A disabled model features in a new promotional campaign alongside three other women that that has been unveiled at the Oxford Street Debenhams in London.
The event is a significant step since the popular high street store has not used a person with a disability in its modelling shoots before.
While the pictures will appear online, anyone staying in the capital at luxury accommodation such as Hotel Indigo London can walk or take public transport down to the firm’s Oxford Street shop to see the shots in the store windows.
The model in question is Shannon Murray, who has been in a wheelchair since she was a teenager, but agreed to participate in the groundbreaking shoot when she was approached by How To Look Good Naked… With A Difference hosts Nikki Fox and Natasha Wood.
Wood and Fox are both disability campaigners and their How To… Channel Four show offers confidence-building tips for disabled people.
Appearing alongside Ms Murray in the pictures – which were unveiled at 10:00 (GMT) this morning (February 26th) are size 10 model Tokumbo Daniel, “petite” Tess Montgomery and size 16 model Kate Fullman.
