We chose this hotel for its good location and the extensive positive reviews on the internet . As I was travelling with my mum, a good location is important to us . We were upgraded to a superior room upon checking in ( which was a nice surprise). The staff at the reception counter is pleasant. We enjoyed the breakfast at the hotel- simple western food ( the usual eggs, sausage etc- but tasty) . The neighbourhood is quiet and pleasant and the walk to the tube station just 5 mins away. Apart from the tube, it is also v easy to catch the bus to many locations (such as Notting Hill) which is located just outside the hotel. The Big Bus tour company also stops at the bus stop outside and the hotel is also one of the centrally located ones which tour companies pick up their guests from. You can sign up for various sightseeing tours at the hotel concierge itself.
Overall, we had an enjoyable stay - just one glitch - the hotel housekeeping forgot to clear the trash one day and we returned to the room surprised to find the bag of trash by our bedside.
Restaurants - try the delicious italian place next to the hotel, and also the waffle place (to the left of hotel, near the tube station ).
I have stayed here several times before and like it very much. I thought the room was a little less "superior" this year than before, with small things like wear and tear and worn decoration etc noticeable but overall I am still very happy with the hotel, its facilities and service. The breakfast and the environment in which it is served is very good. the location is also a big bonus as it is an area in which you feel perfectly comfortable going out at night to eat and to walk around, not to mention the V&A being directly opposite.

The first thing to greet us was the news that we had been upgraded. This got every thing off to a good start. Then, when we told reception that this was the first time we had been to the Rembrandt since 1967 when I proposed to my wife at the hotel during a student ball, ; we were treated like family
One incident that summed up the excellent quality of the staff:
At about midnight my wife cut her finger in our room. We had no sticking plaster to put on it. I rang reception to ask if they had any plasters. Within one minute there was a knock on the door and a man had 3 plasters to give us.
An excellent hotel with excellent staff

The room seemed tired and in need of some modernisation. It was adequate for what I needed but not as good as I had been led to believe from other's feedback on Laterooms. Maybe others have stayed in more modernised rooms than the one I had. The menu in the restaurant was quite limited and there was no menu in the room for room service. Some of the corridors had a strong smell of smoke. Not the best hotel I've stayed in. Although it was a last minute booking, the hotel was very quiet I would have hoped for a better room than the one I had. I would stay here again if I knew I was staying in a better room than the one I had.

No complaints, really. Just what I was looking for, and expected. The room was a bit cramped, but provided everything I needed, at a great location, and a great price. One night (Friday), the group in the next room were loud, late at night; thoughtless of them, not the hotel's fault.

This has to be one of the best hotel stays we have had in London. As it was a special occasion, we did book an executive room, but the standard was excellent - spotless, spacious and well furnished (huge bed!). Spa bath was fun (instructions for use could have been a little clearer!). The only surprise was the lack of a guest brochure in the room detailing breakfast times, etc. It was not really clear, either from the Laterooms site or the hotel, that breakfast (which was good) was included in the room price (not very common for London hotels in our experience).

We decided on a late getaway in London for the weekend and had trouble finding a hotel that had room available. We found this hotel through Laterooms and where delighted with both the location (so close to everything) and the standard for such a good price.
Closest station is South Kensington and there are lots of fantastic restaurants to the rear of the hotel towards Kings road rather than the tourist places on the main road.
The staff where al very friendly and the room, albiet could do with some minor upgrading, was comfortable and clean. It was also very quite with no noise during the night.
We would certainly stay here again and book it through Laterooms.

The hotel is well placed for shopping and visiting kinghtebridge and sloane avenue restaurants. the recepption and bar are very nice. I was offered an upgraded room however my view faced onto scaffolding. The rooms are nice but are in need of some upgrading. The bathroom looked well used. I place the beakfast in the room outside of my door at 1am and found that they had not taken this when my alarm woke me. The restuarnat where breakfast was served was pleasant. However I had to wait 10 minutes to be served coffee and waited a 5 minutes for some requested condiments. This hotel would be nice if
a) no scaffolding building works were being carried out;
b) had more staff to attend to the 4 star rating such as room service and the restaurant!
I would possibly stay here again. But I think you can do better for the money elsewhere.

Having stayed in the hotel abround 4 years ago, we were a little disappointed. there were only minor issues but we did not feel that the hotel was operating to the same standard. We had to call reception because the hairdryer was faulty - this was rectified immediately but our spa bath did not work and it was not possible to repair it during our stay. Unfortunately we did not attempt to use it until the second night. As a coincidence the spa in the health club was not working either! However, the food was very good and the staff very pleasant and helpful.

I stayed at The Rembrandt with my young son, on a visit to London to see a West End musical and visit the Museums. The hotle is ideally placed for the Natural History Museum, the science museum and the Victoria asnd Albert museum, all of which we visited and throughly enjoyed. There is a small family friendly swimming pool at the hotel, which is refreshing after a day schleping around museums. The staff are child friendly and our package included a voucher for Hamleys which was a lovely suprise for my son. We look forward to returning to The Rembrandt again.

I am a business consultant who generally spends one night a week in a hotel somewhere. I love the Rembrandt - it is one of my favourite hotels and if, after a day with a client, I have to get into my room and spend a couple hours working on the next day's presentation, this is the place to do it.
When I arrived last week, my room wasn't quite ready - I was taken to the bar, given a complimentary drink and someone came to tell me when it was ready.
Great staff. Highly recommended.

This hotel is in an excellent location right opposite the Victoria & Albert museum and within easy walking distance of South Kensington tube, and so is well located for visiting other sites in central London. The public areas in the hotel have recently been refurbished and are very stylish. Our room was not one of nicely refurbished ones, but was clean and comfortable. Ask for a room at the back of the hotel if likely to be bothered by road noise. Customer service at the front desk was very good (we were able to leave our bags with the concierge all day) but hotel was let down by inattentive staff at breakfast, which is buffet style. Would stay here again.

Stayed for a 2 night break. Lovely hotel 5 mins from Harrods. A taxi to Covent Garden cost around 15. If you are booking theater tickets try to get one with a meal deal on the net before you leave. Our only complaint about this hotel was our room was not ready when we arrived at 2.30 pm, we was offered another twin room, not the double deluxe which we had booked. We decided to go for a walk and wait, but when we came back 2 hours later we were still given the twin room not the double, we didn't have time to complain as we had a taxi booked. Could hardly turn round in the bathroom!! Hotel pipe work half way up the window blocking most of the light. This was supposed to be a superior double!!Reception staff very quickly rectified this for us though. This was our 4th stay at The Rembrandt and we have to say how disappointed we were to see what they have done with the refurbishment. It had such a lovely warm character about it before, now they've gone partly "modern" which doesn't go with the architecture of the building.

Nice bar with an open fire and a really nice health club and pool with a nominal extra charge - not bad for central London! I have booked lots of hotels via laterooms and have never had any problems previously, however, must say what was meant to be a relaxing evening away became quite stressful. I arrived at the hotel at 12'o'clock and understandably the room was not ready therefore was told to come back at 2'o'clock. I arrived back at the hotel at 2.15 and was told the room was still not ready and could I wait another 20-30mins, I sat in the reception area for a futher 20minutes. I then spoke to a more senior receptionist, who advised my double room was still not ready. I had booked a twin room. I was then told sorry we had the wrong details, I finally got into the room at 2.40pm which was a smoking room rather than non-smoking. I then discovered it would cost an additional 15 to swim, which whilst the write up says there maybe a charge the hotel knows the charge so should include this information so why not tell you when you book. After an evening out I was then kept awake from 12pm until 1.30am from the music downstairs and the clearing away of a disco. When I checked-out I then was given a bill for a higher rate, I then had to go through the details and wait whilst a call was made to reservations to correct the error. Rembrandt was a disappointing experience, although a nicely decorated hotel on the ground floor.

Excellent full breakfast buffet! No A/C in our room, but didn't really matter. Short walk to the Tube, which really is important. Several decent restaurants within a short walk. Actually a perfect spot to use as your London headquarters.

This hotel is definately a good deal with the discount offered, but i would never pay a full price for it. Although the location of the hotel is excellent, we expected a better equiped rooms considering that we booked a superior double. There was nothing special about it, plus we had a co-joint door with the room next door. The separate conditioning system turned out to be a fan! I have also didn't notice of any of advertised refurbushment carried out. Although room did not impress me, hotel's lobby is lovely and the restaurant serves fantastic food. Recommended.

Just spent two nights here, and it's as good as anyone could want. Great rooms, equally good facilities and the the staff are extremely efficient and friendly. I've just booked again, and I'll be going back for a week with my wife next year. If you want to enjoy London, this is the perfect place to stay.
