Great hotel, exceeded our expectations, everything was perfect would definitley stay again.

We had a fab weekend, the hotel was excllent from the moment we arrived at reception and nothing was too much trouble, the room was of excellent quality and standard, bed comfortable, it was quiet, easy walking distance of Knightbsbridge and Hyde Park. The breakfast was very good. We will certainly stay again at the hotel.

Modern but poor lighting.

The room was badly lit, not enough lighting to do hair/makeup or if a guy, to do hair, and check appearance. The mirror on the wall was only about 6 inches wide, not really much use. But on the positive side the room was very clean, had no bath, but a great power shower.
but rooms were decorated in a very modern style and looked like they were recently refurbished. Hotel is close to South Kensington tube station, some shops and restaurants. So it's in a good location. Breakfasts was good with a choice of continental or full english.
The lobby and hotel bar and restaurant are decorated in a more traditional style whereas the rooms are very modern. The staff are friendly and helpful and someone took our cases to our room. (for a tip!). But it was a nice choice to have.
Can't really fault the hotel except for the dim lighting. Would recommend as it's a good base and easy to get around from there.

Friendly, Local feel hotel

A lovely little hotel all round. We stayed on New Years Eve (2011 into 2012), so didn't stay in the room much, but the room was very comfortable and value for money booking at such a late date. The front desk staff were very friendly and the check in process was simple enough. The location was fabulous in Kensington, meaning it was central enough for all attractions and the tube (South Kensington) was a 5 minute walk away. My only minor problem that I was not expecting was that as I was paying by Debit Card, opposed to Credit Card, I was charged an extra £50 on booking in. There were no quibbles in getting the refund upon check out the next morning, but having not been made ware of this in advance, I was slightly shocked. But no harm done - I thought I ought to make travellers on a tight budget aware in case this impacted there stay, but a good hotel. We didn't eat at the hotel so cannot comment on the food quality.

Good value, comfortable, clean and modern

We stayed in one of the refurbished rooms with a King Sized bed. It was clean, new, modern and comfortable. The bed especially was very comfortable - memory-foam mattress I think. Reception staff were polite and helpful as were door staff. Our room was internal facing and we had no noise (but also no view of course). It's on a reasonably quiet road (for London), and about a 10 minute brisk walk to Gloucester road or Kensington South tube. This whole area has much more of a small-town feel than other areas of the west-end - considering this was mid December, there were not huge crowds around. Some of the corridors and stairs had yet to be refurbished - we understand some standard rooms are not yet refurbished. The reception area has some comfy sofa's and a nice open fire. We didn't use the bar or restaurant. It's walking distance to Hyde Park, Museums, Royal Albert Hall, Kings Road and Chelsea. No complaints. For us the room and location were the most important factors, and both lived up to our expectations.

Very Central

Although I have only given the Customer service a mark of 4, its hard to access it properly as we hardly saw them or had any reason to. The Hotel is clean, modern bathroom, great shower.
Would stay here again although pricey, great location for the West End and the museums.

Firstly, reception staff really friendly and the concierge, a nicer guy you couldnt meet. He lent my husband his tie, he forget his, no ruprise there, and we were rushing to a wedding. He also went into the street and around the side of the hoel to fins us a cab - top marks!
Room we stayed in had been newly refurbed. Small rooms but tastefully done, comfy bed and lovely shower room, nice flat screen TV's. View from the room of a wall, so not very picturesque but we were hungover, so not an issue :) The rooms are a bit of a rabbit warren, but again the hallways to the rooms are all newly refurbed, so nice. Cant comment on the food, we didnt eat there. For central London, great value for money. Would definitely stay again. And thanks again to Mr. Concierge!

Two happy customers

My daughter and I enjoyed our stay at the Regency, the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The room was comfortable and very clean, however I did find that the noise from the heating duct outside of our bedroom window was slightly annoying. (my daughter didn't hear a thing!)
We would certainly stay there again if we had occasion to stay overnight in London as the hotel is in a very convenient location and we felt very safe walking back on our own after a night at the Royal Albert Hall.

Regency hotel

This is a large tired hotel in a good location. Although the rooms have been upgraded and refurbished, they cannot disguise the age of the place and the sprawling layout of the building. The corridors are narrow , rambling and poorly lit. The lift does not go to the second floor so dont take heavy luggage if you are staying on this level as you will have to drag it up stairs and round corners. My room was clean and spacious but had a long dark corridor to the bathroom and the lighting was terrible. (I couldnt see my clothes in the wardrobe!) I could hear someones elses Tv all night but my bed was comfortable and even though the room was at the rear of the building, it had a pleasant view. The restaurant had a good breakfast buffet and the reception staff were pleasant and helpful. The location of the Regency redeems it as it is in the centre of South Kensington, 3 mins walk form the tube and has good restaurants and coffee bars nearby. It is close to Chelasea and Knightsbridge. I wasnt impresed by the price of the room once i viewed it however. Even on a late deal it didnt refelect the quality but then that's London! I needed a room close to Chelsea at short notice and it fitted the bill (at a price).

Regency Generally

Really nice mid - high quality hotel with very helpful staff throughout. Room though a small suite was perfect for us and the food was priced to keep us in the hotel, both breakfast and dinner really quite good and well priced. All staff very keen to help us at all times .London is expensive at all times and £250 per night seemed high but was worth it. At busy times (eg this one during the Chelsea Flower show) can be difficult to get taxi and tube 7 minutes away ( maybe in rain). Despite this, the concierge and team make every effort on neraby corner and by phone so not a real problem.

Saturday Night Stay at The Regency Hotel

Overall this hotel was very nice, lovely period building, exceptionally clean and well presented in the public areas and in our room. The hotel is in a great location in South Kensington, very close to the tube station. The staff were very friendly & helpful. The room itself was fairly small - I would have liked the twin beds to be further apart, they were touching each other. My one big problem with my stay was the fact there was some sort of air conditioning unit on the roof right outside our window which was very noisy. I resorted to wearing ear plugs to be able to get to sleep. I think we were just unlucky that this is the room we were given (Room 326).

My daughter and I stayed at the Regency for four nights and found it to be very comfortable, convenient and all the staff very friendly especially the front desk and concierge who were always happy to help out with all our queries.
Breakfast was not complimentary for our last day, and we found the cost of breakfast expensive.

WHY WAKE US UP SOOO EARLY

Having stayed here on a few occasions before and the situation with the cleaners in the morning still has not improved. Lovely hotel, in a very good position HOWEVER... when you stay here on a Saturday night because you are going out ... you do want to have a bit of a lay in on the Sunday morning ..... impossible with this hotel... cleaning commences 8.30 am and even if you leave the light on to say do not disturb you still get the knocking at the door you still get cleaning in other rooms door open and conversations going ten to the dozen with other cleaners even when i got up to complain i was told "sorry my friend but we are here for only certain hours and have to clean the rooms before we go...i even heard the man next door shouting out i have told you 3 times to go away , this is with the knocking on the door to his room as well. There is no tag to put on the outside of the door that we are all use to so he must have not put his light on.... WE DID... and even after i had complained in the hall they still knocked. I did complain to the manager who gave me his card to make a formal complaint.. BUT HEY ... IF YOUR AN EARLY RISER ON SUNDAYS .... cant think of a better place to stay

Nice place if the price is right

Stayed here fr just one night. Friendly staff, clean room, but absolutely rubbish view. December seems an expensive month, and having stayed in Town so often, felt the room-only rate was far too high. Nevertheless, it's the norm, and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if a decent deal was available. Free parking outside after 1:30pm was a real plus.

Beautiful period hotel in the heart of London.

Period London hotel in a charming and grand Regency style terrace, typical of Royal London. Great location for Knightsbridge and Harrods. Close to Uderground and buses. We were met at door by charming uniformed doorman who brought the luggage to the room. Delightful receptionist explained everything clearly. Classic decor and a dining room with high ceilings and chandeliers. The bedrooms in contrast are modern and with all the usual facilites you would expect. En-suite shower room and bedroom very clean and bed dressed with crisp white linen. Aircon operation not that easy to understand, so some written instructions would be beneficial. Onward transport organised and information for virtually anything about London offered by the reception staff. Small well-run hotel to which I would return without hesitation.

Have stayed here many times..... I have stayed in the upgraded club standard and also the normal standard and each time my partner and I have been well looked after. There is everything that you require for your stay.... my only negative comment would be if like me you wanted a lie in there is a particular room (i think it is 422 but not hundered percent sure) that is above where the truck comes very early in the morning to collect the empty bottles from the hotel.... not pleasant if you want a lie in......

The room was a good sized, no frills just basic stuff.. No mini bars though. The bad part was the bathroom was small and low water pressure.. It takes 6-8 times to flush the toilet adequately! The air conditioning was perfect as you can manipulate it in your own room. Anyways, the best part - amazing concierge and helpful staff!
