Summary
Good location
room (single) very small but clean
good mattress
personal friendly
Our room was on the 5th floor and the smallest we ever had. Very soft matresses on the beds. Asked the girl at the reception if it was possible to try and get a room with better matresses (as I woke up with a sore back) but she claimed that all rooms had the same matresses and kept saying that no one had ever complained about them. She did not tackle this in a pleasant way and we felt we were not taken seriously.
Bathroom was okay and clean. Towels were not great quality. No hooks to hang up coats, and hardly any place to leave them but on the beds.
Hot water supply in bedroom wash basin and shower wasteful as a great deal of water needed to be run before warm water provided.
Summary
Easy access to local areas as required.
Summary
Considering I paid a heavily discount price for the room and had read relatively poor reviews about this hotel online before I arrived, I was pleasantly surprised by the standard of accomodation and customer service I received at this hotel. Whilst they are in the process of refurbishing the rooms (and so there are some flat-packs and beds in the corridors), the room I was given was modern and spacious. I had no problems checking-in or out of the hotel and so I would definately look to stay at this hotel again when travelling to London on business.

Summary
Good clean room but very small.
Summary
The room I had was new and in the basement. While newly decorated, I was not convinced that the bedding was being changed between guests. I may be doing them an injustice but the bedding did have what looked suspiciously like hair on and in the bed. Not loads but enough.
Also the basement room was incredibly noisy. There was a constant banging which sounded like a window banging but was probably the air conditioning. Also the builders or cleaners turned up early in the morning (before seven) and banged doors, and chatted and laughed loudly outside my bedroom door.
I assume that the rooms in the main part of the hotel are quieter and cleaner. However, I can not say for sure.
The hotel was very good value for money, the room was very clean and comfortable. A little bit small but as we were only staying for one night and didn't have many bags it was great for us. The bathroom was extremely clean and lovely.
Summary
Very convenient for Paddington station and the room was very good if a little small.
Summary
My 'double room' was large enough to swing a small cat. But it was comfortable and newly refurbished. Although my booking form clearly noted that breakfast was included, the receptionist tried to charge me twice. Printed proof of her error failed to acknowledge an apology of any description - most unprofessional. A phone call to the hotel manager later that day gave the usual "it won't happen again" without his asking who was responsible for my dissatisfaction. £8.50 for orange juice, tea and some toast is hardly value. The discounted rate was the only redeeming feature.
Summary
We were not expecting much given the low price of the room, but just wanted somewhere to rest our heads overnight,. We were delighted with this hotel, had a friendly welcome from the staff upon checkin, found our room down a mazelike corridor, but well signposted.
The room itself was spotlessly clean, modern, and the bathroom had a fantastic power shower. This hotel was excellent and we will definitely stay again and would recommend this hotel to anyone.
This was a last minute booking but we were given a fantastic rate. The hallways were used as storage for upright beds and things that should have been put away in cupboards, however the room itself was clean and perfect for two people.
Summary
Paid £73 for the night and thought this was excellent value for money, room was quite small but was great for what we needed. Room was modern and nicely decorated and bathroom and shower was very clean. Stayed in room 420 and had nice view from room. Hotel around the corner fron lancaster gate tube, 2 min walk.
Summary
Payed extra for this accommodation as guaranteed three single beds, instead we were given a room with a double and single. We were in a rush in the morning and all three had to shower, however, bath plug wouldn't come out. Phone wouldn't work so we had to ring the reception from our mobile phones. Asked them to send someone to fix it, instead someone came up with clean towels, which we didn't need. We had to leave hotel without all being able to shower as they had to wait for maintenance team to arrive.
Summary
A pleasant quiet hotel in the city. Great !
Summary
I've stayed here before and the last room was much better than the one this time which was a bit cramped and I suspect to shower drain may have been plumbed into the toilet drain as there was an occasional unwelcome 'perfume' in the toilet. That said the hotel is spotlessly clean and is still very good value.
Summary
Friend and I stayed two nights in October for the annual NFL game.
Chose the hotel because of the cost and how close it was to a tube station/central London/Wembley line.
We found the reception staff to be really quite rude and short with us for no reason. Of the three times we went to reception (check in, enquire about breakfast, check out) we had to wait at least 30mins before being attended to. We would be told "I'll be with you in a minute" before disappearing for twenty minutes. They seemed to be in so much of a flap with foreign guests that anyone else waiting was a burden.
Checking in could do with being simplified and a luggage room would be helpful, though they did graciously take in an oversized present I was lugging around as the Paddington Station luggage check no doubt wouldn't have taken it in.
The room was decent, three beds when requested a twin so that was nice surprise. However the TV reception was ridiculous. Use a mobile, and the reception went. Cleaner turns on a hoover, reception went. Even with no mobile usage or hoovering, the reception was hardly better. Also, the shower was luke-warm and sink faucets not properly attached.
Overall, very disappointed. We've stayed in cheaper, more centrally located hotels before and had a much better stay.
Fit for puropose if on a short stay for business. Staff friendly, room okay. Good value for location.
Summary
I came to stay in late September - the weather outside was not that warm, but by basement room (B 03) was like a furnace. Clearly a problem suffered by other visitors as there were two portable electric fans in the room. I opened the two full height doors which open to a courtyard but despite this the room temperature was probably over 30 degrees all night - certainly no need for any bed covers. The heating was off but the wall in the bathroom felt hot - is the room next to a boiler? I imagine on hot days in the summer the room would be unbearable.
The guttering leaked, which meant there was a torrent of water landing on the floor outside the room (good old London rain) - the doors were open and the water splashed in to the room - but due to the heat I had to leave them open! The noise was like sleeping under a waterfall. At least this drowned out the noise of the lift motor which must have been just outside my room - every time the lift worked I got the motor noise. So boiler one side of the room and noisy lift motor the other.
Breakfast - £10 for a superior continental - but with nothing superior about it. Bread roll, toast, jam, 2 pieces of processed ham and a couple of slices of processed cheese. A few cereals and a hard boiled egg.
The room was spotless. The bed was fine (double bed and a single bed next to it). A good sized bathroom containing a bath/shower. Service seemed friendly. Very near Paddington and Lancaster Gate stations (both under 5 mins walk). 20 mins by central line to Bank Station and much less to the West End.
If you stay upstairs and eat breakfast in one of the many cafe's near by (Full English for £5) - then the hotel would actually be fine. I will stay again but not in a basement room unless it is really cold outside (depths of winter) and I have my ear plugs!
My friend and I along with our small children were visiting London just for one night for the theatre. We chose to stay at this hotel due to a recommendation from another friend. My double room (g04) was small but adequate-luckily we are not big people as the sink in the bathroom is almost hanging over the toilet seat, if I was any broader shouldered I would not have been able to sit on the seat!!!!!!!!! However as I say, it was adequate for me and my little girl. We were very tired and tried to get to sleep at 10.30 but soon realised there was a very heavy door right next to ours which was not on a slow shut hinge and slammed whenever anyone went through it, literally making the bed shake. This happened approximately 30 times during the night!!!! If that wasn't enough, the two evening members of staff did not seem to realise people were sleeping and at 1am I had had enough of their shouting to one another along the corridor and laughing and joking and went to ask them to keep it down a bit, and to try to close the door a bit more quietly. This they did for the next hour. My daughter and I were then woken again about 2am by loud staff members outside our door and the stupid slamming door again! By 5am we had given up on sleep and had about 2 hours total sleep tops and I had one very distressed child and I was shattered and not looking forward to the 200 mile journey in front of me. I mentioned it to the day time staff who told me to email the manager which I did. No reply as yet.
Summary
It was a last minute emergency booking and was one of the cheaper 3 star hotels available that day. It wasn't bad bad but wasn't great. The 'double' room was split in to a weird single bed downstairs which felt like a hallway with v noisy stairs to a mezzanine with a double bed. Window was on lower level so top level was very hot. Had builder crashing around around in room next door constantly from 8am onwards with no apology and they were at my door at 11.02 to see why I hadn't checked out (I was just finishing an email). Not horrendous but not great.
Summary
I arrived early in London and the hotel refused to store my case as it is against their security policy. I have traveled all over the world in all types of hotels and they have all had left luggage facilities. It cost me £17 to leave my bag at Paddington Station the day of arrival and day of check out.
The room was clean - but very small for a double, there was just enough space for the bed. There was no air conditioning or even a fan in the room.

Summary
I tried to hand in my luggage a small case at reception when | arrived at 10.30am as i had many meetings to go to and didnt want to carry my heavy luggage with me but they could not accept my luggage and the only way i could leave it at the hotel was to accept a tiny room (509) which was the size of a small broom cupboard yet still pay the £94.00 the price of the orignal booking.
Summary
Even thought this is a budget hotel, I cannot believe that they do not offer the facility to leave a suitcase for a few hours. Instead they sent me to Paddington railway station - where it costs £8 a day. Also, single rooms are on the front of the hotel, where there doesn't appear to be any double glazing, so not suitable for light sleepes.
Summary
To shut the curtains I had to climb over the bed as ther was not enough room to walk around it. The bed touched the desk making it unusable. The shower was great but the door opened with little room between the basin and door, 2 tiles wide.
Summary
Best thing about this hotel was the shower - newly refurbished, smart and plenty of water.
Not a good start - booked a double room with laterooms and on arrival told only singles available. Asked for refund to single rate - surly staff, told to discuss with manager in the morning - eventually given 'double' room in basement. Room was pokey and so small you could not walk round the bed. Very noisy from constant tube trains.
Best of all, when I got up the next day noticed smoke detector was taped up with masking tape. Thank god there was no fire in the night. I thought hotels like this were all shut down now.
No plug in toilet sink, shower water spraying all over place, Why don't London hotels clean shower heads of limescale? (it's not that difficult a job) limited milk in complimentry tea/coffee tray. TV picture was in need of retuning and I could not find the dials on the tele to do it myself.
Summary
Checking in was fairly easy. The hotel had not charged my card prior to my check-in, so there was a bit of confusion about that, but it was quickly sorted once it was explained that they charge separately for each day's stay.
The room was very clean and although rather small the space was well used. A very nice showerhead in the shower.
My elderly father and I were travelling together and when I made my reservation on-line (with LateRooms.com) I requested a ground floor room so he did not have to climb stairs. They did give him a ground floor room, which he was very happy with.
If you are looking for a place to just drop your stuff while you go out sightseeing and for a place to sleep at night, this is a good value.
The room was a bit warm (but extra heat is needed in England), and the beds were a bit hard. Otherwise, I would definitely return.
Genuinely close to Paddington Railway Station - literally 2-3 mins.....great for catching early morning train. Hotel was great value for money and did the job I asked of it. I was on third floor at front of building right on Craven Road.....might be a little noisy for some but I did not think it caused me any issue.
Summary
Room was clean and well decorated though rather small with not much furniture for a long stay, but perfectly adequate for a short break. The curtains were too small for the size of window so letting in light which disturbs the sleep of someone like me, though it wouldn't bother others.
Bed was comfortable and the size (6ft) very welcome.
Room was excellent value at the late rate but I'd expect something bigger for the full rate.
Myself and my girlfriend went to the royal eagle for 3 nights, we were very impressed by the quality of the lobby and reception but I'm not surprised they can afford to do that considering the prices of the drinks at the bar, the lift to our floor was about big enough if my girlfriend wasn't in there with me. The room told the same story as the elevator and we wernt impressed, single glazing in January meant the room had managed to form icicles on the end of our noses and we required extra bedding to thaw ourselves out! Luckily I could have a nice hot shower with the room toiletrys to warm up, oh hang about they wernt replaced from the previous day, to wrap this up ide definitly suggest checking out the room before buying it!
Summary
Single rooms were just wideenough for a single bed, but very noisy being on the front of the hotel. Not much tea & coffee in the room although the room was clean. Reception staff were curt and to the point.
Summary
Room set up very strange with single bed very hard downstairs and double also very hard, on a mezzanine. the double bed had a pillar in fron of it. The room was extremely hot and the hotel staff did not know how to turn the radiator off. There was no thermostat. several stairs to negotiate from the lift. Room was cheap at £46.
Summary
The rooms are very small and do get hot but overall a good hotel
Summary
I lked the hotel as is in a good aera, easy to get the tube and buses, plus the room was clean, and the breakfasf was really nice and rich of food...the breakfast staff was really nice.
Just didnt like when i got the in the evening the staff (man) who got my details wasn't so nice but in the end all was sorted and the rest is what counts...i liked the hotel, the room and the breakfast, i recommend it and i would be back again.
This hotel could not be better placed, literally a 3 min walk from Paddington. The room was larger than expected, and spotlessly clean. Plus we found it quiet and perfect for our needs! The only negatives would be that you couldn't leave your luggage until the room was ready at 2pm and the temperature. It was soooo hot, and despite how cold it was outside I found the heat quite uncomfortable to sleep in. However, if the temp was sorted I would not hesitate to return!!
Summary
Outside this hotel could compare with the Hilton which is a couple of doors further down the road. I do not know what the Hilton is like inside but this establishment is an acceptable, recommendable place which is within easy walking distance from Paddington Station. It is by no means perfect but at the price I paid for one night via LateRooms I was pleasantly surprised. Room was clean (with none of the dreaded pubic shrubbery) with drinks facility, teletext telly, ensuite, towels provided and complimentary toiletries. There is an occasional rumble of the underground but not too bad at that (and I doubt whether even the Hilton can muffle all that out; patrons of that site please let me know). The staff were nice, friendly and helpful. The best recommendation I can give is that I would stay here again. I even had a nice view looking out onto the High Street.
