We needed a cheap hotel for one night...
We needed a cheap hotel for one night. Absolutely fine for one night only. Very handy for Paddington Tube. Rather a hot night and had window open so room was very noisy. Old hotel so lots of creaks!

There should be a law against such low...
There should be a law against such low level premises operating as a hotel. Worn carpet, poor ventilation & dirty showers.

Having never stayed in a central London hotel...
'Having never stayed in a central London hotel my expectations of 3 star 110 a night accommodation may be skewed however my comments are as follows;<br />The common corridor was visibly dirty and felt shabby.<br />A recessed light fitting was hanging from the ceiling on route to the room and posed a hazard which had to be avoided.<br />The room itself (#422) was approx 9 sqm (if that) and the bathroom had a toilet too close to the wall.<br />The maids created an incredible amount of noise cleaning other rooms early in the morning so much so that my wife and myself had no choice but to get up. This may be a product of the limited acoustic separation between the room and the common corridor.<br />I would not consider this 3 star accommodation.<br />On the positive side, the reception staff were very friendly and from the fire evacuation plan on the back of the door, our room appeared to be the smallest on the floor. The location was also great for Hyde Park and Notting hill and the proximity to Paddington was very convienent to travel further afield.<br />Given the option, I would not stay there again.

well firstly my girlfriend and I were given...
well...firstly my girlfriend and I were given an occupied single bedroom to stay in...then we were given an occupied 5 bedded room with 1st floor and a balcony. Fortunately the guy who was in the room first wasnt present when we arrived. When we went back to reception they just took his few belongings out of the room and gave the room to us!!!!! totally bizarre...evening staff seemed to be unable to understand english at all...morning staff were alot better..hotel location is fine....balcony fantastic on a beautiful sunny day...damp on ceiling in bedroom...shower fantastic...would go again as would be interesting to see what we got offered next time

Our stay in this hotel was good. The quad room was on two floors which was excellent. The service in the hotel was more than adequate. The reception is manned 24hrs. The hotel is ideally situated. It's about 200m from Paddington station with many pubs, take aways and a 24hr shop within easy reach. <br />I would not hesitate to recommend the hotel if you are looking for a cheap and cheerful stay.

El hotel est situado en una zona cntrica y con transporte pblico muy cercano. Las habitaciones son algo pequeas,pero, al hotel se va slo a dormirno?, todo est muy limpio y el trato del personal es bueno. En general recomendara este hotel, tanto por su localizacin como por el precio(lo normal en londres)

The hotel was very nice staff were pleasant...
The hotel was very nice, staff were pleasant, the breakfast was well presented and clean plenty for you to eat pretty close to the centre and subway and bus connections would definitly stay again.

I booked a single but was accommodated into...
I booked a single but was accommodated into a double, although the bed was relatively small but suited the size of the room it was in. Room 114 only problem was that the small panel radiator didn't give off much heat whilst the shower had to have the mixer up full for the temp to get warm, which meant quite some spill over the top onto the adjacent surfaces, but for the price on a sunday evening it was quite a minor irritation. Its also ideally located close to Paddington station and tube.

The room was nice enough but a little noisy. We could hear people moving around in the room upstairs and occasionally in the corridors. It's a bit of a maze to find the room. We were a couple but were given a family room (not a problem). It consisted of a double bed, then randomly a spiral staircase by the bottom of the bed ,which led up to another room containing 2 more beds. The bathroom was small, but clean & well fitted. The hotel is very close to Paddington station, so very central. <br />For the price the room was a bargain, clean and comfortable. I would stay here again. <br />

We had a third floor room that was excellent. Clean, well laid out. Only thing wanting was a tea tray..there was no kettle oin the room. Breakfast was good, and the dining room clean and quiet. I will definitely be staying again

This hotel is value for money given the location. Everything is basic but the rooms are clean and tidy. OK there is noise from the street but that's Paddington...Would stay here again.

The room was on the top of the underground so we kept on waking up all night because of this. There are no coffee/ tea utilities in the room. Beside that the room was clean and the size was good.

Excelent value for money definitely reccomend this hotel if your looking for some where comfortable to stay without it being to pricy. Good transport links all night buses run from here and tube + rail.

On my arrival, there was noone at reception for 5 minutes. But very friendly and helpful when she arrived.<br />The toilet (room 311) was hard to flush properly, needs attention.<br />The hotel is very well located.

Small dingy room. Getting in the shower is like squeezing into a crack in a wall. Mold in sink, etc. Employees were threatening a strike because their work conditions were terrible.

Very poor. I booked a double room, only to arrive to find only twin rooms were left, I was then pretty much accused of lying regarding my booking. The bar was permanently closed, no drinks making facilities available, the room was tiny with the furniture cluttered - access to wardrobe and visibility of tv completely compromised, bed was like rock, male member of staff walked into my room at 6.30 am ......... please just dont go there.

we were booked in a room on the 5th floor and when i asked the receptionist where the stairs were located because we couldn't use the lift as my husband suffers with claustrphobia, she immediately changed our booking to a room on the ground floor. i was very impressed

The curtains didn't close fully, the floorboards in the public areas were really loud and the fittings were generally substandard. Good proximity to paddington though.

The room was awful, furniture poor quality and poorly maintained, plastering unfinished around lighting on ceiling, plug sockets surrounded with holes in the plastering and seemingly dangerous, curtains dirty, fittings grimey, shower door did not close properly, neither did it fully open. The staff were unhelpful and ignorant. Breakfast was appallingly organised and poor quality. At the time of our short visit the there were buliding works ongoing, directly outside our room and audible through the gap at the bottom of the door. Every couple of minutes the outside noise was broken by the din of passing trains. The window of the room was thin and in any event cracked. Generally I was appalled. The website pictures bear no resemblance to the hotel, except for the reception area. I would most certainly NOT recommend this hotel to anybody and left my comment card to the same effect.

Security very lax, people wandered into the small breakfast room, no one took room numbers and on the second last day my hand bag was stolen from the back of my seat as I had breakfast. No one could tell if there were only guests in the breakfast room or which rooms etc. To add insult to injury the hotel tried to charge me for the phone calls it took to cancel bank cards, mobile phone etc and only after a long, loud and vociferous argument did they cancel the phone charges. The hotel is dusty because of refurbishment and there was a whole day with no hot water - we missed the first act of a concert because it took so long to get water for a shower. I asked to speak to a manager and was informed they would be on duty from 9-5 the following day and some one would speak to me about it - I am still waiting. They were the major inconveniences. Minor inconveniences include - no tea or coffe making facilities in the bedrooms, the bar was closed the whole time (posters offering apologies but no explanations - this was not the part of the hotel being refurbished), our room was nicely decorated and had laminated floors but the wardrobe was old & rickety and the bed moved like a hovercraft everytime we tried to get into it. What can I say - not the best experience of my life and that was before my bag was stolen!

good location not far from hyde park, the room had a lovely balcony the room was very unusual with a spiral staircase going up to the sleeping area. the staff were friendly and approachable. the room was far to hot for me though even though it was snowing outside! we had to open the balcony window. the room although nice was quite cramped even though there was only 2 of us and it was for 3 people

The room was large (1 double bed with 2 single beds when we'd only booked a double) but being on the lower ground floor the tube trains passing below every few minutes were rather noisy but we both managed to sleep through it ok. The bar wasnt open on the evening and no tea and coffee facilities in the room but the free london map with discount vouchers for the attractions was much appreciated. We would recommend this hotel and we would stay here again.

The hotel site is easy to reach. The environment is good and the room is quite clean. However, it will be better if a kettle is provided to boil water. Visitors are not used to drink tap water. Hot water is important for many people, especially Chinese.

No plug in basin. When complained got totally indifferent response. Had to make a fuss to get a plug removed from another room and then it didn't fit!! Probably not a bad hotel if the staff showed any interest in the customers.

the hotel was very easy to reach from paddington station, about 5 minutes walk. good reception service. room was clean but a little sparce (not much decoration) had problem with in room safe but left laptop at reception. wireless internet was easy to log in and pay online, but the connection wasnt very strong, had to do a bit of moving around the room.<br />other than the connection we were happy with the hotel, didint really try out any facilities. would use again if in paddington area

I am sorry to have to make this...
I am sorry to have to make this complaint. This has to be the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The room we were given was so small, we could not stand up together. However, it was London, the hotel was cheap and we decided to accept it because it was clean and the staff were fairly friendly.<br />On the Monday night of our stay we got no sleep until 5.00am. We, together with other guests, were kept awake by the behaviour of a large group of people who ran around the whole night banging doors and generally being a nuisance; I was not able to get hold of a night porter if one existed; the emergency number I called was not answered...in the end I was forced to call the police. Tired and weary,our next day in London was ruined as a result of this. I was embarrassed as the other foreign isitors on our floor were very upset, I cannot imagine they will want to return to London. My husband related the event to the Manager in the morning; she arranged another room for us and we duly had to carry all our bags to that, we then at least had a good nights sleep. Just before our departure we went to pick up our bags from the luggage area and found that water was coming throughthe ceiling via the light. I pointed this out to the staff who shrugged their shoulders and said it was a problem...very dangerous in my opinion. it has put me off booking through Late Rooms.com now.

The hotel was ok. The only thing that put me and my partner off was the bathroom was not very clean there was scum on the taps and tiles from where they have not been cleaned properly. The breakfast that was included was continental, this was not stated at time of booking.
