Magic lift

I entered through the green street door after pressing the lift button as instructed by the cook.In a moment I was transported up to little hotel above the streets of K nightsbridge.I was greeted by a young woman from Eastern Europe, she was expecting me and was ready with the keys to my lovely room:pleasantly aired with a large double bed . green silk scatter cushions and a velvet drape, a real orchid on the dressing table. My bathroom was spotlessly clean with fresh towels piled on the heated towel rail and a decently thick bath robe, the windowsill provided Molton Brown shower gel, hair products , body lotion, soap and a shower cap.I rang reception and was promptly supplied with more hot chocolate than I could drink.I settled down to read my book after hanging my unlimited breakfast selection outside my door.It was saturday night so there was live music until midnight, then all was silent. My morning call was reliable and I took breakfast on the roof terrace-currently in the process of being refurbished so no plants but to make up for this i had been given a room upgrade which was thoughtful.Checking out was smooth ,efficient and effortless,as indeed was my whole stay. Well done girls, it's a little gem that I shall tell my friends about

We stayed one night at the Garden rooms, and once we'd got over the lift entrance, the room and the bed were very comfortable, and there was very little street noise. We would definitely stay again as very conveniently located. If the weather had been nice we could have had breakfast on the roof terrace! Something to look forward too, when we return in the summer.

I'm not sure I stayed at the same hotel as the other reviewers....

Or at least, I don't recognise it from their descriptions.
On arrival, the customer lift was broken down, so I was led up the back stairs by the very helpful receptionist. That was acceptable/understandable.
The unleasant surprise only emerged on getting to the room. The dimensions were approximately 9' by 6'. There was an en-suite bathroom, which was perfectly hygienic, but was so small that there was no space for the sink. That was in the bedroom, further reducing the available space - and was memorable for being inset into a particularly hideous 1970s style vanity unit. The decor was best described as mid-market B&B from the 1980s, right down to a shabby green velour footstool - an odd addition, given there was no space for a chair to sit in!
The "entertainment facilities" consisted of a 12" (or so) flat screen TV with a poor aerial connection - and the remote control was missing. The dimensions of the room were such that there was no space even for a bedside table. On the upside, the bed was comfortable and the sheets clean and crisp.
It may be I drew the short straw, and got the last remaining room (aka converted broom cupboard), but it really was on the absolute verge of acceptability, even at the reduced price at which I booked.

Once you have managed to access the hotel via the cranky lift from the street - not easy to find on a dark rainy night, the staff were very friendly. The room was nicely decorated and functional with basic bathroom . Made up for by lovely Moulton Brown products!
Very convenient for NCP car park and shopping areas. Great for a short stay.

A very short walk from Knightsbridge station, close to shops, close to Harrods etc. If returning back to the hotel late you let yourself in with a key, no need for reception which makes it an easy process. Breakfast served to your room in the morning. Continental but a fair choice. Toast was a bit cold but boiled egg cooked as we had asked. Would defo stay again!

Hidden gem

We got a last minute deal so it was great value for money. The room was very cosy and tastefully decorated and the location is surprisingly peaceful and quiet. Had a lovely breakfast on the roof terrace (weather permitting) and as it is a small, personal hotel you can request your preferred breakie time instead of adhering to dictated times- great for a lazy Sunday! Wife Loved the molton brown goodies in the bathroom! Would definitely stay again.

Lovely hotel, lovely staff

I came across this on the laterooms website and decided to book it based on what other people had said. It's a quirky place, with an almost secret entrance by lift. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was a bit on the small side but lovely and clean, with comfy beds and a nice bathroom. We had continental breakfast on the roof terrace and there was plenty of it. A good location too, just round the corner from Knightsbridge tube station.

Club-like feel in a great location

Friendly, helpful staff and the 'secret door' entrance help to give this place the feel of an exclusive club. The single rooms are fairly small, as expected in this price range, bit it's clean, quiet and comfortable. Quality toiletries complete the luxury feel.
A tea tray was brought into my room when I arrived - which was a nice touch. Breakfast is served in your room rather than in a breakfast room, which was fine by me.
Try it.

Wonderful

It was extremely quirky but at £135 brilliant value for money. it felt a bit like having your own private apartment. slight eccentricities about gaining access, the hot water and various clanks and groans from the lift actually didn't worry me because the room was lovely, bed comfortable and the staff absolutely brilliant. I'll be back if they have a room free!

A Gem of a Hotel

Fantastic small Hotel in a fantastic location, literally round the corner from Harrods.
NCP car park is next door although it is more expensive than mentioned on line (costs £54 for 24 hours!! ) The breakfast arrangement was fantastic, great choice for continental.
Staff are courteous and friendly and very welcoming. It's quiet, pretty and quite lavish rooms with all the amenities you need. Loved the Molton Brown set in the bathroom. Bathroom was large with a huge wall length mirror with ample light. Comfy beds and beutiful decor with attention to detail. Would definately stay again and would recommend to all!

Awful

Terrible Hotel... tiny room.. (single bed) from which the tv couldn't be seen.... not only that but the hotel also deems it appropriate to put on party functions until the early hours... given its such a small place, the music pounding through my walls until gone 1am... boiled eggs were uncooked as well.... so if its and a very poor nights sleep you're after.. then be sure to make Searcys your next stay... massively disappointed and annoyed after leaving this place.. you'd be better off at a premier inn

Generally this area of London is expensive but this place is quite reasonably priced relative to the larger establishments near by.

Room 6 is the smallest hotel room in the Universe!

Despite my initial shock at being sent to what looked like a broom cupboard, room 6 turned out to be a good room. Reminiscent of the 80's and studio apartments with flip down beds, it was in fact very cosy, rather bijou and had a lovely view over the roof terrace. So it worked for me as a lone female business traveller and was rather a back to childhood experience with the (most comfortable) very single bed. I wouldn't recommend it if you have a lot of work to do and need space! Excellent location, lovely service, generous Molton Brown toiletries and a good continental breakfast which included a fresh smoothie. Yup, I'd come again but would specify another room perhaps next time.

Very handy for the Knightsbridge shops

The room was very nice with a very large bed, one of the best I have had in a UK hotel.
The breakfast was very nice with a good selection. The weather being good we were able to have breakfast in the roof garden. The lift (an old goods lift) could do with being upgraded to reflect the rest of the hotels decor. A very pleasend place to stay and so handy for the shops in knightsbridge. Would stay here again as it makes a change from the large gin palace type hotels.

Fantastic last minute getaway!

I needed a last minute hotel for Central London. I used the tried and tested Late-rooms.com and found the Searcy Roof Garden Rooms. It was perfectly located just behind Harrods and a stones throw away from Knightsbridge tube station. We were welcomed into the quirky entrance by a friendly face. The frontage is very unassuming but upon opening the door you walk straight into a lift. The room was small but had enough space for a large king size bed and a bathroom. It was perfect for a base to explore any part of London. We dropped our bags off mid-afternoon and then returned late at night. The bed was very comfy and breakfast in bed was the perfect start to a long day of travel on Sunday. I expected the room and hotel to be of a high standard and I wasn't dissapointed. I would go back in a flash and have reccomended to anyone who would listen.

Little gem in Knightsbridge

After a rather quirky entrance you are met with a warm personal welcome. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and as a woman on her own I felt very safe. The breakfast was the best ever. My room was a single and a little cramped but overall good value for money and the place felt like a house rather than a standarised hotel.

Great little hotel great location

Searcy's Roof Top Hotel is very well located being very close to Harrods and Harvey Nicholls, to transport and many good restaurants. Also close to the park. The room was large by London standards with 2 big windows that opened when air conditioning not needed. The bathroom was also good. There is no restauarnt but room service is quick and good. Breakfast on the terrace was a delight. The reception is in an office on the first floor and the entry to the hotel is by lift straight on the street. We liked this unusual arrangement as we have no need for a fancy lobby. Highly recommended.

Weird but Fun

The weirdest and most unassuming hotel entrance I've ever been to, but friendly welcome and excellent free caffetierre of coffee despite it being late. Breakfast on the roof terrace was fun, if a bit lonely, and although only a continental, it was well prepared. But the room really was very small. If it's poor weather, you have to eat breakfast in the room, but I don't know where you would put the tray down!
