Holes in the bathroom ceiling, dirty carpets and shower from the 60's ,creepy room.Second room was slightly better but the hotel it's dirty and everything is old(not the nice kind of old). One of the worst I have stayed in.I would never stay there again.

Had a twin room which was quite small but adequate. Beds very comfortable and room quiet. 3rd floor.Clean. Bathroom fine, nice hot water and plenty at all times. Poor reception on TV but then we were out all the time. Breakfast cerial, toast, cheese, jams etc, plenty of it,tea and coffee OK more than I'd expected from the term continental considering on the continent I'd been given just a coissant! Would use it again. Very central. Queensway nearby, great for large variety of restaurants.

This hotel was absolutely adequate. Nothing more, nothing less. It was clean, tidy and enabled us to stay over in London for a relatively cheap price.I'd stay again.

Small but lovely and sunny room. Tube is just 2 blocks away. Better than average breakfast. Nice staff. Great reception space and terrace to the park, considering its category.

First impression from the outside was promising, it looked very glam and swanky, however the room want quite up to the standard the hotel website makes it out to be. It was meant to be fully refurbiished yet had damp in one corner and old floral wallpaper, and a broken window. The site said satelite TV - it had terrestial channels and a german channel! There was no tea and coffee facilities either, you had to go down to reception and get yourself, and had to pay for coffee! Overall it wasn't bad for 55 for a double but I wouldn't have been v impressed if I had to pay the full 150 for it.

A general theater 2 day trip for me and mother.Room basic but very nice. Only a few small things that i would like to say, but not a complaint. Take a flask as the rooms come with out any tea or coffee making facilities and after a long drive it didnt go down well.DONT DRIVE TO THIS HOTEL - they have no parking available. Not even for residents. we pulled up outside the hotel and was told that we could park their for a max of 2 hours. After which we had to park in a local NCP car park costing £44.50 for less then 24 hours. What should have been a nice mother and son few days in london turned out to be a costly parking experiance. Also to inform the nearest tube station is over a mile away, so wear good shoes lol.Other then that i would stop here again now i know about parking issues.

Not as bad an hotel as some reviewers make out. 3 stars is pushing it. Room was spartan and everything in hotel had seen better days. Bed was comfortable enough. Bathroom and shower were fine. Noise from halls and other rooms travels easily so not good for light sleepers. No tea/coffee facilities in room - charge 50p a cup in foyer for tasteless, luke warm coffee (if they haven't run out of cups). You do not get what you would reasonably call continental breakfast - it is just tea/coffee, toast, bread, orange juice, 3 cereals and tinned fruit cocktail. However price is low compared to other hotels and to get a distinct increase in service I've had to pay over £20 per night more elsewhere.

Room was okay for what we wanted, cover on bed was dirty so took it off (had stains and covered in black hair :S maybe from cleaner?). room very very tiny! but nice bathroom which had a bath! very unusual in these types of hotels! the plug sockets sparked when anything got plugged in so didnt chance it, tv had good signal. didnt eat breakfast as didnt want to be put off even more! theres a maccyd's round corner and tesco express as soon as you get of tube which was bonus! if you want extra pillows you have to go down and get them yourself, no tea making facilities in room but there is down in reception. this hotel also has a lift! very convienient place about 5mins to tube and a couple of shops, must warn that the road the hotel is on is split into two roads even though its on the same road! made it very confusing! ask someone there know.

For the price, in central london, this was Ok . Dont let the title 'Palace' fool you, its basically a large building that has been divided into very small roooms. Reception looks good, and the place was cleanish although the rooms were shabby, and the net curtains were dirty. although saying that, the bedding was clean. breakfast consisted of toast, boiled eggs, sliced cheese, cerials and orange juice, coffee, etc. There was also tinned mixed fruit. A place to crash, rather than a place to treat a special person.

A star self rated hotel in the middle...
A 3 star self rated hotel in the middle of London, not far from a multitude of tube stations and some great big parks. Better than that, a pub, 50yrds from the front door. I needed a triple room over the weekend for a stag do so that three guys could rest their heads after some heavy drinking. We got three single beds a TV, a clean and tidy bathroom/closet and a place to hang our cloths and that was fine. The hotel meets the standards of the price paid, especially in London and I have no complaints. I am easy going though. We were in the basement, but we had a window so that didn’t matter. We were 2 meters door to door to the canteen, I could not hear the guests and the food was fine. The staff work hard bringing a continuous stream of food, and if you’re not fussy, there’s nothing wrong with it. If you want a cooked breakfast there’s a nice café by the park, Diana’s I think, we had both.Staff on the desk didn’t seem to be in a rush, but then neither were we, kick back and enjoy being on a break. They are polite and capable and so I can’t fault them. Had they claimed 4 – 5 star or charged more I wouldn’t rate it as high as I did, but for the price, location, quality of furnishing, it fits the bill. Other than sleeping, eating and getting changed, we didn’t spend much time in the hotel but all we needed was a place to sleep.

A good budget hotel. Fine for 2to 3 nights.Room was basic but with an excellent bathroom. It was very clean but was let down by the dirty windows. Breakfast was basic butgood value for the money-my only complaint was that you had to wait for toast, demand was always ahead of supply. Great location.

A very small double room, greyish sheets on the bed, a bathroom with broken fittings and a black material smeared over the surfaces (not sure what). Bfast was reconstituted, processed and bland with a coffee coloured liquid. There are plenty of hotels in this area of london for a similar price that are at least clean and comfortable.

this hotel is really for someone looking to crash for one night or 2. our twin room was very small indeed and you could not stand up properly on the top level where there was a double bed. with a single on the lower level. there was no tea or coffee making facilities and only one cup for water. no wardrobe space to put any clothes either, we kept our stuff in our bags. breakfast was very basicm, toast, cereal and tea/coffe, don't expect a full english . i wouldn't recmmend this holtel if you are planning a stay of more than 2 days. If however you need somewhere to crash for 2 nights and are on a budget then this hotel just about fits the bills.
