Summary
This is small quirky hotel which is good value for money.
The front desk and breakfast staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
Bedrooms were clean and functional and the breakfast was of a good standard.
One only area of contention was a door used by staff (in the bar area) which was constantly left to bang shut. This could also be heard in the bedrooms.
I would have no hesitation in using this hotel again
We opted for the full English breakfast, I have stayed in many hotels throughout my time and was somewhat disappointed in the breakfast here. It was of very low quality, and was not value for money as it was not included in the price of the room. I would recommend that you take a trip down to the trendy bars and Cafe which are a short walk from the hotel and have breakfast at your leisure. Very disappointing offering.
Summary
Centrally located to high street. Nice decor and good thick curtains. Creaky corridors. Kettle did work but kept turning itself off. Gardens were closed for winter. Shame they were included in the advertising. Morning reception staff on phone at 11.02 to ask us to vacate room, then cheeky and flippant (with a smile!). Wouldn't go back. Too much for not enough.
Summary
Well appointed and conveniently located, parking on site is a great help. The staff were all courteous and friendly and my room although a little on the small side was comfortable. I enjoyed a well cooked breakfast and will certainly stay here again.
Summary
Stood by an empty reception for ten minutes before finally being given the keys to my grubby little room. Woken by an erroneous fire alarm at 8am and received nothing in the way of apology for the rude awakening. I stayed here purely due to the lack of other options in the area, and thankfully should have no reason to ever go back.
Summary
I have stayed at the Raglan on an annual basis for the last 4 years. I have always found the staff friendly and the accommodation clean. Although, after staying in a single room with single bed the first year I always now book a double room for sole occupancy.
However this was my lucky night as this year I was allocated the honeymoon suite complete with four poster bed, its a shame I was hear on business and my husband was at home with the kids. I have stayed in some nice rooms at the hotel, but very pleased to get this room.
Friendly welcome and knowledgeable staff.
Accomodation was fine staff helpful when internet problem happened.
All in all it did what it said.
Very convenient, quiet, restful and accommodating. Liked being able to not check out til 11 and then having use of wifi on a lounge with free coffee until I was ready to leave. Excellent.
Summary
Only stayed one night while at the Masters snooker. Location was fine, very close to centre of Muswell Hill, and staff were friendly and helpful. But my room, which admittedly was larger than I needed just for me, and the communal corridors were pretty shabby. Curtains were stained. The room rates had obviously been increased because of the demand from the snooker and no way was this worth £99, but there was a nice touch on departure when I was handed a free cookie and bottle of water!
Summary
So impressed by the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff here both reception and bar. Free tea and biscuits on arrival (just what i needed after driving all day) a neat compact budget room in what is a great area of London. The hotel itself I have used a few times and know the quality of both accommodation and facilities. However this hotel exceeded all expectations when I asked the receptionist to print an email. Of course my IT failed me in sending said email, however instead of leaving me alone, the receptionist (sorry can't remember name....) came and asked me if i was having trouble then brought across a pen drive. This action not only touched me as a regular hotel traveler around the country, but also saved me time the next day; thanks. I could then talk cricket with the barman for the evening (still think we will win!) a great break to my stress and allowed me to keep motivated the next day. Thanks to the Raglan Hotel will always book here in the future.
Summary
The lights did not work in the en suite bathroom, however the staff did fix them very quickly after my initial complaint. The shower would not maintain an even temperature and fluctuated erratically between scalding and freezing, disappointing because it looked very nice. The bed was average and the room was very noisy due to a function directly below my room. However, on the plus side, the breakfast was truly fabulous.

Was just enough for us
Summary
This hotel was lovely, staff very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay there again. The only thing I would say is that you have a problem with stairs ensure that you are a lower floor as there is no lift.
Summary
Reception and staff very good. Rooms not the cleaniest I have stayed in. Carpets in room very dirty and stained. Corridors not the best lots of creaky floor boards. Breakfast was excellent.
Summary
Good location and really great value for money, only criticism would be parking as if the 6 spaces are full at the front you will have to park on the road and we ended up parking 1/2 a mile away!
Thats about all I can tell you about the hotel as to be honest I got very drunk and slept in my clothes, this meant I had no need for the shower in the morning and I certainly couldnt face breakfast!
An ok place to stay but expensive. My single room was especially small. I had a continental breakfast. Again, ok but nothing special. Some excellent restaurants in the village. Not sure if I would stay again because of the price and parking issues.
Summary
Very good warm friendly service by all the hotel staff... cleaners to reception. Tiny single rooms but clean. The shower struggled to hold a constant temp...so one minute spot on, the next either too hot or too cold. The decor once you walk past reception is a little iffy but still £75 a night is not bad at all...for London. Outside London you would maybe be little agrieved. BUT I would stay again if there were no deals elsewhere.
Summary
Great room and location.
Summary
I was very happy with my room and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Summary
The staff were friendly and welcolming. The room was well appointed.
Summary
Room was small and the shower did not work properly but overall a nicely presented hotel. Food was good. Most of the staff were very helpful. A couple of male employees could have improved their interpersonal skills. Would probably use again as long as the price was right.
Summary
Room was adequate with decent bed and good shower. Decor a bit worn. Could not get a signal for the 'free' wifi so had to pay for a commercial one. Counter staff fine in evening, cool in the morning.
Summary
Good quality hotel and a reasonable price for a london hotel, the corridors where a bit of a maze, breakfast very good.
Summary
Staff were absolutely fine, cooked breakfasts good, rooms at front suffer from traffic noise, shower definitely requires upgrading ( room 217) otherwise typical 3 star hotel only with crazy London prices.
Summary
I am not going to do an in depth review but suffice to say when compared with the Holiday Inns and Premier Inns of this world this hotel falls way short
You may think that the comparison is unfair; but when the room cost is at a comparative price then the quality of the overall experience should match
The service was excellent, with helpful and courteous staff and the room was quiet and comfortable. We will stay at the Raglan again when visiting our relatives in the area.
Summary
Convenient location for restaurants and walks. Road a bit busy until late eve. but quiet at night. Shower awkward to adjust as fixed overhead and no shelf in cubicle. Room was clean and bed comfortable. Friendly staff. Overall fair value considering Muswell Hill is expensive.
Summary
Room was ok and clean enough but the rooms was very small and lots of stairs to get to it! bit awkward and knackering when you have been on your feet all day!!
Summary
Very welcoming staff and modern reception, walking up to the room was very hot felt a bit like an old peoples home, rooms quite small but you get what you pay for, shower was quite temprimental you had to turn all the way to cold then back to hot to get the temperature right, however the beds were very comfortable which is always a plus point.
Summary
It was the best in the area but there wasn,t much to choose from.
My room was ok but the bathroom was not very clean and the water was cold and trickled out of the shower. I reported it after the first night but nothing was done and I knew by the receptionist face that they had heard the complaint before and had no intention of fixing the problem.
I was looking forward to a stay in this hotel after looking at the images of the rooms on the website. I used to lived just down the road so knew the area well and always thought this was a good quality hotel. It wasn't that the hotel was unclean or the service was poor it was the fact that the room was allocated as a single and was only marginally larger than a shoe box. The decor was not in keeping with the lovely rooms shown on the literature and was EXTREMELY noisey with the room shuddering everytime someone closed a door in the corridoor outside, and this was continually! Parking was also a BIG problem, there are 7 spaces outside the hotel reserved for guests but access to these is blocked by members of public parking on the road, it seems ridiculous that there is allocated spaces in such a congested area but you can not park in them! I was rather fed up after the 4th circuit of Queens Rd. If you get a good room allocation I'm sure it could be lovely but I just wouldn't take the chance again.
Summary
As a woman by myself, the first problem was a window that didn't lock. The flat roof outside adjoins other rooms- call me paranoid, but I didn't sleep very easily and ended up wedging a teaspoon in the gap. The single room was TINY- I didn't need loads of room, but any cat being swung would have been badly concussed. It was also very hot, and obviously, wasn't going to cool down unless I opened the window.. in other bad news, the pillows were like bricks, and I was woken at 7am by the people above me having a shower and stomping about- the walls are thin.
In good news, the staff were friendly and helpful, the decor is modern and painless, and there's a lovely garden outside. They also didn't mind me coming in at 4am.
the breakfast was included and was fine- but I when I said "fresh tomato" I didn't mean a cold, uncooked one.
I needed a hotel in Muswell Hill, and I am quite fussy- so overall it wasn't bad. But it wasn't great, either.

Summary
Hotel staff were friendly on arrival, checked in and went to our room. Within minutes of being in our room after a long time travelling from Germany we were not impressed to be given a room at the rear of the hotel were there was a dog barking and wailing. The room was of a good standard and we just wanted a kip before evening meal but had to faf around then going to reception and reporting the matter.
The hotel staff then explained that this wasnt a recurring problem and only happened now and again??? not impressed with this answer so asked to be moved to another room. They didnt seem to think there was another spare room so said i would go back to my room and speak to my husband to see what we would do. On returning to reception we were given another room which we were pleased with as we didnt have to listen to the dog making a noise just a little let down with the apperance of the room, no valance on the bed and just looked a little grotty but clean bedding and clean towels so shouldnt moan. Food to an ok standard, and staff friendly on a whole.
Bright and welcoming entrance. Appreciated being given rear, ground floor double room as no singles available. Bed not kingsize. Fresh white cotton sheets but duvet needs replacing. Good coffee/tea tray and adequate, clean shower room. Breakfast was enjoyable and matched three star rating. Staff were friendly. Good locaton for visiting family nearby. Close to bus stops and easy 5/10 minute trip down the hill to Highgate tube station. Pleasant area with many small shops nearby.
Summary
Didnt complain due to having to leave early morning.
Taps in sink didnt work and could only get cold water from the shower!
Saying that room was clean and quite pleasent, would stay again but check all works before going to bed!
The worst place I have ever stayed. It took three attempts to be given a room that had even been made up for a new guest. The hotel looked lovely from their website, however this is not a true reflection. The rooms are so dirty; bed linen, towels, crockery with food marks still on, soap that had been reused from the previous guest, mucky carpets and generally run down. No milk to make a tea with the facilities provided. The shower only had two settings, burning hot or freezing cold. The bed and pillows were lumpy and rock hard, therefore sleeping on the floor with a rolled up towel was the better option! A good night sleep in a clean and comfortable room is a basic requirement of a hotel, this hotel met neither! I am so disapointed to have been tricked into thinking this was going to be a nice place to stay.
Summary
Room service prompt but could chicken in the chicken sandwich be 'real' chicken, not processed slices :)
Summary
An ageing hotel that has had a bit of a refurb!.Friendly staff and a nice peaceful atmosphere.
