Summary
Fantastic chef and Italian waiter in The Jam Cupboard restaurant. Our room was exremely clean and comfortable BUT the bathroom was extremely tiny with shower, toilet and miniscule cloakroom sink, our downstairs cloakroom at home is bigger! Staff in reception and bar need some customer service training as were not at all helpful. I would recommend for one night stay or just having a meal as the food was gorgeous and reasonably priced.
Summary
Lovely, clean room and great service.
Summary
Great location to u/gd, Harrods, Kensington gardens and Royal Albert Hall. Good value for money. No criticisms.
Summary
For one night, a single bedroom clean compact and with complimentary coffee and tea in a very good location.was just perfect. Stay longer and with a larger suitcase you might feeel a little inconvenienced by the small size of room. A high ceiling prevented it being opressive.
I didn't take breakfast as the price tag seemed a little steep for coffee and a croissant. A nearby bakery with seats did a lovely breakfast at much lower cost.
Fantastic hotel in an amazing location for a great price. Mini bar was also great value for money. Next time will definitely be trying the food! Absoultely loved the decor... dont think I could sneak one of the purple alice in wonderland chairs out the door. Polo bar next door added an extra touch of class.
Superb!
Ok
Summary
Great hotel in a great location, staff very friendly, which is qiute unusal for a central London hotel if your not paying more than £300.00.
Room was small but perfectly formed with everything you need and expeptionally clean and very comfortable.
The rooms in this hotel have been refurbished to a high standard. A single room and the ensuite is nevertheless very small but adequate for just one person
Summary
The Hotel was very clean and comfortable. Staff were obliging and very courteous.Breakfast was pleasant and very adequate. Our room was well furnished and tasteful. The Hotel was perfectly situated for our requirements - within walking distance of the Albert Hall and the V&A Museum.
Summary
Lovely clean, contemporary hotel very close to tube and easy access to central London site seeing spots and for shopping. Perfect if coming in to Victoria - only three stops away on tube. Will certainly be going back!
Summary
This is a great little find. Modern stylish rooms, clean, cheery staff, super location, good value for money. We'll be back.
Summary
Clean room, very comfortable bed, huge tv, but let down by erratic air con/heating system, room service which took more than an hour to arrive, an upgrade price entered incorrectly on the bill and all prices being exclusive of VAT (incl room service), plus building work throughout the hotel.
I stayed in one of the newly refurbished rooms. Comfortable room, lovely big bed and very clean of course. The bathroom was disappointing however, I couldn't fill the sink because the plug didn't work and there wasn't enough water coming out of the shower to water a pot plant. Breakfast was great, not a buffet but cooked freshly - very good.
Summary
What an awful experience. I travel a lot as a television journbalist and have stayed in some ropey places, but this place...
Freesing cold room, dampt sheets, toilet hadn't been cleaned. Lumpy bed. Surly, unhelpful staff who couldnt find my.reservation even when it was in front of them.Room sevice took. I hour to deliver a sandwich and a pot of coffee. The coffee was cold. I could go on and on, but frankly, what's the point. My strong reccomendation is not to stay here. Ever.
Clean and comfortable although decor etc rather dated. Excellent breakfast. I'd book again for an overnight stop.
Summary
Small room----Not as clean as we would have hoped for.
Summary
The room I stayed in on the first floor was not marked so having searched for it, I then had to go back to reception and ask where it was! The receptionist apologised and said that they were going to take action to show directions to the room but given that she was aware that it was not easy to find, I do feel she could have told me when I checked in. Overall hotel was fine - the single rooms are very small but functional and have everything you need.
Summary
Rooms are small, but all the hotels in this area are due to the old arcitechture... centrally located for what I needed, though over priced for what you get. This was an emergency for me as I had no choice... best shop around for the best deal, but if you want this area it's all very much the same.
Summary
The room was so0 basic it's hard to believe that they would normally charge as much as they claim! For my special rate it was just about OK, tho' it was a b&b sort of experience. The breakfast was good and staff friendly, and it is conveneiently located.
Summary
Smallest room i have ever staying in
Summary
Convenient for Albert Hall. Reception staff friendly and helpful. Nicely furnished room and well equipped bathroom/shower room. Loved the products.
Summary
Great, clean, boutique accommodation near tube
Summary
I booked a single room and was very pleased with the standard. The bed was extremely comfortable and the facilities good for a single traveller. The hotel itself was conveniently located close to Gloucester Rd tube and, although I didn't have breakfast at the hotel, there was a fabulous french patisserie close by for croissants and the rest. Perfect.
Summary
Only booked night before, excellent price, room v clean if a little small, huge flat screen TV, lovely bathroom with bath. Hotel v convenient for Royal Albert Hall and Museums
Summary
Very impressed by overal appearance of hotel and friendly, helpful attitude of receptionist.
The hotel is very conveniently situated, close to underground station and museums,in a very pleasant area .
Would definitely recommend and will be back. Good room size with modern furniture, very close to tube station for access to all of London and very helpful staff who returned items which were left in the room.
Summary
We stayed at the Rydges Hotel which is undergoing refurbishment - please note late rooms did not inform us of this at the time of booking, and the noise of building started at 8!!!! The refurbishment has been done to a very high standard but there are still things to review, the kettle and hairdryer in our room did not work and the air conditioning was soo noisy you could not sleep with it on which made the room stuffy. On the plus side when we complained the mananger was excellent but i think that a little more attention should be given to the small in room facilities as my brother stayed ina seperate room and experienced problems also with his kettle. Big Plus the showers are fab really good huge heads and fab pressure really good
Summary
Just spent the one night there, brand new refurbished room. Excellent shower and bathroom. Good view of Atherstone Mews from room 302 which meant it was also quiet. Free parking on the Gloucester Road between Saturday 13:30 and Monday morning was a bonus with a choice of spaces available. Thoroughly enjoyable stay. Parts of the hotel are being refurbished with completion around August 2011 but that did not affect us at all. Thanks for a great stay.
Summary
Stayed at the very conveniently located Rydges, it isn't shabby, but it isn't exactly the most exemplary example of a supposed 4* hotel. Just little things like the sealant round the bath and wash basin being tired... Just felt it needed a bit of love and attention. Exec room was fine, however if that is exec... I am glad I didn't go for standard - there cannot be room for a full bed. The main reason for commenting was... A 4am false alarm and an alarm going off every half hour after that - no hot water in the morning after no sleep. I made a tentative complaint and accepted the 10% off the last nights accommodation. Knowing it was pointless trying for more, with the hotel knowing that I will never stay there again, and never recommend it. All they had to say was one free night for all the pain, but you know when customer service is low down the priority list the moment you walk through the door.
Summary
The hotel is centrally located in Kensington, only a few minutes walk from London museum of Science. The underground is just round the corner. From this station you can easily reach the other parts of the city. I was a bit dissapointed with the hotel in general. Small rooms, tiny bathroom, noise from the street, small telly. But the location is great.
Summary
Room was long and thin and slightly tatty. TV system operated badly, oftening kicking you out of the tedious menu selection process and TV picture signal appalling. Really poor value for money. Not helped by the fire alarm going off twice in the middle of the night.
Summary
Only plasce I have ever stayed in that couldn't provide sachet of UHT milk so you could keep overnight and make a coffee first thing.
Summary
Really nice location with very friendly staff, enjoyed my stay
