I stayed for one night - location was perfect for a meeting I had in Paddington the following day. Room was clean enough but very very small and also quite noisy as the window's were quite old.Bathroom was again clean but small - staff on reception were very friendly and room service was available, although I had already had dinner before I arrived.TV in room was probably the worst point as there were only six channels and all had pretty bad reception.Overall absolutely fine for a business stop-over but nothing special.

However, one small problem was that the shower head holder was broken preventing it being raised to a height to stand under for a powerful wake up splash. it wasnt a major issue and i didnt call room service to fix it, but it was a niggle.i also prefer their sister Hotel at Nr. 55 on the same street which has had a more recent refurb.

Got a very reasonable rate at fifty-five pounds for a twin and was upgraded to better room upon arrival: but this room's lighting was too low for me to read a book and it was cold. Was moved to another room that was smaller but the heat kicked in fine and the staff brought us an extra lamp. Couldn't get my computer to pick up Wi FI, but they got someone to come to help with this and then it was fine. Had a blocked sink but engineer came and unblocked it.Really liked the service and breakfast was good.I would definitely stay there again for around the same price.

Room was clean and tidy and adequate in size for the one night stop over. However although I appeared to get a very good rate on the room given the grading of the hotel I was definitely given one of the lower end rooms.1) The basement was very warm and if I used the air conditioning it hummed and rattled so I had a uncomfortable room in terms of temperature.2) The television/media set up looked fancy but thats all it did - look fancy - The chanels available were minimal and the reception/picture quality was really really below par. As for the radio, well either it was me or it was non existent as I was unable to access the few radio stations which were supposed to be on offer.3) I found the hotel very noisy as doors were opened and closed at all hours of the night. I have stayed in hotels were the doors are silent so I know it is possible. Perhaps 'above the stairs' they are?Would I use the hotel again? I am not sure. I have paid similar rates before in London and received more. Perhaps choosing because of convienience was not a good idea.

This was basically a hostel with a fancy check-in desk. The staff was all very nice, but the room was very sub-par. I stay at a lot of hotels and I would give this one 2 stars. There wasn't enough room to put my suitcase down, the shower was barely big enough for me to fit and I'm a small guy. The room was in a basement with a view of a little alley covered in used condoms and cigarette butts. There is a market for this type of property, but I'm not that market and I was expecting 4 stars as advertised.

The room was certainly not 4 star being a bit shabby and the bathroom needed some TLC.There was an intermittent annoying droning noise that I think came from the water supply pipes in the wall which was very irritating and led to a sleepness second night (I should have worn my earplugs as I did on the first night ! The internet on the T.V didn't seem to work as it took an age to load, as this wasn't that important to me I didn't complain about it.

Arrived and was supposed to have a "Deluxe" Room. The bed was broken and the room smelled. In fairness to the staff they moved me immediately and were very apologetic. However, the new room was very very very small - just enough room for a small double bed and the shower room was tiny. You could just about get into the shower cubicle. No way to bend down and pick the soap up if you dropped it without opening the shower door. The temperature of the shower fluctuated from boiling hot to luke warm without moving the dial. You had to dry off in the room because there was not enough room in the shower room to dry yourself. The bed spread was stained and smelled as did the curtains. All in all not at all good.

In general the room was good, however, being as though (I assume) that the majority of residents taking up these quad rooms would be families, the bathroom is tiny! There is barely room to brush your own teeth without banging your elbow on the wall, let alone assist your children with a shower and brushing their teeth. The only other gripe I have is with the television service. I only wanted to get the football score but hardly any of the interactive TV service was working (either that or it was taking forever to 'load'). I was unable to get any radio reception and so was couldn't listen to the match either. The room was immaculately clean with a good supply of tea and coffee making supplies. The complimentary newspaper on arrival was a nice touch which gave the hotel a feeling of decadence. The temperature was very hot in the room (similarly in your Notting Hill Shaftsbury which we stayed once) and we had to have the air conditioning on all night. This was very noisy but the next night we left the windows open instead and was pleasantly surprised at how quiet the area was. We were unable to comment on the food as we decided not to book breakfast having been dissappointed during our stay at Notting Hill. We found the food there to be cooked well but of very low grade (sawdust sausages etc). We assumed that this sister hotel would have the same supplies. The cafe up the road did an exellent, belly busting full English for £6, an establishment frequented by the local train station workers, which was endorsement enough for us. We were not dissappointed. On the whole, a pleasant stay apart from the morning ablutions battle with the kids, however I would advise a family to book somewhere which offered a double and two singles and a family friendly bathroom (I think if they got rid of the bath and had a large shower that this would be a better use of the existing space). For some extra money when opting for such a room, I know the hotel offers a duplex room with a double and a double sofa bed on different levels which would help with getting the kids off to sleep whilst the adults share a glass of wine. This type of room was given to our friends for whom we booked a room at the same time...same price (gutted why we didn't get it. We had to go to bed at 8pm otherwise the kids wouldn't go to sleep).

In only paid £52, apparently reduced from £350 but never in a million years is it worth that much but still very good value. Importantly, clean and safe. Walls a little thin and I could hear the couple in the next room getting "jiggy" with it, initially amusing but after 45 mins I was hating for chap for having that much stamina as I couldn't sleep. TV tiny and bad reception but bareable, staff curteous and polite. Worst thing was occasionally they would run out of hot water after 715am and the same again 12 hours later, the staff would simply say keep the taps going for 5 mins and it will get hot again (it didn't barely luke warm at best). Overall, only thing wrong with the place was thin walls and occasionally no hot water during "peak" times.

This was a hotel found using the secret rooms facility. The price of the hotel room was the same as the full list price, so no discount there. The room I booked turned out to be an incredibly small room. There was approx. 1ft from the end of the bed to the wall and you could near enough touch both side walls if you extended your arms out to the side. The bathroom was so small that I had to put my wash bag on the toilet as there was nowhere else to put it. The shower was approx. 2ft 6in square and you had to enter it sideways on as there wasn't enough room to enter the shower face on. The hotel itself is a rabbit warren of small corridors and tight staircases and very deceptive from the room lounge and reception area seen from the road. I believe this was advertised as a 4 star hotel, this was definately not what a customer would expect a 4 star hotel to be.

We had booked a last minute deal and chose the hotel for its value for money and proximity to Paddington station. The room was on the 3rd floor - unfortunately right next to the lift shaft. This meant that you could hear the lift and even the "lift going up" woman's voice when it stopped on the 3rd floor! The room itself was very clean and a reasonable size for the price. The bathroom was a decent size with a good shower over the bath, although the it was quite hard to get around the door to get into the bathroom. The worst part was that one of our neighbours either above or next door were having a party into the early hours and as far as I'm aware was ignored and the guests were not challenged over the noise by staff - which was quite disappointing.I would stay again but I would ask for a room away from the lift and I would call reception about the noise and get them to do something. I'm just too English sometimes.

I chose this hotel because of proximity to Paddington Station knowing I would have to walk home alone late at night. When I arrived to check in, the staff told me they were overbooked and there was a taxi to take me to a sister hotel. She showed me the location on the map but it was somewhere in Queensway. I told her that I would not go because I am unfamiliar with that area and have to travel back alone late at night so it would be too dangerous. At that, they asked me to wait for the room to be cleaned (at 4.30pm!) and they would bring me a cup of tea (sadly the bar doesn't open until 6pm). No tea arrived and after 20 mins I had to go asking about my room. The room was nicely furnished with a good bathroom, but quite cold. I appreciate that the room had been cleaned in a hurry, but I did find a half-eaten pizza in the box on top of the (empty) mini-bar. Having said all that, a glass of wine arrived quickly via room service, and most of the staff seem to be trying their best in difficult circumstances.

This hotel is very close to Paddington station making it very convenient for travelling. However, for a supposedly 4 star hotel the room was very tired and in need of attention (not at all like the photos), also the hot tap had to be run for 15 minutes in order to get hot water for a shower! The breakfast was £12 (booked in advance) which is very steep considering the choice and quality was worse than certain budget hotel chains at closer to £8.

The room was well appointed with internet access included in the price. The problem was I booked a 'double' room but the room had a 4 foot wide bed, so if there had been two of us it would have been very uncomfortable - as it was the mattress was very uncomfortable so I didn't get the best sleep.Whilst the power shower was brilliant, the bathroom was not very well laid out so it was very tight in terms of being able to use the toilet which was wedged between the wall and the bath tub.

I was moved to another hotel by (complimentary) taxi accompanied by another guest who was being moved as the hotel had problems with it's boiler? Not taken in by that story. I think the hotel was being used to obtain bookings to then transfer guests/victims to "sister" hotels but of course that may be wrong. I am aware of another 3 guests who were put in the same situation that evening. I was moved to somewhere i have chosen to forget the name of 2 blocks away. It was dirty, smelled of stale sweat in the corridors and the decor appeared to have been maintained by a badly-behaved class of 5-year olds. Overall highly unpleasant experience putting me off using laterooms again. A category below asks what this hotel is suitable for but the option "closure" is not available.

Whilst I was there, I heard the same story being given out to a dozen or so other arrivals, some of whom said they'd had the same experience with this company before (so why give them a second chance?!). Also, I overheard guests complaining at reception about the state of their rooms and other faults - one woman said it would be quicker to list what was right than what was wrong. Nice enough hotel but certainly not worth the money! We paid only 1/8 of the usual room rate as we booked so late, and at that price it was worth it, but had I paid the full amount we would have been severely disappointed. The room was fine, but very, very small. The bathroom was perfectly nice and clean, but again, absolutely tiny. It is also not made particularly clear that only some rooms have large screen TV and Sky - it wasn't a big problem as we were busy in the city but we were surprised to see a small screen with only 6 or so channels. All the staff were very nice and helpful, except the one who checked us in, who gave the impression that 'Can we book breakfast in advance?' was a stupid question and generally didn't seem particularly welcoming. Everyone else was nice though, particularly the man who gave us a new key when we managed to lock ourselves out, though it was a little worrying that he didn't check who I was before handing over a new one!At the moment there are roadworks outside, which are noisy and began rather early in the morning, waking us up even though we were high up on floor 6.Breakfast was very nice and the restaurant room and other public areas were clean and well-kept. A couple of times we had to walk up the stairs to our room - not ideal given we were floor 6 and both have leg problems - as the lift wasn't working properly.Overall, this hotel is fine if you can get a lot of money off, but is nowhere near worth its official rate. It's got a good location near Paddington (though the website's directions are a bit unclear) but if you want a hotel to spend some time in rather than to be just a stopping point during exploration of the city, it's much too cramped to really enjoy.

I arrived at the hotel at around midnight after a 6 hour train journey so was suitably tired. When I found the hotel I was greated by reception with the comment that they had plumbing problems and that therefore there was no room for me but that they would put me up in a sister hotel. Eventually after waiting an hour and taking my money in advance they booked me a taxi to the Westland Hotel in Bayswater. A 1970's relic which was probably last decorated then. It was not filthy but as everthing was so old it had ground it dirt as a general feature. There have been other reports on here and trip advisor about no rooms available due to plumbing so I suspect they use laterooms to offer rooms they do not have and just find an older hotel willing to find a bed for a small fee as they did not have alternative arrangements in place when I got there, they started ringing round then. Make sure you book somewhere else.

C'est propre, ça manque un peu d'espace, le prix du petit déj est dissuasif (15 euros par personne!). C'est plutôt calme (quelques problèmes d'insonorisation). C'est trop cher ! Dommage car Londres est une ville vraiment sympathique.

I got the room at a good price, but the standard price is very high. There didn't appear to be many faciities - just a small lounge and free broadband - so I can't see how they can justify premium prices. In my ignorance I didn't realise that the card to get into the room was also needed to turn on the lights in the room, so had to wend my way back to reception to find this out. I think they should tell guests that this was how you turn on the lights.

We got this room for £110 and was amazed to find it was a duplex (2 storey) room, which we certainly didn't expect for £110!Aside from the firealarm going off at 2am, the room and hotel was fantastic. I don't think, however, I would pay the full original price of £245 for this room though.

This hotel is Ideally situated for Paddington Station and the underground. The reception was clean and modern and the staff were friendly and helpful, however their knowledge of London and events in general was poor. This was possibly due to the fact that all the staff were foreign. The room was very small but at £65 for a twin represented good value.I would stay there again if i was looking for a cheap place to stay overnight.

I wish I was able to provide a review of the hotel that I had reserved a room through your company. However, on my arrival I was informed with no explanation that I was being transferred to their sister hotel in Earl's Court. While I was in the taxi I soon realised that the Kensington Town House hotel in Talgarth Road was nowhere near where I wanted to be as I had specifically chosen the Hyde Park as it was near Paddington. For my partner, the location was unhelpful for her journey the next morning as well. After I had booked in I found that the room offered was in the basement with the sound of tube trains rumbling past every two or three minutes. This was an unacceptable and the room was nowhere near the standard I had expected when I booked with lateroom. By now my partner had arrived and she agreed that we needed to speak to the manager. We told him that we wanted a more acceptable room. He informed me that he did not have any other type of room. We told him it was down to his company to sort the problem. From the various phone calls he had it would appear that his company did not want to take responsibility for this mess. They attempted to offer a small discount and breakfast or my money back. I was not interested in any discount or breakfast I just wanted a room that I had expected when I booked. Eventually, we ended up in another hotel along Harrington Gardens which was comfortable and adequate but by 9.30pm I was passed caring. I believe I encountered extremely poor service on that night and I have great reservations in booking through your company in the future if this the level of service and customer care I can expect. There are number of questions I would like answered. Is this usual for customers of laterooms to be treated in this dismal way? Why did no one bother to contact me before I turned up at the Hyde Park hotel? I arrived at 6.30ish. The Kensington Town House offered a room that did not in anyway reflect the room I had expected, why did anyone think from the hotel point of view that this was an acceptable and fair arrangement? What guarantees can laterooms give that this will not happen in the future?

Good to have air con in your room ( even out of the summer months) as you never know if the hotel will be too hot or too noisy to open the window.Good quality room - helpful staff and location very good for Paddington tubes and station and local restaurants etc.

Considering the location and that London is known...
Considering the location and that London is known to be an expensive city, it was good value overall. I was a little annoyed when I arrived as I had had a very tiring journey and when I checked in I was told that I had booked a twin room for one night which was correct. When I got to the room it was a double, of which they were totally aware. So I had to go back downstairs and they gave me a triple, which is what they should have done in the first place, but they were hoping they could just swing this by us and we would take the double. I don't appreciate this kind of time wasting when I'm travelling, I would not have minded if it was an honest mistake but it definately was not, they just did not have any twin rooms left and could not just graciously upgrade us due to their own mistake. This is very typical to me of the English hospitality industry (of which I have worked myself). The room was quiet and the beds were comfortable, the fresh flowers and newspapers were a lovely touch and overall it was pleasant.

Avoid this hotel at all cost our experience...
Avoid this hotel at all cost, our experience was dreadful. We should have realised that something was wrong when we arrived and the windows in our room were wide open with the air conditioning running at full blast. As we were only in London for 2 nights we headed straight out for dinner and returned to find the room smelling awful, its was late by then so we went to bed. In the morning the smell wasn’t much better and found that it was coming from the drains in the en-suite toilet. The shower was poor and only a dribble of water came out. We made the best of it and returned late that night to avoid spending much time in our room. The next morning when we woke to get showered prior to departure, we found the smell had become so bad that it was unbearable to even enter the toilet – a choking raw sewage smell. The only option was to go without a shower or even a wash before checking out. At reception I complained about the problem and the only answer I received was “That’s a shame! – do you want a receipt”If we had been staying longer I would have found a different hotel and walked out. This is a real pity as Late Rooms offer a great service and seem to be getting a raw deal from this hotel chain who clearly do not offer the same £395 rooms that they advertise to discount bookers – a scam and complete rip off.The rooms at the Shaftesbury Premier London Hyde Park are not the only things that smell in this sorry instance – just don’t go!

We were lucky enough to be up-graded to a larger room for the same price as a standard room. The room we had was at the back so very quiet. Also clear, comfortable and nicely furnished. Space was limited however with little room between the end of the bed and the TV cabinet. The bathroom was as others have commented very small, but perfectly adequate for a couple of nights. Overall good value for money bearing in mind the location.

The room wasn't anything even close to 4*. You could barely move in it because it was poorly designed. The TV kept turning itself off, the milk for the coffee was all off (even though there were in longlife pots) and there was no view at all. Disappointing.

The reception was as far we got as they were having mantainence problems. An apology,a free beer and a free taxi to The Marleybone Hotel sorted it out. The second hotel was far superior to the photo's for the original booked hotel, and i would probably not bother with the Shaftesbury Premier London Hyde Park in future. For no other reason than i now know what the Marleybone Hotel was like. The only downer was it wasn't near Paddington Station, which was the initial reason for booking there, and it cost £8 taxi to get back the next morning.

After some confusion over the very limited parking - after all, this is central London - the staff were helpful and polite.Close to tubes to get anywhere in London. Close enough to Hyde Park & on to Kensington etc.Bars & Pubs & Cafes nearby, but they don't intrude into this relatively quiet, leafy street.I wouldn't have paid the non "Late Rooms" tariff. And don't bring a cat to your room - you won't be able to swing it.

All that said the staff i dealt with were v good and attentive to my needs. The parking available is also a bonus (if available)
