Trip to London for the Army Navy rugby

The hotel is out of the way with no direct tube links and after 12 o'clock at night in central London Taxi's are hard to come by. Also buses were difficult to locate to the Hotel. The standard of room was ok but there was no hot water for showers. This we found to be a major point as it was freezing cold and we were very wet(due to the hunt of the elusive taxi) a warm shower was very much needed.

Short Stay

We stayed at the hotel as my wife was running the London Marathon. Our 1st impressions where not great due to the location on the Old Kent Road. The room however was spacious and clean and well equipped. The reception staff were very accomodating getting us a room at the back of the hotel at the end of the corridor. The hotel is on major bus routes and not too far from Elephant and Castle Tube. Ideal for a short city break.

Clean, perfectly good accommodation but a long way from Tower Bridge and tube stations

Room was spotlessly clean and tidy and despite having a room facing the main Old Kent Road there was very little road noise. The hotel calls its "Tower Bridge" - but its a fair trek from Tower Bridge and also a long way from the tube stations. But its perfectly reasonable for an overnight stay

Nice, friendly and clean

This hotel was lovely, check in was swift, and our room was not huge but it was perfect as we we off out for night and just needed somewhere to get our heads down. The room was really clean and presentable and we had a good night sleep, however, there was only 1 extra pillow. Bathroom was small but very clean, however if your hardly going to be in the room it doesn't matter. It had a good shower. We opted for a lay in till 12pm with £5 per hour added on if not checking out at 10am, but the reception staff said we could check out at 11am with out futher charges. When we left at 12pm they didn't charge us the extra anyway! Thanks guys! We will return soon the next time we are what way

Great experience

Well situated for Visiting the elephant and Castle area. Room was spotless and beds very comfortable. Good value for money. What was nice was that on arrival I was addressed by my christian name instead of being a Mrs....... (it was midnight ) but. this for me was one of those first impression positives.

Good clean hotel

I was very impressed with this hotel it exceeded my expectaations, its very clean and modern inside, the rooms are spotless and the gentleman in checkin was extremely helpfull. What I thought was usefull was a 24 hour reception with full bar and snacks available including coffee machine and bare essentials. I would definatly go baack to this hotel again, the only thing I've got aganst this hotel is the fact that its a mile from the nearsest tube station, although there is a bus stop outside.

A great place for our NYE stay

The room was clean and tidy with 4 comfy beds. we had access to everything we needed inc. shower, iron, tv, off road parking and more. We had a great stay there. My only criticism was the water pressure of the shower could have been better. Easy link to Elephant & castle tube (amongst others) and local shops including Tesco metro. the staff were friendly and had no problem with us returning at 4-5 am.

Just one downfall...

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room itself was lovely and clean. The only problem we had was the noise. The walls seemed very thin, we were often woken up by people coming in at night, or leaving early, the cleaners or people chatting, no matter how quietly. But aside from that everything else about our stay was perfect so it was a small price to pay for great service.

Clean and comfortable room

Room was clean and bed was comfortable. The hotel is value for money compared to many hotels in London, however no breakfast is included in the price and parking adds to the cost at £10 per day. Disappointed that we mistakenly left behind a brand new pair of suit trousers bought for my son's wedding. Rang the morning after we left and were told that the trousers had not been found. Finding this hard to believe I sent an email also but to date have not received any reply. We would probably stay here again and would probably recommend to a friend but would strongly suggest that they completely check the room before they left as will we in future.

My single booking gave me a family room, so loads of room. Certainly a budget room but for £59 what can you expect. The guys on reception fell over themselves to be helpful which was nice. In the downside there was no socket next to the mirror to use my own hairdryer and one of the windows in my room would not shut - not too much of an issue but not secure.

Keep Clear

I would not recommend this hotel.
No dinner available.
Breakfast is provided but terrible quality.
No Wifi except at rediculous prices.
Only 2 reaturaunts (or cafes) within walking distance. There are however a multitude of kebab shops.
Parking at £15 overnight - this must be used due to red parking areas around hotel and less than safe neighbourhood.
Room was clean but small and clinical.

Eurotraveller review - Tower Bridge (London)

The main criticisms after a restful night in this accommodation (the double glazing did not completely stop all the main road noise but it did reduce it significantly) are the quality of the continental breakfast, it was poor value for money and the muffin rather dried up and also the distance from the areas in London we were visiting. The staff insisted on turning on the television for football, however as we were the only guests having breakfast they could have done as we requested and turn it off. It was also some distance from the areas of London we visited and the rail station at Waterloo. There are other options closer into these areas that we would visit next time.

Experience

When we pulled up to the hotel we could not see clearly where the entrance was, needs better signage.
Hotel was clean but the area in which it is situated leaves a lot to be desired, felt very nervous about going out in the daylight, let alone dark.
Breakfast was awful, no sausages and no choice of eggs, they were supposed to be poached, but were more like bullets.

Functional, not ideal

Hotel service was very good. Room was functional but not particularly comfortable - no carpet in bedroom, cold linoleum tiles. Furniture was poor with 2 shelves broken in the units, not a major issue but not a great impression either. Ground floor accessible room designed for guests with special needs but floor very slippy in bathroom after shower, water leaks...a lot! Noisy location on ground floor next to a kitchen of a neighbouring chinese restaurant.
Location also felt misleading 'Tower Bridge' when in reality it was a good mile south of the river on the Old Kent Road.

Standard, clean and affordable accommodation

My 2 friends and I needed a clean, inexpensive and convenient room to store our stuff, get ready and spend some time in before and after we attended a gig at Ministry of Sound club. As the hotel is located just under a mile from the club, it was an easy taxi ride away. It was also fairly close walking distance to the tube station. Staff were helpful and friendly and the room was standard with most of the amenities a big chain like Premier Inn for example offers. We were more than happy with it for the purpose of our trip.

Eurotraveller Premier - Tower Bridge

Our first problem was that the bus driver said ""But you asked for Tower Bridge". The title "Old Kent Road" would be more accurate.
The room was small, but acceptable for an overnight stop only, any longer would have been uncomfortable.
Breakfast was acceptable, but a little expensive for what it consisted of. It was also somewhat early for a Sunday to serve breakfast between 7.00 and 9.00 am., and to have to vacate the room by 10.00 am.

#hotel disapointment

Hotel situated on busy Old Kent road. The nearest tube Elephant & Castle which is at least 40min walk or 4 bus stops away. Not a good location if you have kids or luggage to carry. We had family room to rear of hotel on ground floor. Room was good and clean. No noise but downfall was the windows face out into rear yard where delivery vehicles arrive in the morning and if you have curtains drawn open the van or truck drivers can see into the room as there is a speed ramp outside the window and they have to drive over slowly. This window could be frosted out to a higher level. Continental breakfast is ok but the full english breakfast is very disapointing. Mainly beans eggs tomato and bacon. tea/coffee poor.via hot water flask.Only 2 choice of cereal. Did not like the location of the hote when we arrived.. If you were a nervous type or a girl travelling alone I would not recoment this location. As I have indicated previous you have to get a but to the nearest tube station. Mind you the bus service is good but usually it was standing room only as we travelled in the mornings from the hotel. Internet usage is £2 per hour. To print it cost 20p per page. The bar is non existant. It is in the reception area with 2 bar stools. Not great. Nowhere local to venture outto, if you dare... when I am back again to visit london I will seek somewhere closer to a tube station and northside of the Thames where most activity takes palce.

This hotel is best approached by car - understand there is parking on site. If you're travelling by foot, as I was, the hotel is a good walk away (20mins) from the nearest tube (Borough) and located in a unattractive part of London with little bar and restaurant choice on your doorstep. Despite its undesirable location I found the hotel clean and welcoming and my room was finished to a moderate standard with all the basic essentials. Price is middle of the road. Won't stay here again though.

Nice courteous staff, room was very basic, but clean.
Only downside was having to book breakfast the night before, which we didn't realise as we weren't told at the time of checking in.
Drinks at the (small) bar were reasonably priced though.
Train station is 15 minute walk, which can feel a bit threatening later on in the evening as there is a high ethnic concentration between there and the Hotel.
