Simple but clean and nice

I got an update to Bedsit with separate kitchen on the third floor. Very clean and comfortable. As on the frontside unfortunately very loud because of the traffic, also when you have your windows closed. I have been the fifth time in this hotel, mostly at the rear side. Try to get a room at the rear side,

Noisy from street, but it is London and we expected it,so not a problem. Nice en-suite with bath which was nice suprise.
However, bed was uncomfortable as was the sofa. However, not in room much so ok. Also quite spacious which was unexpected in London.

Good location, cheap, but faded and a bit grubby

Stayed here for one night for 65pounds. Staff voluntarily upgraded me to a family apartment! Great location for west end and Hyde park. Hotel is ok. Decor is a bit faded 80s, could use a lick of paint, but it was clean with fresh towels etc. Bed was comfortable. Wouldn't take a hot date here, but will certainly use it again for quick trips to the capital and will recommend to friends.

Nothing special but cheap and cheerful

The hotel itself is clean and tidy and is situated in a good location. The rooms are very basic and slightly worn, my wardrobe door was missing and the electric heater didnt work. The bed was comfy and i had a good nights sleep. The shower was not very powerful and the door didnt close propely, however it was clean.

Made our staying nice and easy

The bathroom is lovely. The staff is very helpful and friendly. It is also quite central and it is possible to get pretty much everywhere in London for around £13. We could have easily staid longer if it was not for having to go back to work.

Studio room slept 2

Stayed for one night, room was modern and great for the price. Great location, easy to get to tourist attractions by tube and bus. The reception was nice and modern although the hallways need modernizing and began worrying us. Really surprised by the room! Only thing didn't like was we had to give our room key to reception when going out the apartments.

Not worth full price

I stayed in Royal Court Apartments with my friend in a twin suite. The room itself was well equipped - kitchenette with cutlery, crockery, hob and microwave and comfortable seating area and the room was comfortable. However, it was quite shabby and had seen better days. The place looked quite tired, although it was clean, and in need of some attention. The bathroom was really nice and well tiled, but the shower head was basic and hanging out of the wall on one raw plug. Definitely in need of a make over.
The corridor had some bags of laundry lying around from housekeeping, and first thing in the morning we had to climb out of the lift over a pile of toilet cysterns and building equipment.
However, the staff at reception were friendly and helpful.
A big issue to be aware of is that there are No local shops to buy food so be prepared for quite a trek before you can make a snack in the kitchenette! We ended up walking for 30 minutes until we got to Bayswater before we found some a Tesco Metro and a Sainsburys - there are no local newsagents or convenience stores any closer than that as it is just a residential area. We ended up coming back on the Underground (two stops) back to Lancaster Gate as we didn't have the energy to walk all the way back!!
All in all, it was an ok room for £80 and geographically perfect for Kensington Gardens which was only a few minutes walk away, but definitely Not worth the full amount that it should have cost.

Good value but noisy

I had a huge room/studio apartment which was well appointed and comfortable. The rack rate was something ludcrious like £300 a night - but I got it for £75, great value and would have accomodated a family of four. The downside was the noise - no aircon and a hot night, so the windows stayed open until I could put up with it no longer. Even with the windows closed it was less than peaceful. Ideal if you can get it well discounted and are taking the kids to London, or if you have good earplugs.

Great self catering accomodation in a great location

The staff were really friendly and helpful to the extent that even though we arrived 3hours earlier than the advertised check-in time they were more than happy to store our luggage (of which we had quite a bit!)
We had booked a studio apartment which was much larger than we thought it might be and had good facilities. Just one warning - there is no oven or grill in the kitchen but there is a toaster and microwave.
Great location as the nearest tube station is only a two minute walk away and Hyde Park is just across the road. We would definitely recommend this place if you are after competitively priced self-catering accommodation within easy reach of Central London.

Location near Lancaster Gate tube. On bus route to Oxford St. or Notting Hill, opposite Hyde Park..
Reception area fine but hotel needs refurbishment.
Rooms small, seperate bedrooom and kitchen. Bathroom awkward (no bath plug). Very hot, no ac, couldn't open window.
Went on Sunday night only so "cheap" deal £49. Price on other nights £200. Not worth more than £49 - use Travelodge. Wouldn't stay again unless desperate.

What is that smell?

On entering the room my partner and i were greeted wit a horrible smell of sewage. We assumed if emanated from the toilet/bathroom so we shut that door immediately. We went into the room around 2am and The room was very warm and there was no air conditioning or fan. The windows external sides were covered in dust and looked like they hadn't been cleaned for a few years. Considering i was getting a whole apartment for 80 on a Friday evening and it's location was very accessible, it was reasonable value for money

All very well except for the socks!

Very pleasant receptionist. The room I booked was a double but they gave us a single. We were too tired to complain so we just left it. The next morning we noticed that there were two dirty socks covering both the smoke detectors in the room.
Apart from those two minor things it seemed like a nice hotel.

For the money, location and room itself, very good!

Was a bit nervous arriving at a hotel just west of central London that did rooms for £80 a night, however this is a great little hotel.
Obviously you are not paying for lavish luxuries here, but the room was clean, not too cramped, and we could not find anything wrong with it. We only stayed for one night but could happily stay for a week or so. Friendly staff on reception, great location, probably the best place in London if you are on a budget. I have stayed in hotels that are shocking bad in comparison for much more than £80 a night. Would highly recommend.

Comfortable and practical choice

The Royal Court Apartments are conveniently located with Paddington or Lancaster Gate tube only a 3-5 min walk away. There are plenty of restaurants around to try out but if you are there on business and just fancy putting your feet up in front of the TV with a shove-in the microwave dinner, having a kitchen is ideal. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Rooms at the front are a little noisy if its hot and you need to open the window

Ask for a refurbished room.

We stayed in a room that hadn't been refurbished for what seemed, some considerable time.
It was fine for what we needed (a place to sleep and shower) but it wasn't a room we could of sat and relaxed in really. The bed was comfy, tea and coffee making facilities were fine, it was quiet too (but quite busy outside - cars, trucks etc through the night) and the room was Very warm but we were thankful that we could fully open the windows to let some relatively cool air in!
The room is in desperate need of updating, all through. The shower was good, towels were replenished daily. Good location (for Hyde Park etc)
We would stay there again, but would definately not want to be in that room again. Carpet was in need of replacing, dated furnishing and creaky floors, but we got what we paid for, staff were very nice and it's a great base for exploring. We walked to Maddamme Tussauds within about 45 minutes and ten mins to Hyde Park/Kensington Gardens.
So, advice would be, great budget place to sleep and shower and a good base to explore from.

Hot & noisy

I was mislead by a customer review that said 'peaceful'! My room was at the front, on Gloucester Terrace, and there is constant traffic noise, so I had to have window shut on a stifling night. And still you hear the traffic. I did ask for a room at the back, but none available.
It's a bit shabby, bathroom a bit smelly, but useful mini-kitchen in room, and charming staff.

Good Location

Wanted accommodation close to Hyde Park as we were attending a concert there. Searched on late rooms and found this accommodation for a very good price. Requested a twin bedded studio apartment but when we checked in we were given a one bedroom apartment with double bed and a camp bed in the lounge. I asked at reception if they had a twin bedded room available and we were offered a twin bedded one bedroom apartment which was quite spacious with a recently refurbished bathroom. Our apartment was located on the fourth floor so we did not hear the traffic noise below, however as this is an old building we did notice that that our floor and the floor above us did have squeaky floorboards so could disturb other guests. But overall for the price we paid and the location (3 minutes walk from Lancaster Gate tube station) we were pleased and would probably use these apartments again when in London.

Clean and modern, but very compact, accommodation - very close to Hyde Park entrance (went to a gig there). I'd stay here again for another gig but not for a 'relaxing break'. Price was cheaper via Laterooms but very expensive at normal rates; although this is central London so what do you expect?! Had to order a pizza from a local takeaway and use glasses from our room in the bar when we ordered drinks (odd?!).
