Travellers in London hotels may have headed over to Rough Trade East at the weekend to see Ash playing their first gig with new guitarist Russell Lissack as part of Record Store Day.
The Bloc Party guitarist has linked up with Ash while his band take a break from the touring and recording, with no signs yet that there will be a break-up.

Ash have a long history in the charts with hits such as Oh Yeah, Goldfinger and Girl From Mars all selling well and the band still receiving critical acclaim for their brand of melodic pop-rock.
They played on Saturday April 17th alongside Caribou, Sweet Billy Pilgrim, Pulled Apart By Horses and a side-project of Lissack’s, Pin Me Down.
After this Record Store Day celebration, Ash will be on tour across the UK, taking in many cities including London, Oxford, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds and Glasgow.
