While the capital city has plenty to offer visitors in terms of attractions, it appears that some people are booking London hotels in order to see locations featured in the movies.
Research carried out by travelsupermarket.com found that almost one in five Brits admitted that a film had influenced their choice of holiday spot.
Looking ahead to this year’s blockbuster releases, the company has predicted that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – the seventh film in the series – will spark a wave of travellers looking for Diagon Alley and other locations from the movie.
It is due to be released in November and features a number of destinations around the UK.
One British tour operator stated that it has noticed a rise in the popularity of its Hogwarts tours coinciding with the release of each Harry Potter film.
Fans of the teenage wizard will no doubt be pleased to hear that, although there are only seven books in the series, there will be eight films because the final book is being shot in two parts.
