and the bathrooms come well stocked with toiletries etc the only real complaint I have is the distance from the lift to the our room. Lots of choice at breakfast even at the end of the sitting the food was standard buffet type food although no option for toasted bread!

Hotel is under construction

This hotel is currently (Dec 2011) under construction and will be for some time. The circulation of traffic around the hotel was very confusing and reception was not clearly marked (in a temporary location). The first room I was given had no power. In the second the water smelled and tested like petrol. Others were complaining there was no heating in their wing. The food was okay but expensive for the quality. On the whole I would give this hotel a miss under the construction activities are finished. It was very disappointing as compared to the photos.

A disappointing stay at this premier hotel primarily due to the unexpected works being carried out.

On arrival we were immediately disappointed to find that we had to enter via a rear Fire Exit as the main entrance and reception area was boarded off and closed due to renovation work. At no time prior to our arrival at the hotel were we told that this work was being carried, if we had then an alternative would have been sought. As the hotel could not offer its facilities as described in the advertising details, a discount should have been offered to all guests. I do feel this ommision by the hotel in being unable to offer its facilities in full, would in my opinion put the hotel in breach of the Provision of Goods and Services Legislation.
Whilst we were staying just the one night, it was still nevertheless a part of our three day break away, a disappointing start.
Apart from my main complaint, I have to say the staff were very pleasant and helpful in the circumstances/

Heavy Construction. Disorganised, Mayhem

On entering the hotel it appeared to be closed. There was very much construction work going on . Signage ,and going wrong way down a one way system caused very much chaos to arriving guests. Traffic cones, temporary no parking signs, construction tapes left one with minimal options to park, I was left bewildered and amazed. The Entrance was at the rear, through a small exit door, which was totally inadequate. The most part of the hotel was closed, The Reception was a makeshift table in a bar area, which was the only public area, several chairs were only available for the whole of the guests. Loud bangging, construction smells, totaly unorganised. I saw several people ask for money back as i pondered on doing the same.
Thank you for a chance to air my view

Fine

My initial impression of the hotel at check-in was disappointing, I observed that the area behind the check-in counter was worn and shabby. The check-in process was quick and the staff was friendly and personable. My bedroom was as shown on the hotel website and I had nothing to complain about regarding my stay. Just a little note, there were obvious signs in the room that maintenance is a problem for example the ceiling in the bathroom was rusty.

I found the ladies at the reception were not really approachable. I understand it was late night but when I arrived after a long journey and received a too much business like welcome, I wished it had been slightly different. Apart from that, I was very happy with the room and all the facilities for the price.

There are better Heathrow hotels

Very poor state of accommodation and not what I would expect from any Sheraton hotel.
Out dated lobby that needs some work and cleaning. Hotel room was standard but the halls outside were full of takeaway boxes from other guests. There was the usual loud TV's and although I was only staying for one night (thank goodness) the staff were Ok.
We ate in the restaurant, didn't have a lot of choice and I was glad I didn't attempt the lacklustre buffet at 9pm.
Will not be staying here again.

Pity about the Robes!

My husband and I took ourselves off for a night away, to just chill out. Booked in to the hotel as it is usually very comfortable, it lived up to its past standards, the beds are gorgeous, large and so comfortable, the room a decent size, very well equipped as was the bathroom...except we paid the be on the Club floor and there were no bath robes or slippers in the room! The Dinner that evening was on the good side and acceptable, the breakfast was excellent, a superb buffet and backed up with waitress service. Overall a very good experience, we shall certainly go back again.

Let down..!!

The hotel itself on arrival looked great, reception was smart and kind of what i expected, on getting our keys and told where our room was we jump into the lift to the third floor, as we started to walk down the corridor to our room we noticed how neglected this part of the hotel was, tatty paint work, skirting boards hanging off and generally poor, we took it as the cheeper deal part of the hotel, the room was good and were pleased. all was well till we got a knock on the door at 8am, after the third knock i got up to find the cleaner walking in... i was disgusted , we stayed here to get a lay in from our young children only to be woken by a cleaner telling us its our fault because we didnt display a do not disturb card, on complaining i was told i would be called back by a manager but never did, and on sending an email complaining about what happened and not being contacted as i was told i would, have still heard nothing. very disappointed.

Not the best

Quite an interesting hotel this one, overall not the best I have stayed in. Check in and check out was very time consuming, either because you are waiting for a considerable time, or because the process seems incredibly complicated. Its not that these bits were overcrowded, more that they seem very bureaucratic. The room was good and clean, but not amazing. Biggest issue was the facilities and services were not explained, or easy to work out. The only information in the rooms was either a very poor photocopy of the menu, or tags hanging off various doors. The only way to find out about the facilities was to stand in another long line. When found, the gym etc was good. In conclusion, it has the potential to be an excellent hotel, but needs to look at it self to get there.

A very acceptable airport hotel

This hotel is getting a little tired now but our room had been well renovated and the service as always was impeccable. After a late arrival the snack we had in our room was very tasty and just right for the late evening. All the staff without exception were smiley and obliging. It probably is not the most luxurious hotel at Heathrow but neither was the price but if you want a reasonable, good quality hotel with just the right amount of friendliness and service this hotel takes some beating.

Sheriton HOtel - Heathrow

Nice hotel. Staff very helpful. Asked to change roooms as although booked into a non-smoking room, the room had clearly been a smoking room at some point (the wing on the right as you enter the hotel - they are all the same aparently).
The buffet was ok but not very hot - probably better to order off the menu.
Great access to airport. If arriving at terminal 5 on the Heathrow Express, get the National Express transfer to the door for £4 - tickets in the terminal.

Okay at lateroom price

This has been a grand hotel in its day but some of the gloss has faded. The refurb rooms are fairly good but you get the impression the older bits are of a higher quality, although now tired.
Was feeling it was not as good as expected but the shower and the blackout curtains saved the day. No airport noise at all (airbourne or corridor). Warning - dont pay for parking using the machine - twice the price of paying at reception!!

Overpriced Airport Hotel

The hotel is dilapidated and needs serious renovation. It's an airport hotel so obviously Sheraton think that the fact it's awful doesn't really matter, transient trade won't be there long enough to complain. Unfortunately for £150 per night it should matter. Interconnecting corridors have no lights, rooms are on the small side, bathroom is the best feature (I dread to think that they used to be like before they were renovated), Iron looked dangerous (I decided not to use it), TV remote was a big as a shoe box, all numbers were missing, some buttons didn't work, it was not replaced after complaining. Aircon didn't work, but it did blow stale air around the room. To be honest I don't have many good things to say so i should probably stop
However, to cap it all off they gave another guest the key to my room, which was quite entertaining at 10pm. When leaving I mentioned this to the member of staff who said they would investigate, I've heard nothing, no written apology, but they did try to fob me off with a free breakfast.
I won't be going back.
I'll try and avoid this one in the future.
