What a wonderful weekend We arrived late afternoon...
What a wonderful weekend. We arrived late afternoon and there were still plenty of car parking spaces so we were able to park the car for free during our stay which is always a bonus in London. Upon our arrival to our surprise and pleasure we were immediately upgraded free of charge to a suite, it was truely superb. The lounge area had floor to ceiling windows with a panoramic view of the Thames and O2 and to make the ambiance complete the weather was divine. The room was very clean, spacious and quiet! Couldn't have asked for more. Even when we experienced a little difficulty with the safe, it had forgotten our code and we couldn't gain entry, the hotel maintenance arrived immediately and swiftly resolved the problem. During breakfast the next morning we arrived quite late as we were told it would be served until 11.30, however they were having some maintenance done and had to close at 11.00 never the less the staff were still very accommodating and arranged for some extra food for us as there was little left and they even let us eat outside as the weather was so beautiful even though they said they do not normally allow it because of fly problems. Would definately recommend, everyone extremely friendly and helpful and it all contributed to us having a perfect weekend escape. The location is ideal for O2 and you can catch the light railway just up the road which connects you to the tube network. Hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did.

We booked this hotel as it was close to the O2 and we were supposed to be going to a concert there but got let down on the tickets the day before. Instead we booked a West End show at the last minute and were a bit concerned that under the circumstances the hotel was a long way away from where we were now going! No problem though as there are very good, easy rail links to central London and we were in the West End within 45 minutes. The hotel was very clean and modern and had a good location right on the Thames even if the area is a bit 'industrial' and still undergoing re-generation. A good stop-over hotel for a night or two if visiting London and great value for money as we got a half-price offer and then found when we checked in that we had been upgraded to a suite free of charge! A hotel nearer the city would have cost the earth for the same level of comfort so I would recommend this hotel to anyone as an economical 'base' for a city visit.

We decided to book a suite in this hotel as we were away for the weekend with the family and it was the most cost effective way of doing it.There was a sofa bed for the children which was quite comfortable but not suitable for more than a couple of nights. The fact there was a small kitchen area with fridge was a bonus.I certainly would not pay full price for this but at £130 a night for 4 of us it was a good last minute solution. To be wary of the restaurant as the service is really quite slow even when not overly busy and the food is ok but quite expensive for what it is. The desserts were appalling and obviously pre-bought. My small square of Tiramisu cost £6.50, had the most revolting taste (certainly not coffee!) and you could bounce your spoon of the mascarpone custard it was so firm. My husband had a bread and butter pudding which again was awful. We did complain and we were refunded, to their credit they removed the Tiramisu from the menu ( I fear ours was not the first complaint!)Overall it suited our requirements which was to be near the Excel Centre so no major complaints.

We arrived early and even though check in time was at 1400hrs, we were pleased when the staff allocated us another room. Very convenient as we would not have checked in until after 1800hrs otherwise. The only downside to our accommodation was the location. We were visiting the O2 arena and chose the hotel because of it's distance to and from the venue. It was a little disappointing to find that O2 was not within walking distnce (1.5 miles), however, it did not stop us from having a great time. There was parking at reasonable rates.

We were visiting London with our 7 year old daughter. Although a double room with a sofa-bed seemed a good option, once our daughter went to bed we could not watch TV, chat or read very effectively as all but a very small bedside light had to be off. I did go down to the bar on a couple of evenings as my wife was happy to turn in early. The bar is very comfortable and there is always someone to talk to if you are on your own.It would be worth paying the extra for a small suite if you have young children and want to stay up later.Children do not pay for breakfast, which was a good thing as two full English breakfasts were £25.00. We did not eat in the restaurant as the menu did not appear very child friendly. It is a bit far from the centre of London, about an hour from Prince Albert (DLR) to South Kensington station. My daughter saw the train as part of the adventure, so it was not too bad. A quick tip if you want very cheap Chinese food for all the family. Try the Wong Kei, Wardour Street, London, W1D 6PY. It looks pretty shabby, but check out the amount of Chinese faces in there, they know best! I hadn't been for 15 years but it was just as good. We stuffed ourselves for less than £30 on three evenings, and that was with beer and coke too.

We stayed for 2 nights during the Easter holidays, access into the City was easy, Docklands Light Railway less than 5 minutes walk. We booked a Family Suite, which gave an extra room for our daughter, there was also a small kitchenette area, with fridge, microwave and tea & coffee making facilities. Overall excellent hotel, we would use again.

Satisfactory accomodation for discount price paid and based on only one nights stay, but would have been unhappy to pay undiscounted amount due to general poor quality of suite, which generally needed redecoration (part of ceiling falling down, toilet door didn't lock, one light not working, etc).Outside of room the rest of the hotel looked very nice and breakfast was excellent!

Excellent hotel with good room and facilities. The room I had was clean and well maintained and a good size. Room had coffee/tea and also an iron which is extremely useful on business trips. Bathroom was good and an excellent shower. The only problem I had was the pillows which are very firm and a bit on the large size. The rooms have broadband access by cable only. Note that the wifi is only in the bar area although surfing with a beer is not a bad idea! Food was good in both the bar and restaurant. Would stay there again.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights with breakfast on both mornings and dinner on the first evening. The hotel is extremely easy to access by car from the M11. Parking is a little restricted. We parked in the adjacent pay & display for the first night which was free but found space in the hotel car park after breakfast to avoid the £12 per day fee. We were pleasantly surprised with the suite we were given as the rooms were of very generous proportions, although a little tired. For example, the towel rail didn't work and the ceiling tiles in the hall were loose. There was a well eqipped kitchenette and table with four chairs and we were able to prepare ourselves a snack when we arrived back late on our second evening. Our room looked out onto the Excel building site and the Docklands Light railway, and London Airport was around the corner, although none of this caused us any inconvenience. The hotel is extremely well sound insulated.I would not recommend the restaurant, especially if you have children. The service was poor - the waitress even forgot to ask us what we wanted to drink whilst we waited for our meal. The adult meals were no more than average, the soup was probably from a tin and had probably been microwaved and had a thick skin on the top. The children had pizza which was almost inedible with cardboard bases and plastic cheese. Breakfast was a different matter. We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast on both mornings. The hotel is in a very good location to access central London. The DLR railway is a five minute walk and your there within a few stops. This hotel represents very good value for money for a hotel with spacious suites and easy access to the London attractions. Whilst breakfast was great I would avoid the restaurant for evening meals.

At midnight of our first night stay the air conditioning started making a loud noise as if it was going to blow up, my sales manager and I proceeded to try and switch it off, by half past midnight we managed to stop it we thought until it woke us up again at 1am and from then on everytime we thought we`d solved the problem it waited until we were asleep and then it would start again , by which time we didn`t want to call down to get an engineer as it was in the middle of the night and just kept hoping we had fixed it each time.We ended up getting about 3 hours sleep before a very important event at the Excel the next day which had cost my company thousands of pounds to attend.I explained the situation to reception in the morning and we agreed that we would discuss what to do after the day at Excel. When I got back from the show that day a lady manager came out and arranged for the room to be changed and offered me £14 off the room for getting virtually no sleep, I obviously said that that was not enough but i would discuss it again in the morning as i was exhausted. On checkout the next morning the young male receptionist called Toni said that the money had been taken from my card for the room and when i reminded him that i had been offered an amount off that i wasn`t happy with he told me that I hadn`t been offered anything off and that he there at the time of the conversation and that i was basically not telling the truth.I then had to remind him of what was said and finally he said he would take the £14 off but no more.I asked him(Toni) did he know that there is a problem in that room as it didn`t seem like a surprise to him and was very matter of fact about it and shrugging his shoulders said '' of course Sir,I have stayed in the hotel many times and there are many rooms that are Extremelybad and I could not sleep in them'' ''too noisy''.shocked at his honesty and lack of care about the whole situation I asked him if he was going to get them fixed or was he going to keep sending people to these rooms he just smerked at me and shrugged his shoulders.I said that i would be informing the show organisers about this and unless something is done no-one will be booking for next year and he said'' oh well , the hotel will still be here ,whether they come or not''I also explained that my wife is a venue/ accommodation researcher for several top European companies and accommodates thousands of people each year to hotels and has confirmed that this is inappropriate for a supposed better class Hotel.Toni just replied '' as i say the Hotel will still be here''.It is obvoius that they know and don`t care about certain sub-standard rooms and are just putting (probably the late room customers that have paid less) people in them and hoping they won`t moan and if they do it doesn`t matter as there young arrogant receptionists that they employ will just fob them off anyway.

Super food in Italian restaurant. The room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean and had a great view. The only small drawback was that we could not open the window to obtain some fresh air but were reliant on the airconditioning although I guess it may be a little noisy from the airport with a window open

Room was little more basic than I expected but clean and comfortable enough. Heating is from hot air blower which was either on (noisy) or off (quiet but can get chilly in the night). It is a longish walk from the nearest DLR station to the hotel and you could get very wet on a rainy day.Very handy for City Airport and O2 Arena and you can get good prices on the internet.

Considering the high price for a double room (which, according to the hotel was at a discounted price) I was not impressed. Nothing was complimentary and everything was expensive. At one point, I ordered a small plate of burger and chips which cost TEN POUNDS! The breakfast was continental (cold crappy food). For almost £14 the breakfast should be anything you desire, but nooooo, all I was seeing on the menu was cold bread rolls, honey, jam etc. Needless to say, I won't be coming back!

The hotel is excellent - we had a really good time! It is quite a way out from the main attractions in London but this was all part of the fun for our 4 year old ... i.e. all the train journeys. Also I would rather pay less and stay a bit further out. The fact that the hotel is close to an airport was also exciting for my son. The weekend we were there it was very warm - so it was lovely to go for walks along Docklands. The room was very nice and comfortable and we were not disturbed at night - which I usually find a problem in hotels.Stresa restaurant attached the hotel was also very reasonable and we enjoyed every meal. The staff were friendly ... all in all we had a lovely time - would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to others!
