The hotel is spotlessly clean and well maintained. The room I had, on the first floor, was small though very well appointed and exceptionally clean. The overall stay was excellent for just that single night. However, the one reason I booked this particular hotel was the fact it clearly stated in the 'facilities' description on Late Rooms that there was and Iron and Board in every room. Knowing that I was going to need these items immediately on arriving at the hotel because of my tight schedule, I was disappointed that there was no iron or board and had to ask at reception for one to be brought to the room and then wait for it to arrive. This might seem a petty complaint but under the circumstances it is what motivated me choosing this hotel over and above my usual one.

Faulty Towers

Arriving at the hotel I was advised that my room was being painted for the Olympics. I was to be transferred to a sister hotel by a hotel taxi but was to pay the room first and would get my invoice at the other hotel. The taxi then took me to the sister hotel were I was informed this was a mistake and I was to go to another hotel. After much discussion I stayed at the 2nd hotel! The following morning I was unable to obtain an invoice for the money I had paid as the receptionist could not operate the computers and I was to go back to the first hotel to get this!
The food was disgusting. The "Premier" restaurant offers were Panni and chips - which were poor but the breakfast was not a pleasant experience either - unless you are in to rubber! If you stay here - eat out!!
The hotel itself was very clean and the rooms were a good size - but the whole experience was so chaotic it makes faulty towers look like the Ritz!

Disappointed

The hotel is being modernised for the Olympic Games and we were moved to Shaftesbury Paddington by taxi on arrival. They obviously knew about this before they took the booking. The Shaftesbury Paddington put us into the smallest rooms in the hotel to start with but moved us to slightly larger rooms on request - still very cramped for 3 days. The only good thing was they gave us complimentary breakfast for the inconvenience.

Not brilliant but not bad.

Nice little hotel with good, clean functional rooms. My room was rather small with little room beyond the bed.
The free Wi Fi was very valuable and made the difference to me in booking the room.
Breakfast was not included. This was offered at a "special rate" of £11.95 but with Starbucks a few yards away I didn't take up the offer.

Value for Money; Good location

When we first arrived the phone was not working. After a lot of calls to the front desk, where there were many inferences that we just didn't know how to use a telephone by staff who knew very little English, it was fixed. The hotel was non-smoking but one of the neighbouring rooms obviously did not observe this rule and it was not very enjoyable to wake up in the middle of the night with tobacco smoke drifting in from the corridor. Otherwise, it was a very pleasant experience: clean, relatively modern facilities and good access to grocery stores for late night shopping, and two different tube stations. Would stay here again.

London Theatre Trip

Ideal Location, fairly flat area for walking on level ground ( if impaired mobility a problem ) to Kensington Gardens approx 300yds away, and also Bayswater High St ( The Queensway ) a similar distance, with plenty of shops and restaurants to choose from. Also access to " two Tube Stations" in The Queensway if you prefer to use the Tube Network for travelling about in London, and very easy to flag down a London Taxi, as Inverness Terrace is a one-way street.

Good value but...

Travelled to London to allow an early start for a meeting the following morning. The room was very small but clean and had all the facilities expected including an excellent shower. For the price paid, a bargain. The catch was the noise. My room overlooked Inverness Terrace and there was constant noise from the moment I arrived until around 2am. After a few hours respite, it started again around 6am. The window wasn't double glazed so it did little to stop the noise. So in summary, good value but it helps if you are a heavy sleeper!

I paid £109 for this room which I think is very expensive but seems to be the rate you have to pay for a half decent room in London these days. This was without breakfast although I did get complimentary breakfasts as my hotel was changed from the one I booked. The room was very small but its saving grace was that the mattress was very comfortable. The tv was large and v good quality. The shower was puny and pathetic and hardly any room in the shower room/ toilet to organise yourself. Every single item if furniture was scratched and in need of immediate replacement. The breakfasts were good but a bit on the luke warm side. ( thats the trouble with buffet style breakfasts that sit there for a couple of hours or so.). I'd rather wait for my breakfast to be cooked when I arrive.- not really beyond the wit of man when paying the above sum is it ?? The staff were friendly and efficient esp the lady serving the excellent coffee at breakfast. The toaster thingy was also good as it meant you had hot toast instead of some that had been made half an hour ago as in lots of hotels. On the whole it was pretty good and I may well stay there again if I have to pay a great deal more to get anything much better.

Nice view of a brick wall

I do not stay in hotels very often, so treated myself to a Club room. I assume the 'club' referred to was the 'not enough room to swing a cat club'. Still, at least there was the view to look forward to. On opening the curtains, I was met with two brick walls about 5 metres away. Actually, that's not fair. There was also an air conditioning unit covered with pigeon droppings.
I could go on to talk about the airless basement restaurant and the disinterested staff. Let's just say I should have taken more notice when I arrived of the lady at reception who was complaining about her room and how it was nothing like the picture on the website.
Massively overpriced.

Excellent, Spotless, Value for Money, Ideal location Hotel

Stayed here 20 and 21 Feb for work and really can say it is excellent value for money. Got a free upgrade in room size and for me it was perfect. Spotless mordern room. Microwave, plates cutlery etc in room and local shops and restaurants very close by for takeaway or pick up a meal to microwave. Modern small batroom, perfectly presented and all the facilities you would need and expect. For my work trips and even if I was on pleasure trip I will use this again in a few weeks. Few minutes walk to Queensway tube took me less than 45 minutes to get to the centre of London. Great size TV too.

Two night break

Hotel was very clean, room was small but had all you needed, very comfortable bed perfect for a few nights. It had obviously been subject to a recent referbishment. I am a seasoned travaller and spend a lot of time in hotels this was one of the better ones, would have no hesitation in reccomending and will stay again next time in London. Location was also perfect with choice of tube stations less than 5 mins away.

Great hotel in great location

Friendly and welcoming reception. We were given a free upgrade on arrival. The room was cosy, with excellent decor and furnishings and was very clean. Bathroom was modern, clean and in good order. Bed was extremely comfy. Microwave and tea/coffee facilities in room. Hotel was in great location just round corner from Bayswater and very close to couple of tube stops. Would definitely return and recommend this hotel.

Lovely Hotel, Excellent Location!

A really lovely hotel, when we arrived we were given a free upgrade from a deluxe room to a club room, so we had a nice balcony view from the front of the hotel. The hotel was warm and cosy which was good as it was icy cold outside, the lobby smelt of sweet vanilla. The staff were helpful with directions to places, the nearest tube, Bayswater is a stones throw away. For us the location was ideal, we walked through Hydes Park to The Natural History Museum and Knightsbridge. The only disadvantage is if you travel by car, the NCP parking around the corner was £24 for 24 hrs and there were no parking spaces with the hotel. Theres some nice local pubs, and places to eat nearby and you are within walking distance of NottingHill for more fancy restaurants.

Great value for mony-top hotel

Great location, quiet at nights and near tube. Very pleasant staff and a surprise for London!! Rooms are very compact but are up to date and clean/modern. Was upgraded to a 'club room' away from lift because our first room was next to the lift door which has an annoying 'arrived tone' once it arrives on any floor. Reception was most helpful. Its a hotel that tries hard and succeeds. Thanks for a great short break. (Didn't try breakfast as loads of cafe/bar/shops around.)

Great location, titchy (Club) room

2 mins walk out of Bayswater Tube.
Don't do what I did and walk into the similarly named Youth Hostel 3 doors up!
Room was pretty decent, with good strong shower, decent wifi, but room was really small, and loose window panes meant city noise leaked in a bit.
For £80, given proximity to Tube, I think it's pretty good.

Great value

This hotel is very accessible being a stone's throw (if you have a strong arm) from tube stations at Queensway and Bayswater.
We were put in the ground floor room with disabled facilities......not quite sure about the logic for this as neither myself nor my son indicated that. Had any disability. What would have happened if a late booking had turned up who needed the facilities?
Anyway, a perfectly adequate stay with good service.

Down for one night, booked late through laterooms.com so got a great deal. I also got an upgrade on arrival. The room was spotless and comfortable although they could have turned the heating up a bit more as the room was quite cold. The rooms arn't massive but good value for money.
for what i needed, The location did the job - with Bayswater tube 2 minutes walk away and restaurants and pubs also in the same street. good also for Paddington Station which is about a 20 minute walk away and also Hyde park which is at the end of the road 2 minutes walk away.

Last Minute Success

I've used Laterooms on many occasions when my travel needs require me to stay. The Laterooms service has always been excellent but obviously my ability to chose the best hotel varies massively. This was a success story with helpful and efficient checkin, clean room, maybe slightly on the small side but I wasn't throwing a party, comfy bed and effective shower ( a rarity ). I would, and will, happily stay here again. Handy for the tube too.

If we visit London again we shall stay at this hotel, It's location is ideal, being close to 3 tube stations and close to Hyde Park. This part of Bayswater has its own village atmosphere and its own high street, Queensway. It has many good value resteraunts and retail outlets. The Victorian houses in the area are impressive. One of which this small hotel is situated.
