Castle wardrobes and secretaires, vast oak beds with ornately carved gothic headboards, Victorian commodes, inlaid tables and original oak panelling have all been restored in these rooms which were once home to a magistrate, an architect, a surgeon and a master baker to name a few of the original inhabitants. You can sense the abience of Georgian London as you push open the hand carved front door. Guests are looked after by helpful, intelligent staff. Rooms have space to work or relax. Communications are state of the art. And....the croissants are baked fresh on the premises each morning (sadly not on the period kitchen range, which still exists below stairs).
